Tear, I vote you preggo, with at least one little one!!

I am heading out for my anniversary trip tomorrow, so I won't be lurking for the next 3 days. I'd better come home to a few BSL BFPs

I had a physical and discussed my fatigue. DR (an integrative medicine doc) thought I looked anemic (I have been in the past) and I am getting blood tests to be sure. She just said I looked that way (?) It would certainly explain things. So, would someone whio is anemic have a hard time sustaining a pregnancy? When I asked her about not having conceived, she just mentioned my age But she is a Family Practice DR and no fertility specialist.

Turns out that maybe my problem was the wrong position (I have a rear tipped uterus, and should DTD in a *ahem* rear type of position) and being iron poor???

I have the same tipped uterus and positioning never seemed to make a difference for us. I've *never* gotten pregnant before without having an orgasm afterwards though. I think it's because my cervix dips to pick up the sperm which are pooling probably in an unusual place. So I have to have perfect timing, an O right after injection and plenty of luck.

I had a DR once who wanted me to drink veggie smoothies several times a day, with kale and mangos and all sorts of things that didn't sound good together. I think I'll try spinach, because what I tried back then was dis-Gusting. He also tried to sell me a green supplement. I never went back, I hate when DRs try to sell you their MLM

You have me convinced to try again though

I have the same tipped uterus and I always O first (I could explain why, but you all probably have an idea of that TMI, yes?). Maybe that's my problem?!

Worth a try! Oing first never worked. I figured it out after like 3 year worth of TTC that's what it took for me. That and of course some serious love from the fertility gods!

An "old" BSL, while lurking, needed to pop in to say I have the same "tipped uterus issue" and truthfully feel that was part of my conception problem. My O-ing first was always easier for DH & I... but I really think trying to O after DH or simultaneously helps the cervix DIP and actually get some swimmers. The simultaneous O is certainly tricky (though fun). But hey, I do believe it HELPED get me to where I am today!

I run anemic normally (well, I try not to, but you know, shit happens) and the reason anemia contributes to infertility is because it doesn't promote an oxygen rich uterine environment. So basically, it will make for a poorer lining ( or rather, the blood flow to the uterine lining is poor) which doesn't help with implantation, and if you do get pregnant, a poorly oxygenated blood flow doesn't promote growth in the baby and can eventually cause a miscarriage. I take yellowdock root and iron pills when I am feeling anemic - usually by the time I am feeling anemic, I am actually fairly iron low. So the iron pills to help get my iron stores up quickly and the yellowdock root to help with absorption. Once my iron is up, I can maintain, but is essential to get it up there. I also try to eat lots of red meats as they have the most heme-available iron. Meats/tuna/chicken have good amounts of iron that is very available - spinach actually isn't that available - it needs a binding food with it with it because it contains high amounts of oxalic acid which inhibits iron absorption.

Some iron absorption enhancers:

* Meat, fish, or poultry
* Fruits: Orange, Orange Juice, cantaloupe, strawberries, grapefruit and other Vitamin-C rich fruits
* Vegetables: Broccoli, brussels sprouts, tomato, tomato juice, potato, green & red peppers
* White wine ()

Also, if you are b12 deficient, you could end up with anemia because your body needs b12 to help absorb iron. Some people genetically are disposed to be b12 deficient - if you are, taking b12 shots or sublingual b12 will help raise your levels correctly (b12 pills don't work since the stomach acid kills b12). The good news is, if you are b12 deficient, the chances of getting pregnant are pretty high if you can raise your levels. One study had 4 out of 5 women get pregnant within 3 months once they raised their levels.

Hope that helps! I have been looking into this a lot since I'm wondering if this might be our problem.

ETA: if you are anemic, some physical symptoms (lookswise) would be no color to your lips, if you pull your lower eye lid down, it would be white and not blood red, your finger nail beds would be blue/or white. Your hands and feet might be cold a lot, you might be cold alot.

Thank you Rachel, that is sooo helpful. That probably has alot to do with why I couldn't get/stay pregnant and after all of this time it is too late for me

I am going to first check to see my levels and then work to get them up. I like that white wine has iron (I never knew)

I was actually scheduled to have bladder surgery (that I really wanted) and I had all of the pre screenings, but they obviously didn't even LOOK at it until I was already in my gown and hooked up to the IV with some drug to relax me pumping in my system. The nurse ran in the room with the DR and they sent me home all woozy because he said my levels were too low to do the surgery and that I would like.ly have to have a transfusion if he did it and I lost any blood They didn't even LOOK at my numbers before I was scheduled tol be wheeled down

I had taken 2 weeks off of work and had spent hours in the hospital

I think it was 7.5 or something (I might be wrong, but I think that was it) He was in disbelief that I didn't have more anemia symptoms, they didn't even prescribe me iron pills or tell me whAt to do. I just took liquid floradix and by the time I went to my awesome NP I was at 9.

I also usually Od before DH, and only a few times did so after him (doing it after was hard for me because the whole energy of DTD was over :-/ and it was not easy.)

Good luck ladies. I am enjoying some coffee nefore I pack my wedding cake in a cooler to share a bite with DH on our actual anniversary.

Ok.... so I'm 11dpo today and got this:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink

Every single $tree test I've taken since yesterday looks like this (well, today is darker and this is the SMU one which is darker than the FMU one) A faint faint line popped up at 3 minutes - but it's so insanely faint, I can't tell if it's just the antibody strip acting up or an actual early BFP. The ones today seem to be able to tweak pink out of them though.

Ironically, I had an infertility consult set up for this morning. So what do you ladies think? I may run a $ tree test with water to make sure. Also, the tests I took yesterday were from a different batch of $trees, just as an fyi.

Fwiw, this was the first $tree I had go positive at either 9 or 11dpo last time - http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink

MahnaMahna, that was hilarious.

Kalamos23, that looks like a line to me...

We DTD this morning, we only made it to day 4 instead of day 5 but I had EWCM this morning, and I usually only see that once a month so we went for it. Day 12 so I hope I'm right and this is an early cycle. If we have any chance at all of producing a baby "naturally" I think I did everything possible. Robitussin, preseed, stayed in bed with hips elevated, inserted divacup. Anybody got any other tricks? ;-)

I just hope I'm not too crushed if it doesn't work. I haven't been hoping very much for the past couple of months so being excited about it again is tricky.

Finally pregnant with #1 and #2! Due September 9th, 2014

Rachel, looks positive to me too! I second going to splurge on a better test!!!

Still BFNs here, only 10dpo, wishing these next few days would fly by. I had a ton of cramps yesterday and a bit of ewcm so I was just sure I was going to get AF early, but not yet. Just not feeling it all of a sudden.

Rochelle - I was so depressed yesterday - thought I was out, etc. so it's really not over until AF shows - here's to teh cramps being implantation!

Laggie - Here's to hoping!!! I think if you saw EWCM then you should do it

I used the last of my FRERs yesterday, so I have to run out and get some more - I'll report back when I do. The line dried really pink (yeah, I know it's after the time limit, but usually that doesn't happen for me) so I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm trying to not let DH know so that I can tell him on Father's Day - but frankly, I'm scared shitless that I'll lose the baby or it's all some big cosmic joke, kwim? I think I will believe it more when I have a darker line or a pregnant on a digi.

My positive lines always dry way way way darker then when I first take them. Most of the time I can barely tell if the dollar store test is positive until like an hour after I take the test. For me...it's actually more reliable to let it sit out for a while and THEN see what it says. It shows the pink much easier when dried!

Well almost O time again...jeeze, this is getting old!

The acupuncturist has given me chinese herbs for fertility and cycle regulation. I am supposed to start taking the next formula 3 days before O and take it until 3 days after. Now with my history, how the heck am I supposed to know when it is 3 days before O? I'm on cd11 now, OPK's are showing some (negative still) action though. I suppose I'lll wait and see how it goes tomorrow.
Oh and I've decided to get pregnant with a sticky baby this cycle. Oh wait...I think I've said that before.

Enigo, I am CD11 too.

I am trying to will sperm into existence this cycle (and every cycle)... enough sperm, healthy enough sperm, magically normal fertility whether we deserve it or not.... I know it's not really the same, but I pray for you to look back on this someday as the PAST, with a baby in your arms.

I'm glad you get to try something new. Do I remember right that you felt really good about the effects of the acupuncture so far?

I think you'll time it right if you wait for a near-positive OPK. Can you tell from experience if it's maybe one day before positive?

Wooo! CD11 club! I know I was just thinking today as I lay on the acupuncturist's table that this will all be a thing of the past soon enough. The acupuncture has been great. My mood has changed dramatically. My cylces too.
I think the OPK looks more like two days before O. It's so hard to tell, YKWIM?

Enigo since you know you can conceive, maybe this shift that's causing better cycles will be just the boost you need for the sticky part. I like to think that even mood can do a lot for TTC. ....I don't use OPKs but I've gotten the idea of their ups and downs. I think it's a lot like my fertile CM. Which I have today. It's still light, it's a little early for me, but it seems to predict O in 2-4 days.

IDK I've given the swimmers lots of chances. Maybe we have fewer than one. (I will say that there was a lady whose husband had a Vasectomy before their baby was born and it died in early infancy. They got a Reversal a few months later. They then had a sperm analysis with a count of Zero. And they got pregnant that same month and so far so good. I think she is due this fall.) I'm going to fantasize now that zero is enough and simply wait for the bfp to roll into my lap.

We haven't done a SA. Most likely we have a somewhat low count, which gives us a good chance long-term but it could take a while.

So I am pretty close to O and should BD tonight. Unfortunately DH is sick, some kind of infection with severe pain--something dental it looks like. He's on an antibiotic for now and has an appointment at dentist Tuesday. I really don't know if he is up for BD. He's feeling pretty rough.

Ok, now I'm passing the baby dust to you all - I expect to see you all in the March DDC! (I'm due Feb 28, but I'll be in the March DDC)

Littlestbirds - *crosses fingers you get some BDing in and your DH has some super sperm!*

Tear - when are you testing? I can't wait to see your BFP!

Enigo - go spermies go!
