Alright, confession time. I just discovered that my local drugstore carries cheap tests, so of course I bought a couple and tested. BFN, but soooo not surprising given that I'm only at most 8DPO. Okay, no more testing until Sunday FMU at the earliest!

evobaby-- maybe I shouldn't tell you this, but a lot of dollar store sell tests for $1.. only way to get cheaper than that is to get them online in some places.. now if you end up testing a zillion times because I told you that, umm... I'll be hiding under my chair where you can't find me!

Thanks Mirta. I'm not sure they do in Canada though... Anyone in Vancouver want to chime in? These were $3 per test. Not quite $1 but certainly cheaper than the others.

Lots of BFNs, followed by AF today Trying to keep my head up, as this was the first cycle we were actually really hoping to conceive in...Oh well, I figure the time just wasn't right yet, and it will happen when it's time for it to happen. I'm trying to look at it as another month of uninterrupted nursing time for DD, which I'm grateful for. In the meantime, could you please move me to waiting to O? Good luck to everyone else still in the 2WW!

Please move me to TWW.

Had a temp jump today- I've been waiting for it. I've had EW mucous Tuesday and Wednesday. My nipples have been SO SORE the past couple of days. I wonder if it's my body's way of saying, "Hey! I'm trying to make a baby! Don't nurse so much!"

Anyway. Let's see what my LP decides to do. It has a mind of its own.

anyone here has short LP or LPD because of breastfeeding? I charted for the first time this month and realized my LP is only 7 days long. I BF my 15 month old about every 3 hours day and night.
Any advice is welcome to try and increase the length of my LP. I heard about B6 and Vitex. What worked for you???

Gen24 - I had a 9 day LP due to nursing - I'm not sure what it is this time around because I took b6 from O to AF 2 cycles ago, and last cycle my LP was almost 12 days! It also made my O come earlier - however, it really affected my supply so I stopped. B6 suppresses prolactin which is why it can lengthen your LP. Anyhoo - my 14mo nurses a TON (like every 1-3 hours 24/7) so it isworth a shot for you! I don't know if it was the b6 or my cycle naturally lengthening though.

Well ladies I'm on CD 31 and af still hasn't returned! My cycle averages 31 days, so I'm going to take a test tomorrow morning!!! I'll be sure to post pics so we can all evaluate it. It may not be until later in the day though because we have my daughter's first birthday party tomorrow morning at 11 and will have a house full of guests!

I'm on CD24 and still no sign of O. I've had super sore nipples for 3-4 days now, but my temp is going down, LOL. I guess because it's been cold here at night now (30s) and we won't turn the heat on until end of Oct so brrrrrrrr.

Our inlaws are here and I'm heading to my parents for a few days alone so the timing might not be right this month - we shall see!

Please update me to waiting to Ovulate... Only a 7 day LP. Getting depressing. But gonna try again! At least it was longer than last months' LP!

gen24~ Just because you have 1 short LP doesn't mean you have LPD. You need to have more than 1 short LP in a row and for a while for it to be LPD.
I've had a cycle with a 9day lp while nursing but the following cycle was a normal LP length.

Hi Gen24,

I too came here looking for advice because my last 2 cycles have had VERY short LP's. They were 7 days and then 3 days. We have been TTC since June but not having any luck so I decided to start temping & charting and using OPK's.
My son is also 15 months but we are only nursing in the morning and right before bed, but my cycles are still wacky. And then this short LP thing is totally a problem too.
But I read about the B6 and the Vitex as well. I started it as soon as I got AF after 3 DPO! I am taking 100mg of the B6 once a day, about 40 drops of the Vitex extract once a day, and I am drinking 3 cups of Red Raspberry Leaf tea a day.
I haven't "felt" any different, BUT my last 3 cycles I o'd around CD 20 and this cycle after taking the supplements, I O'd on CD 10!
So we will have to see.
Good luck and I will answer any other questions you might have

Well, I tested this morning cuz I couldn't hold out any longer, and I got a

BFP!!!

I'm sitting here super stunned waiting for everyone else to get up. DD had a bad teething night so she and DH are sleeping in. It's really faint, but definitely there. I sure hope it sticks, and I hope everyone else gets the BFP they're after this month.

DD 7/18/08, and a new one on the way! ETA 6/4/10
