Etoile- I'm so sorry to hear your news! Are donor eggs an option? It sounds like you are looking at your choices for growing your family. Best of luck!

Adorkable- I'm glad your HSG looked good!

Kelly- Sending you fertile and sticky wishes!

Me- I'm really sad about the signature change. I'm really sad about probably missing this cycle. I'm on CD14 today and we did Femara this cycle. On CD12 I had an 18mm egg. My OPK kits are not changing color at all and my monitor is still showing "low". It is probably too late to trigger--even though I called doc this AM to tell him...oh, well. Everything in its own time and way. Oh, and it's my birthday and DH really screwed up--no card, no present, no cake, no plans. And he just left for work and no bding!!! Sigh. (Sorry for my vent!)

This thread was out of sight for a while so I didn't change my status on it- but when I checked just now I noticed it needs to be updated:

Please move me to graduates!

Etoile- i'm very sorry for your news

congrats Katie!

Adorkable - did something go wrong? the HSG really shouldn't have been painful.

and, i noticed that i should be moved to graduates as well. current EDD is 01/25/10.

a bit of an update on me for anyone who's interested - i have to go for a ultrasound to measure the length of my cervix due to the fact that i had a LEEP procedure. if it's not quite where they want it, i'll have a clerage (sp?) - basically they sew you up to stabilize things.

and, i have no idea why they bother to call it morning sickness - it's really all day sickness!

for all!

Sara, I'm so sorry to hear your news and I wish you all the best of luck at growing your family through adoption. I think it's wonderful that you're able to think ahead right now and I am very hopeful for you.

My update: still waiting to ovulate (although I might have had my temp rise this morning, but I won't be sure for a few more days; chart here). Had a very irritating appointment at the Free Clinic last weekend with two respectful, inquisitive med school students and a jerk of an MD who told me that "if [I'm] really serious about getting pregnant, [I] should get a ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitor." She was unable to tell me how an additional diagnostic measure would meaningfully change my chances of conception or my husband's behavior, or to address the fact that LH surges aren't always easily picked up in women with PCOS, even when we do ovulate. I'm still irritated.

Conceiving in the next three months after this one would make it appreciably more difficult for me to walk in my graduation next May, which would involve sitting outdoors for 2 & 1/2 hours in a different state. I skipped walking for my Master's and am only planning on getting one PhD, so this should be my last graduation and I know my family really wants to be there. I'm going to keep trying and may or may not walk if I'm 8+/months along or have a child younger than a month, but would really prefer for it to happen this month if at all possible.

as for the signature thing, i have written them requesting that they figure out a way to let us keep the BBT links or put them somewhere easy to see in our side bar or something, i think everyone should write them with similar statements, i can understand (kinda) them wanting to curb advertising and strange links (what ever happened to free speech?) but taking out BBT links away takes away a tool that we use so often to share and help each other, whoever made this decision was obviously not TTCing

as for the birthday thing that bites! but here you go

:HAPPY BIRTHDAY:

congrats to you to!!

as for me HSG, they had a horrible time finding my cervix and had to push around over and over and finally had to call in another guy to do it. then the balloon and die started me cramping so so bad, i was shocked. i have a really high pain threshold and have a lot of craps monthly so i figured it would just be like that, but it was way worse and came on so fast i wasn't really prepared for it all, thankful it was over not long after the worst of it and the results looked find to them, will get a full report from my RE after the radiologist takes a high res look at everything.

sorry your sick, i assume you are doing ginger and papaya and all that?

oh my.

the first HSG i had (although it was really an SIS - sterile water, not dye) was a small amount like that. the DR said my cervix was moving and had to sort of poke around for a bit which did cause some sharp pain briefly.

thankfully for the real HSG the person who did it was in training, not even a full doc yet and my goodness it was like nothing. never felt even the slightest twinge or tweek.

however, neither time did i have any cramping. sorry it went so badly.

now - the good news - all of the docs i've gone to OB's RE's the post-doc/doc in training all said that women tend to have higher fertility for about 3 months after an HSG is done. something about cleaning out the pipes.

as for the all day sickness - i'm using food to clamp it down. as long as i have food in my stomache, it's not bad. and, today was actually ok - not nearly as bad as it has been, so maybe i'm on the downslide for it. i also may be having stronger nausea than usual b/c i'm on progesterone supplements.

although i recently found out you can take half a unisom (sp?) and it helps as well. my OB even said it would work.

Congrats to Katie34 and Catubodua!

Starkyld, here's to a fertile month! How exciting that you will be DONE with your PhD in just a short amount of time! Wow! That's AWESOME. Your chart...huh. It looks to me like your shift may have been the 14th...your open circles, are they earlier or later (usually) then your closed ones? Not that I've loved every minute of this month with my CBFM BUT I will say, knowing that *it* NEEDS me to pee on it every morning helps me feel like it is my job and not that I'm "wasting" OPK sticks. I can't say for sure it is working. I seemed to get a temp this am and yesterday was my first "high" reading. It is expensive for what it is but I figured I would be using it multiple times (we want more than one if we can...) and loaning it to friends so I was able to rationalize the initial sticker shock.

Adorkable thank you for the birthday wishes! I love them! Yeah, I had posted a huge long post with questions and suggestions there so part of my sadness comes from the removal of all the really wise women expressing themselves and making suggestions. Anyway, I'll send a PM again but I am not at all hopeful that tptb are at all concerned. On a happy note, here's to a wonderful "side effect" landing in your womb!

Hello, ladies.

I was waiting for a June thread to open up before I posted, so since the title changed I figured now is a good time! I just turned 36 and DH is 39, and we have decided to TTC #1. We started at the beginning of this month, but it was a no go, and I'm coming up on fertile time again (I think). I've only been taking note of CM and not charting temps. If nothing happens this time around, I think I'll buy a monitor. If I'm reading my signs correctly, I should ovulate sometime this weeked; unfortunately, DH is going out of town on Saturday and won't be back until Wednesday! So, it may not happen this month due to timing. :

I was on the pill for about 10 years and just went off of it in April. We purposely avoided during that first cycle to clear my system. Last cycle we didn't get preg, so this will be our second cycle trying. I'll be hanging out here until it happens!

Yeah!!! Our thread is back!!

Congrats Katie34

Welcome everyone!

AFM: Scope out my chart (while you still can) and note the wonkiness I am seeing my gyno on Monday and a hormone specialist on Tuesday to figure out what is going on. Looks like possible thyroid problem? Anyway, I'm having dizzy spells, my cycle has gone crazy, and my left leg is constantly swollen. Hopefully they have some answers for me, and a possible reason we haven't conceived yet...Wish me luck...

indianagrl- Do you use iodized salt or sea salt? I started taking iodine a few months ago and it helped bring my temps up from the 96's to the 97's. I do have hypothyroid but it is corrected with medication. My numbers were fine (1.2 TSH) but my temps were still awful until I started taking the iodine. It doesn't taste and you don't need alot but I think it has helped me tremendously! There is an iodine thread around here somewhere too.
Good luck! Wonkiness sucks!

Jenne--The circled temps that looked high were taken later than usual and my body wasn't acting characteristically fertile around that time (I usually have several days with gobs upon gobs of egg-white cervical mucous before I ovulate), so I knew I didn't ovulate that early. My temperature was really low this morning and I just got a positive LH strip, so my fingers are crossed for tonight or tomorrow.

I'm not down on other people using the ClearBlueEasy Fertility Monitor, I was just offended that this doctor (who I'd never seen before and with whom I wouldn't have a continuing relationship) breezed into the room, ignored my detailed 2 year history of charting, gave me misinformation about fertility signs, and indicated that I wasn't an authority on my own body and that I was uninformed about fertility.

Beyond that, my husband isn't that keen on being treated like a semen dispenser and would balk at me approaching him all, "My monitor says it's time. Let's go." I'm doing an adequate enough of timing intercourse without damaging my relationship as it is--I'm exhibiting fertile signs now and have had sex in 3 of the past 4 days--and wouldn't be able to time it any differently if I had a monitor. So, yeah, I was irked. I'm glad that your monitor is working out well for you.

Starkyld- Oh, my! I wish I could say I can't believe a doctor treated you that way but unfortunately, I can. I'm so sorry! It does look like you are getting ready to O on your chart. I'm sending fertile vibes your way. I agree it is hard to find the balance between "gee, I want you, let's get it on" and "we want to make a baby so we need to do it today". Best wishes!

Jenne, I wasn't really surprised that the free clinic doctor was so rude, just frustrated and offended. I hopefully won't have to deal with her again.

My temperature was way up this morning but it's definitely early for me to have gone triphasic (5 dpo), so I don't know what's up with that.

Starky - My DH is the same way with timed intercourse. The first time I tried that, I was very hurt and disappointed, because he went to bed 3hrs early to avoid it, but then the next 2 days after, he was all on board. It's too much pressure for him. So, I have decided when I am finally regulated again, that I will not mention it's time, but wear a 'nighty'.

I joined this thread, then found out I had high blood pressure, so I took a break, to work on that...and now I have lost 29lbs. So I am back on the TTC train again. TTC in complete faith. :
