Maybe I should have made this a poll. I'm out of preseed and would really rather not buy more this month.
If the choices were coconut oil, astroglide and saliva....which is better for baby dancing?
(Going without one of them is not an option. :-) )

I have a different option if you're willing to do it... personally it creeps me out but all the research i've done say it's not only perfectly safe and hygenic, but it WORKS...

which is to leave an egg out for an hour, crack it open, seperate yolk from white.... and use the actual eggwhite.

if you did that it's like... less than a buck for every 12 times you DTD!

saliva isn't very good for helping sperm get around... decreases mobility actually, which can decrease your chance of pregnancy.

Astroglide has been proven to actually kill sperm.

Coconut oil I cannot see any info for one way or the other.

Unless you can go with things you already own, I don't see why you wouldn't look into preseed, which costs the same as astroglide.

otherwise, i stand behind the eggwhite suggestion.

Well, I only have my personal experience to go by, but, we've conceived four babies while using Astroglide.

Also, I've read that there is a risk of salmonella poisoning when using raw egg whites as a lube. If you have farm-fresh eggs from a known source, I guess it wouldn't be so much of an issue, but if you get yours from the supermarket, I'd be a bit leery to try that.

Wow, I'd never heard of the egg white thing. Thanks for the tips! Maybe someone has done the egg whites will see this and chime in. I'd try it...i think....
The only reason astroglide is in there is b/c I already have an almost full bottle from pre TTC days. heh.
Back in my younger years I didn't need any of it.

the risk from salmonella with egg whites is extremely low, it's the yolk that harbors bacteria when uncooked.

That's what I figured, but in case you were looking into buying another bottle I thought I'd throw in that preseed is the same price.

Otherwise there's the eggwhites or look into ways to up the amount of EWCM you have because that's your bodies own lubricant, the best for conceiving and totally free

I have a bit of a "dry" problem that I never had as a youngster... but I found for me all i need is a lot more focus on foreplay and I'm fine.

Eggwhites are listed on several sites as an option for TTC'ing, ALL other kinds of OTC lubes are supposed to be terrible for TTC'ing and some can even kill sperm (like Mae suggested). My BFF's RE (fertility doc) specifically told her to use Canola Oil, because she probably already had some and it's natural and totally sperm friendly, don't use Olive Oil tho, it has been used as a contraceptive in the past. Also saliva is terrible for TTC'ing and can prevent conception. Good Luck!
