Anyone never get a BFP until 14 or 15 DPO?

I'm trying not to get discouraged..but I just took another test and it was a BFN. I'm on 11DPO. With my daughter, I took tests 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 DPO and got all negatives and didn't get a BFP until 15DPO which was when my period was due.

I SERIOUSLY feel like I could be pregnant. I keep getting these uterine pains and they are the same kinds I got when I was pregnant with DD. I ONLY got them while pregnant too...like if I stood up to fast I'd get this sharp pain.

I took a test (the Answer kind) yesterday (10DPO) and today (11DPO) and they were both negative. I just had DH go to the dollar store to get dollar tests and I'll take one of those tomorrow. I'm feeling kinda bad..which is how I felt last time..but then lo and behold I really was pregnant! :

Just wondering if any of you ladies don't get your BFP's until 14 or 15 DPO too.

Thanks!

HPT accuracy by DPO:
10 dpo : 35%
11 dpo : 51%
12 dpo : 62%
13 dpo : 68%
14 dpo : 74%
15 dpo : 80%
16 dpo : 88%
17 dpo : 92%
18 dpo : 99%

source: http://www.peestickparadise.com/Peestick_Basics.html

So if this is to be believed, a good 20% of pregnant women don't have enough hcG to get a BFP until the day their period is missed (15 DPO, assuming a 14 day LP).

Good luck!

There is NO way that includes early result tests. Perhaps the 100+ tests but certainly not the 25+ tests... they are 99% by 14dpo on most studies.

This is really interesting!

Like I said I got ALL negatives until 15DPO with DD...and I tested every single day sometimes multiple times a day....FMU and SMU...etc.

We'll see by Friday I guess!?

With DD tests came up BFN until 15 or 16 DPO. This would be 3 days past my normal period.

Good luck!

99% accurate yes... but that doesn't mean 99% of pregnant women get a BFP at 15 DPO (which is the day of the missed period for that mythical average woman with a 14 day LP and a 28 day cycle). There's some info on that website (and others) about what that often advertised 99% really means.

The other thing to keep in mind is that this data was likely based on reported sensitivity of tests, not actual sensitivities. I am sure it was done based on when urine would reflect a level of 25 (typical 'early' test level). In reality, though, many tests are more sensitive that their reported standard, so we get more early BFPs than one would expect.

I honestly don't know because I don't have data in front of me... but I do know that my views are extremely skewed by hanging around ttc boards so much! LOL! But I do agree with you that it seems lower than expected... but I don't believe 99% at 14 DPO is accurate either.

I tested 11 dpo - got a BFN. I then tested 14 dpo and got a very, very, very faint line. I tested the morning of 15 dpo and got a BFP w/ a CBE digi. When I tested with DS, I tested 3 days after my missed period..... I think some womens' bodies just don't pick up on the HPT's like others.

GL to you, mama!! :

This sort of explains those above numbers a bit more:

Quote:
When should I expect a BFP?

It's already 13 DPO and I still haven't gotten a positive pregnancy test. Should I assume I am out for this cycle?

This is one of the most popular questions I get asked - when can I expect a positive pregnancy test? Here are the stats from various sources on the interweb I've found:

HPT accuracy by DPO:
10 dpo : 35%
11 dpo : 51%
12 dpo : 62%
13 dpo : 68%
14 dpo : 74%
15 dpo : 80%
16 dpo : 88%
17 dpo : 92%
18 dpo : 99%

Does that seem lower than you expected? You aren't alone. Why else would we be whipping out our peesticks at 6 DPO? It's because we think a BFP at 6 DPO is possible, and a BFP by 10 DPO is the norm. This expectation has been created by the culture of the online ttc community, and I am certainly guilty for being part of that. Yes, I am a classic peestick pusher. I just gotta know the second it is possible to know. In reality, though, even with sensitive tests a BFP is unlikely until you near your missed period.

Aside from the fact that on message boards, people are more likely to post and make a big deal over an early BFP than a late one -- there is also the human error factor to consider. I don't want to offend any of my beloved citizens of Peestick Paradise, but sometimes those super early BFPs are actually not BFPs at all... they are errors, evaps, or sometimes even just a case of looking to hard and seeing the reagent strip. Then a few days later, they get a real BFP. Of course, they think they got their BFP at 6 DPO... but in reality, they didn't get a real line until 12 DPO.

The above stats are confirmed with other sources of data. Fertility Friend has an excellent page on this. You'll see that according the Fertility Friend's data, the average first BFP is 13.6 DPO, and the average first "false positive" is 10.6 DPO. This tells me that people are testing early, but the average is still close to 14 DPO. This means that a lot of women aren't getting that first BFP until after 14 DPO. So I think the above stats are likely correct.

So this was my long-winded way of saying... don't give up. Don't give up at 13 DPO, or 14 DPO, or even 15 DPO. It ain't over until AF crashes your peestick party.

Good luck!! I hope you get your BFP!!

Thank you all SO MUCH!!!!

I'm feeling MUCH MUCH better.

I took another test tonight....negative...lol.

I'm going to try to just take one dollar store test each day until Saturday. On Saturday I'll take an early Answer test and see what that one has to say if AF hasn't shown.

I feel MUCH better...and less discouraged! I don't want my hopes up too high either...so it's good to be in a place of calm logical-ness (if that's a word?! LOL).

I'm not 100% sure of when I ovulated either...it could have been later...so who knows. Next month if I'm not pregnant I'm temping so I can actually know what's going on! Lol!

Thanks again mamas! You're all great!!!

With my first two pregnancies I had a BFP on FRERs by 10 dpo. This time however, I didn't get a BFP until about 17 dpo. I had tested at 14 and had gotten a BFN (with a FRER), but w/no AF in sight, I decided to take one a few days later and got my BFP.

With DS2, I got negatives for a full week after I started implantation bleeding, so at least 12-13 DPO. And a negative sometime during the next week. Finally, day 15 after implantation bleeding started, I got a BFP, long after I was sure I was having an early miscarriage.

With this one, I don't know how long past ovulation my BFP was, because I can't be positive when I ovulated, but I'm fairly certain I ovulated around June 7-8 (my very copious EWCM dried up completely on June 6), but I still got a BFN as late as June 30. I was positive I was out of the running but after AF still didn't show up for another week, I tested and got a BFP on July 8. Is it possible I ovulated twice? Sure, I guess so, but there were NO signs of ovulation. I guess I'll find out for sure at my ultrasound this Friday...

THANK YOU!!!
THis thread has given me renewed hope. I'm 11dpo, tested the last two days and got BFNs. I am way more upset than I thought I would be, because another 2weeks of waiting to ttc again seems like forever, and I am an insanely impatient person... I'm not feeling especially pregnant, but I think I've been making up phantom symtoms for myself - nausea, dizziness, sore boobs... Could be pms, but in my head, I make myself optimistic!

I'm going to a wedding tonight, where I know my parents will buy me drinks all night if I let them - I was about to give up and just let them, but just in case there's still some small hope... Maybe I won't.

How accurate are the DT tests?

And as for Answer - that is the OPK I used, and I never got a clear positive - only a faint line on cd14. If I need to use them again, I will not be cheap this time!!!

Update: I had the ultrasound and it confirmed my original suspicion -- I did indeed conceive c. June 7-8 (dated the baby at 9w3d). And I got a BFN as late as June 30. Draw your own conclusions!
