babymango - we waited to ttc until DS was 2 because I did not want to interfere with BFing. Now I wish that we would have tried earlier, because we have been trying for 8 months.

Mom to DS 12/07 and DD 11/13, plus a bunch of chickens, dogs, and cats.

Moving past many years of infertility and always thinking of my friends in the infertility forums.

Socalimommy: doesn't that contain fenugreek? I thought that was a big no-no in pregnancy... But your suggestion made me research other teas, and i came across more milk two: alfalfa, ortica and raspberry leaf. Gotta read about it more, but that sounds ok.
Maybe i'll change my mind again. And again.
Ugh, im so confused.

Babymango - I got pregnant with #2 when #1 was 12 months. I nursed #1 until I was 7 months pregnant, and then he self weaned (he is an independent one). I'm still nursing #2, who is 18 months now, and even though I'm (technically) 12 weeks pregnant I haven't noticed any drop in supply. If you can, borrow or buy the book "Adventures in Tandem Nursing". I tried to eat oatmeal, and drink lots of water. Your supply *could* drop, but maybe not until later in the pregnancy at a point where your baby might be picking up solids. I mean, it could drop BECAUSE your baby is picking up solids. I try to let my 18 month old nurse for as long as I can stand it (I won't lie, it can be uncomfortable) because I find that longer sucking helps as well.

For me, TTCing as soon as I got my first pp AF back both time (at 11/12 months) was the right decision for us (it took 2 months with 1, but after this loss we'll be going on 7-8 months this time around).

Good luck in your decision

finnegansmom- I'm so sorry for your loss

hunnybunny65- I hate that AF usually shows the day I decide to test

babymango- I'm having the same dilema. We decided to TTC now (DD is almost 7 mo) because it took so long to conceive her (almost 3 yrs) I'm worried about the possible supply drop BUT I am 37 now and IF it takes that long again, i'll be 40 (which is my max) We've actually
discussed the fact that if it takes longer than a year and 1/2, we might decide not to try for any more I'm just hoping for a BFP and the ability to keep up with DD
Good luck in your decision I know it's hard.

finnegansmom. I'm so sorry. This whole process can be so brutal. Sending healing thoughts your way.

babymango and tara2. This is a tough choice to make, especially since there are so many unknowns--how long it will take to conceive, if your supply will even be effected, etc. We had decided to wait until DS was 18months to try, but as it turned out I didn't even get my first PPAF until he was 26 months, so it was out of our hands anyway.

hunnybunny. Sorry about the spotting. Testing never fails to bring on my AF.

AFM, another positive OPK this morning. Not sure what's up, but I know O is close. Super sore nipples, open cervix, etc.

Alright zensven, testing buddies! When are you going to test?

Hi Ladies,

Well, I guess it's time for me to get back in the saddle. Please move me from waiting to be ready to waiting to O. My temp dropped this morning, so AF should be rearing her ugly head any moment. Here's my chart for the front page.

I'm trying to appreciate the ease of all DS's nursing now because nursing through a pregnancy isn't much fun. However, I really hope that DS will stick with it because I found tandem nursing to be a huge help with newborn-related nursing troubles. For example, I was able to quickly switch to block feeding when DS needed that because I could just get my DD to empty the unused breast. Other people have to work up to block feeding and risk plugged ducts, etc. Also, I had HUGE nipple problems with DD, but had absolutely nothing with DS, a situation which I credit to the fact that my nipples never had a break in which to get re-sensitized.

And a bit more encouragement for those of you who aren't sure that you want to nurse through your eventual pregnancies: we never had one moment's sibling issues -- a situation that has persisted to this day and DS is almost 2. I know that tandem nursing doesn't guarantee this result, but I'm prepared to believe that it's a large factor.

welcome Sarahmck. Thanks for the insight on tandem nursing. I'm hoping if I get my BFP (in the near future) that I can make it work for us

AFM, I'm supposedly 4 DPO, according to FF I O'd on CD 63. Timing wasn't wonderful, but ok I guess. What do you ladies think? Do you think I really did O? Not sure if I should wait and see or move to waiting to know...

Oh no! My temp went way up this morning, and I don't think it was due to some outside factor because I always temp about 3 times, when DS wakes up to nurse, and they were high each time I temped. I hope I didn't miss the O - DH won't be home until tonight, and we did not BD at all

Based on your other charts, it looks to me like your temps for the last few days were just really really low, not that you've Oed now. That would be really early. It looks to me like your timing will be great for BDing this weekend and Oing in about 5 days.

Hmmm, good point, sarahmck, that makes me feel a lot better. The cat peed on the bed over the weekend , so I had to change the blankets, and I replaced them with something lighter. Maybe that is why I had low temps!

Yes, I was really excited to see that I would probably O on Sat or Sunday, which is perfect timing for the first time in a while.

RCR~ I have NO idea what your chart is doing! It definitely seems like something is "off" however you did have EWCM? I'm not sure. I think the OPK's will really help you. Keep taking them! Around O time I would take them a couple times a day just to be sure I caught the surge. GL and

I have a question for all of you mommas who have more thn one child. When I was TTC my first child I used to O around 17 or 18 days into my cycle. When I TTC DS2 I O'd about 19-20 days into my cycle. I am now TTC #3 , this is my first cycle PP and I am 14 days into my cycle and have been having ovarian discomfort and bloated feelings since yeaterday. It is only thurs. and I wasn't expacting O till next tues but I think it will be this weekend with all the O feeling. This weekend will only be 16 and 17 days into my cycle. Anyway, my question is Did your O day change much with each child or was it the same?

Before I had kids, I had the most perfect 28 day cycles with O on day 15 like clockwork. After #1 while still nursing I Od generally on day 20 or 21. Got pregnant again and with my new cycles after #2, I O on day 20 or 21 still. How weird. I also have shorter luteal phase since I'm nursing, so my cycles are anywhere from 28-30 days.

I am not sure. your chart is pretty all over the place and unpredictable. I think maybe with the watery CM FF picked that day for O, but it shows watery CM AFTER possible O date too so I wouldn't bet on it. I agree with the other poster regarding taking OPK's. It would help to have more definite O signs

My DD was just over 2 when I got pregnant with DS. She began sleeping through the night when she was 2.5. I never nightweaned her, so I basically never denied her. As soon as I was pregnant we talked all the time about the baby and about how she would share her "bee" with the baby and she was very into the idea of sharing. She wouldn't have been a fan of being denied. Maybe your son will be okay with it as long as he realizes that there's still one for him? Also, he'll be 4.5 by the time you have a baby, and is likely to have reduced his nursing needs.

haha...tell me about it! I'd like to take the OPK's, but at this rate, I'd go through 20 per cycle. Guess I'm just waiting for this cycle to be over and hoping that the next one is better

oh yeah, the watery CM was questionable that day so i guess i can take that out if it helps

Hey mamas...quick check in. I JUST poas 10 min ago with like my 5th pee of the day and I got the faaaaaintest line. Not getting too excited just yet though; I cannot tell if there is purple in it or not. I saw the line in 3 minutes and I have never had an evap happen that quickly, even on an IC. I have a FRER left but am saving it til AT LEAST 11 dpo, the earliest I have ever gotten even a barely-there BFP on one. I'm only 9 dpo today though so that would be crazy for me! FX!!!!

finnegansmom- I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Wishing peace and blessings for you and yours.

SoCaliMommy- sorry to hear of AF finding you (not sure I told you already). I really enjoy your positive outlook.

rcr- fx that your O will wait until this weekend!

lifeguard- I was frustrated just to read what happened with your refer! Hopefully that can get fast tracked this time for you.

Luck to those who will be testing soon!

I've really enjoyed the insights from the discuss of tandem nursing- something I'm totally excited to try (fx). I love the thoughts about no sibling rivalry.

AFM, I'm thinking AF may be trying to find me... I've been spotting on and off the past week, but it has just been tiny, pink streaks. Today, it is significantly more and darker red. Not enough that I'm ready to call AF today, but I'm pretty sure she will come very soon...

On the one hand, yay for the return of a somewhat cycle. On the other- I'm thinking FF might have been right and I DID O- making me 7 DPO. (The more I think about it, I've gotten really crappy sleep the last week d/t ODS being sick and if my temps were higher, then the thermal shift could look convincing, couldn't it? I *am* above a coverline for longer than I have seen during this chart...)

Anywho- if AF starts, that's one lovely LPD I have. Bummer. I'm already doing Vitex and B6. *If* I get AF, WDYT about adding NPC? How much B6 have you done for LPD? I'm only doing 100mg/day (split) b/c that was the level I was comfy at with nursing, but has anyone done higher?

and, ironically, thinking ahead- if I am cycling, I'm going to be OOT the last week of Feb-first week Mar, which would be a likely next O date! arg! (However, I'm going to a Birthing From Within training, so yay on that!)

I had an appt with my NP yesterday (following my endo/pelvic pain issues) and we talked about TTC. She's checking my thyroid again (was checked in Sept & normal) d/t my low temps, tho she wasn't worried. Other than that, she said basically to wait it out- she didn't want to check any of my other hormones levels (even tho I tried to talk her into a progesterone level just so I would know...). She was very encouraging of TTC right now given my other health issues.

okay, sorry to not have more time for personals, nak. More later. best to you all.

I have a FRER left but am saving it til AT LEAST 11 dpo, the earliest I have ever gotten even a barely-there BFP on one. I'm only 9 dpo today though so that would be crazy for me! FX!!!!
omgosh! Wishing the best for you! Hope to hear a blaring BFP very soon- A faint line with diluted urine that early sure sounds like a BFP to me, though. Cautious congrats. Can't wait to hear.

I haven't been here in a while because I was on vacation and didn't have access to a computer but I just wanted to say that you can add me to the success stories
I got a very faint line on a $ tree at 10 dpo so I did a digital and it said pregnant!!! I am happy but nervous at the same time because I had a miscarriage not too long ago.
I guess vitex really works!!
