I'm happy to find someone else who hates to shop, I hate it too. I would probably be out buying a test, though.

After the period from hell, after three months with none, I am now on CD 6 and charting for the first time in my life. I want to know what's going on in there!

Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible---St. Francis of Assisi

Hi everyone-

Well I had my 2nd ultrasound today and none of the embryos progressed including the one that had the very strong heartbeat and was measuring perfectly last week. They have no idea what happend yey but my Dr beleives it was most likely chromosomal (sp?) and my age. They consider this 3 miscarriages since there were 3 that implanted even tho 2 made it to 6 weeks + days and one made it to 8 weeks days. I have my DC scheduled for weds so they are hoping to learn more once all the test results are back.

Thanks to all of you for thoughts and prayers. Mm thougths and prayers are still strong for all of you.

Pardon me while I puke.gif

I have a question for you guys about OPK tests. When do you usually begin testing for ovulation? I tested 2 days ago, day 11..very faint line, supposed to be negative. Yesterday, day 13, no line...negative, I tested again today, day 14...line, but not as dark or darker than the test line. In the past I have ovulated later...day 16 or 17. But last month my cycle was a short 27 days...no cramps before it.

Do you guys use them? Should I wait another day and we can try tom...? TIA

AF arrived - 5 days late. I'm never late, so I was very sure. Sigh.

Mom4tot - I haven't used the OPKs, but I think I will start. Probably not this month (if I did get pg that would be great, but i'm not going to try hard for a Christmas baby) but next month.

Hollysbearsmom, how are you?

Cindy, best wishes to you.

I'm sorry AF found you, Napless.

Mom4tot, I don't know about the OPKs. I use the Clear Blue Monitor.

Kerlowyn, you're our last hope for this cycle. Come on and test already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hollybearsmom, how are you?

Cindy?

I ovulated two days ago and I feel good about this one. I originally thought we missed the egg again, but maybe not. I have some hope. I know this may sound weird but my sense of smell was heightened yesterday. For me, that's as big an indicator of ovulation as CM. Anyone else have this? Now the tortured wait to POAS.

How's everyone else?

Whoohoo!! I am still in a bit of shock...I thought DH and I were going to have to really work hard for this. We had a MC this past November, so I thought maybe my age was going to become an issue. This was our first try!
Send lots of sticky vibes my way! I am pretty nervous, and probably will be till I get to the second trimester.

for all you ladies!!!!

PS...you all know before DH! :LOL I just got back from the store and tested, he is at school tonight!! :LOL

Hi ladies.

Sort of taking a break this month - if it happens, awesome - if not - back to work next month. I'll try a fertility predictor or whatever you call those things. Does anyone have experience with those.

Hi Ladies,

Well, I really thought last month was it; but I was wrong. I'm trying not to be discouraged but it's hard.

Napless, I use the Clear Blue Easy Fertility monitor. It works great. I got pregnant with ds on the second cycle of trying. I think the problem this time is that we're missing the egg. It gives you a few days of higher probability of fertility and then two days of peak fertility. We have missed the first day of peak fertility the last two cycles and I guess missed the egg. At least I hope that's what it is.

I'm in the middle of packing & moving in 2 wks.
YUCK.
I'm so tired. My temps are all over the place plus I'm still b/fing DS.
I'm trying to keep track but who knows.
DH took a week off so there's plenty of GIO just in case :LOL

Howdy, all! I'm new to this forum. Anne, mom of a 6 yr old dd, 5 yr old dd and 18 mo old ds. I just turned 40 and we've been TTC #4 for about 5 months.

(OMG...it 'sounds' weird to actually say that I'm trying to have a 4th baby.)

My dh turns 50 in July.

I don't get online often, so apologize in advance for duplicating questions from before. Is TCOYF "THE" book I need to buy? I'm interested in nutritional, exercise, herbal, and other aspects of fertility, not just checking cervical mucous.

We're not panicing yet, but I'd like to get more information. It only took 2 mos for each other child (even nursing.)

My cycles are very regular (28 days for 4 months and 30 days prior to that, got AF at 4 mos postpartum even with 'constant' nursing of ds) and seem to have all the ovulatory signals, but it seems to me that I'm almost in hyperdrive from a hormonal standpoint -- awful ovulation acne, terrible hot flashes just before AF, mood swings.

TIA for any info and book advice.

p.s. - with my ex-husband I spent 4 years undergoing infertility testing/treatment including basal temp charts and up to pergonal with IUI. I used the first versions of OPK's, but am not up to date on the new ones. Should I go ahead and get one of those along with a book?

Thanks again! Anne

Hello Anne! I do think TCOYF is really a great book, that's the one that has been the MOST helpful. Someone else might have more suggestions.
Just wanted to see how all my buddies that are ttc and 40+ are doing.
I have been away, so lost track of you all.

Congrats to Kerlowyn!!! that is spectacular!

Also, hugs to HollyBearsMom, from the heart.

Hi All! Joining again after being off the boards for quite a while. (Building a house is very time consuming!)

I am 46 and TTC #2. No, that is not a typo, I really meant 46! DD#1 is 3. I see a few of you are in the Pacific Northwest. So am I, just East of Seattle.

I hope you all haven't gone away, as I just found this thread. Will go back and read the whole thing.

Congratulations, Kristina!

Welcome, Patti!

Good luck to you!

I tried a fertility tester this month, for the first time. I think I just missed my LH surge, though - I wasn't reading the results correctly. (I thought a positive was a negative until I'd seen a real negative). But...you never know!

Hi napless and Tracy! So good to see others still out there!

I am at the end of my 2WW. We may have just missed O, though. We should have kept at it another 2 days! LOL On the other hand, my temps are still up and we are 12 DPO, with no sign of a period. If my temps are still up tomorrow, I think I will get a test and do it Sunday morning.

napless, I don't have a fertility monitor, just doing temping and OPK. Let's see... I have exactly 18 months of charts on my desk, spanning about 4 years. Stopped charting when I was pregnant and then nursing, then started again while we were TTC, then got pregnant but lost that one to a blighted ovum, and have been charting again for the last year!

Tracy, I did post on that thread, and need to get back to it!

Gotta run... daughter needs me!

Thanks for the Welcome, Velveteen! But I don't know how encouraging I will be, as I am not pregnant yet! LOL I mean I will support you, if you KWIM, but if I don't get pregnant, I just won't be a success that you can point to! We have been trying for 2 years now. Actually mananged to get pregnant just about a year ago, but lost that one to a blighted ovum. I should have a 7 month old by now. But here we are... try, try, try, and try again! I feel so very lucky to have my beautiful daughter, but it sure would be nice if we could give her a sibling. Of course the stress of building a house is not helping things!!!

Let's try to keep this thread alive - I sure could use some support from women my age that are also TTC. And I will happily support others, too, and give a hearty cheer at every announced pregnancy!

Cheers!

Patti

Edited to add:
P.S. I couldn't stand it and tested tonight. Negatory, cap'n. It *could* be too early, but I doubt it. We'll see what my temps are in the morning. Sheesh! I hate this!!!! (positive thoughts... positive thoughts...)

Shatki, do you 'do' anything special, ie: fertility specialist, etc? I am trying just the old fashioned way, other than herbs that is.
And thanks for being there to cheer us all on, I for one could use it! I am 42 by the way.
