Hey gang,

After two positive HPTs, I am bleeding today --this didn't happen when I was pg before and I fear the worst. I was hoping for at least just spotting or light bleeding, but it is still going and I think there are blood clots

okay, i am at work and not supposed to be on the net... I am a little bit freaking, though, so I need to make this quick and I will check in with everyone else later...

I had implantation spotting the last two pgs, I'm not sure which dpo they were though because I wasn't temping. Now, I'm 11dpo, and my temp dropped yesterday and again today, but not below the coverline. It's early for af(usually day 29-32), but I assumed she was coming. I am spotting (barely) today and wondering if this is what it could be. I don't "feel" like af is coming, no cramps, bloating general af "feelings"-yk? Anyhow, I can't get to my chart to post it from here, but basically it went from 98.6 to 98.2 yesterday to 97.8 today. So, is it too late at 11dpo for implantation spotting????? Would you test tomorrow if my temp is back up and no af, or just wait it out?
Sorry I'm not responding to everyone, but I've got to get off here.... tia for all of your help!!!!!

Annette, I don't think 11dpo is too late for implantation spotting, but I don't know for sure. (I've heard of it happening as late as 12 dpo, and there have been mamas on this board who have bleed for quite awhile after...)

I would probably wait to test, but I'm "once bitten, twice shy" (just hate that I spent so much $ on tests my cycle trying, and for nothing.)

You could always try the "pee in a jar" trick someone shared in Dec. (Pee in a jar, then wait to test it. Some women were peeing in a jar, then emptying it out later. :LOL )

Melissa! Let us know how you're doing - have you gone to your dr/mw yet? vibes coming your way!!!

BabyOsMommy - I don't think 11 days is too late...if it is implantation, though, I think it would be too early to test - it's the implanted fertilized egg (blastocyst?) that gives off the hCG, and if it did only implant at 11 DPO, I don't think there would be enough hCG to be picked up by an hpt @ 12 DPO...any other opinions?

congrats chiromama, on your self-restraint (self-preservation?!)!

Happy BD-fest, Adina! GIO!!

Well, Letia, looks like you'll have to get handy!!

everyone!!

Yeah, I was gonna suggest that, too, Letia, so I'm pretty sure that's what she meant!

Get handy! I love it, it cracks me up! :LOL

(Anyway, I think lots of guys can GIO themselves even without porn. But having you in the room... um... *helping* things couldn't hurt, could it?)

Ok, sorry to be such a dense.....but, fondling? : The first thing that comes to mind is masturbation; but, isn't that a solo act? OK! Sex 101 for me! Or, maybe I should check my Sex for Dummies book that my mama gave me on my wedding day! :LOL (We were taught sex was for marriage)

The *room is *not an option! It also creeps me out, knowing what everyone has done in there. I found out in my pg loss/if board, that you can have a take out cup! :LOL

{{{{{{{{melissa}}}}}}}}} you're in my thoughts and prayers!

as for the SA's, those rooms are creapy and gross. i remember sitting in the waiting room and being highly embarrassed LOL! of course, this was early on in our battle for infertility LOL. i would say, though, that on our second and succesfful IUI, i was an able-handed assistant in collecting the swimmers. maybe some magic touch there after all it's nice to know i had more of a role in getting pg with my dd than lying on a table with my legs in stirrups :LOL

Thanks for the heads up! For some reason I thought that we could rits and instead of the usual collection do the withdrawal method into the cup? :

I'm not sure I could get into helping him other than the usual way.....

I was wondering about an IUI. It seems painful... I'm not one for poking and prodding, which makes this road, all the more difficult.

I guess hasn't shown yet. I'm lightly cramping though, which has just started happening here pre-af. Last cycle she was on the 5th; but, looking back at my charts, she's gone from the end of the month to the first to the 5th. I'll make an appt if she shows for as soon as she leaves. Is it a urologist for the SA or an RE?

So as the day wears on..... I really think I'll test tomorrow..... but then I may change my mind.... I really want to wait till thursday, when AF should arrive, but in all honesty, I doubt I can! I've never taken a pregnancy test before this month, and now I've taken several! (ok 3) I've got all sorts of symptoms today..... sore boobies, very very tired after a fabulous night sleep, hungry then not at all. What I hate is that it all can just be PMS... gosh this is driving me CRAZY!
I wish we could just know immediately after sex if it worked..... yeah, lets have a chat with god and see if we can change how this whole process works..... Sure.... you get knocked up the first try, you never get pregnant if you don't want to.... you know right away, you never have cramps with your period, and birth is a painless process. I'll draw up a petition, we can all sign it and we'll send it off to god. what do you think? hahahahaha :LOL I hope that didn't offend anyone... just lightening the mood!

I hope we here from Melissa soon!!!!
I don't knowmuch about sperm collection, but I'd vote for doing it at home - so it will feel less like you're at one of those "porn rooms" where there are naked chicks and a tissue box. (hey, I saw it on an episode of CSI):LOL :LOL

Nah, we don't get a vote with God in this case. It hard, even for those who know Him to understand. *sigh*

I'm concerned about Melissa as well. It can be really scary. I've been there.

I don't like CSI, too gorry for me. OK, I'm squimish. I can even recall...sitcoms probably, where the couple is having trouble and have to go into the room....

Maybe I'll be this cycle and it will be a moot point! I'm not getting my hopes up only for them to be dashed like the last four months. :

melissa,
i hope you were able to see someone about the bleeding today

korin,
if you really get the urge to test tomorrow, you could always save your FMU and then test a little later in the day. many test first thing and then right after, shows her face.

Letia, there was a bit of pain involved because after all they're inserting instruments into your cervix. it wasn't earth-shattering or anything for me. it was worth it to us to do the IUI (non-injectables) because it resulted in the pg and subsequent birth of my dd. but it's a step each couple/person has to decide on their own. it's very humbling.

Okay, well now i feel like an insensitive jerk... Melissa, I'm sending you many hugs and thoughts and i hope that everything is okay!!!!! giant to you!!

So, I'm a bit more rational now, but you know how you can convince yourself one way or the other and want to know that SECOND if you're right or not, but know there is nothing you can really do but wait, but the waiting is making you want to turn your insides inside out? Well, that's where I was. I know that I just have to wait. Last time I waited 4 days after the spotting and had a really dark line. But then I really did think it was an early period and had given up. So hopefully I can do it (if doesn't show up, now I'm doubting that this is actually implantation and just a really messed up early period). Thanks for your advice, it does help put things into perspective. No one understands like all of you guys.

Korin, I know how you're feeling... I wish I could say something to make the waiting bearable. Honestly, I've peed on enough sticks out of sheer craziness with no real symptoms, so if you need to, then I say go for it, and you even have actual symptoms!

Anyhow, I need to go distract myself with something other than babymaking for a while...

Take Care!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the hugs and concern. It REALLY means a lot to me.

I don't have any good news to report. As the day went on, the bleeding continued and it looked kind of ropey -- I knew that it couldn't be good. I finally called my doc around 5:00 and she confirmed my suspicion that I have probably miscarried. She was very sympathetic and suggested I take some ignacia for grief (she is a homeopath and a DO).

It's really been a crappy day -- such a whirlwind of emotions from the first sight of the blood and as it continued throughout the day and my hopes went down the drain (literally). On the brighter side, I've only been TTC for two months. On the darker side, I am feeling really old at 38 and that my eggs are hopelessly old and dried up.

Dh came home early and ds actually put me to bed from a nap today just as I do with him -- he said, "Mama sleep, baby play, bye!" and shut the bedroom door.

Thanks again. I will be lurking to keep an eye on your cycles and keepings fingers crossed for BFPs and hope to "get on the horse" again as soon as possible.

Melissa I am thinking of you and hope the bleeding stops.
I have a friend that bled rather profusely, and gave birth to a healthy little boy this past summer!
If you do continue to bleed, I would highly reccomend Rescue Remedy, it helped me a lot when I miscarried.

There is so much going on in this thread~ who else is getting closer to testing?
Chiromama, are you holding out???

Haven't gotten to read it all yet, but first wanted to say I am so sorry Melissa.

Been gone for a few days, in the middle of moving, finally got my pc hooked back up (but with dial-up, ugh, gotta call for some dsl). Wow 88 threads in here to read, I'll have to see what I can do!!

In the meantime, I'm waiting to ovulate any time now. DH is actaully HOME this whole pre-O fertile time so I'm really hoping this is our month. It has to be. We already had to put off ttc for a few months bc of that family cruise this summer, I really want to be pg already! Been taking Vitex and B vitamins. Getting down and dirty this month! DTD 4 days in a row, DH was too tired last night, LOL, never thought I'd hear HIM say that!! No Temp rise yet so I think we are fine, get in one more tonight and hopefully the egg will come tomorrow. We're in a great house right now, almost twice as big as our apt, so maybe baby has just been waiting to make sure we have enough room for him or her!!
