I was reading on one of the threads that saliva kills sperm, how about KY jelly or other commercial lubricants?

Yes all of those things will.

There is a lube called Pro Seed that supposedly doesn't, and egg whites (yes real ones) also don't.

Everything else will.

Bummer isn't it?

Yes. We don't have that brand sold here, and on the ones that are, it doesn't say anywhere on the packaging whether it does... I think it should, actually. Having said that, I don't think I'll be cracking the eggs soon though... just seems a little bothersome.

According to every doctor I have spoken to, the PH of saliva can be different enough to kill sperm. Especially depending on what the person has eaten prior to the "lubing". It it probably the least offensive of the bunch, but can still kill sperm.

of course you natural lubrication is the best. Of course that takes some time, sometimes. :LOL

An avg person's saliva is usually "slightly alkaline at a healthy pH of 7.4"

A pH of 7.5 is "preferred pH of sperm (Basic) to counteract the acidity level of the vagina."

Edited to say: even though this doesn't look like a big difference, there are instances where your saliva may be more or less alkaline, as Adina stated. I have also read on several occasions that saliva is not a sperm-safe lubricant.

You can order Pre-Seed on the internet. It's not sold in stores here, either, but it seems to bring success to alot of ppl.

Here's a link if you're interested: http://www.babyhopes.com/pre-seed.html
