Well I can't yet comment on the raspberry leaf tea yet but another tea that I swear by for cramps is the Traditional Medicinals PMS Tea (this is the same company I bought the raspberry leaf tea from).... this stuff helps my cramps way better than advil or tylenol and it has the added benefit of putting in me in a great mood... my DH always jokes that he should buy stock in that company cause if it ever went out of business our relationship might not survive my AF mood swings!

ETA: I hope that link wasn't against the rules...

OMG something just clicked in my brain... I remember on Monday I was sure it was CD1 then I was totally confused because in the afternoon my bleeding pretty much stopped but it came back a bit in the evening... so I put that day down as spotting on my chart.

Then yesterday I was even more sure it was CD1 because I was bleeding more than I had on Monday, but once again the bleeding stopped after lunch for a few hours, then came back in the evening. I put that day down as light on my chart, and FF gave me CD1.

Now this morning I had medium bleeding, but I changed my pad around lunch time and I just went to the washroom again and it turns out I haven't bled at all in the last 2-3 hours!

Then it occurred to me that all 3 of those days, I drank a cup of raspberry leaf tea right after lunch (I had never tried this tea in my life). And then I looked up some info about raspberry leaf tea and one of the things it does is:
- Decreases profuse menstrual flow.

Well, well well... Mystery solved!!!

I have SUCH heavy flow on the heavy days of my period (which should be starting tomorrow), maybe if I drink this tea non-stop for the next couple of days it will solve that problem! Though I wonder if there are any negative aspects to reducing the amount of menstrual flow...

my massage therapist told me that 5 or more days of even bleeding was healthiest. the point is to completely shed your wall each month. i'm not sure where the benefits of raspberry leaf come in, then. hmm . . .

Well I usually bleed for 8-12 days total (including spotting before and after the period), 4 of which are medium to extra extra heavy. If my period length & quantity were cut in half, I might be close to a normal period.

Wow, then maybe that's my problem? I only EVER bleed lightly for 2 days and then very lightly spot for 2 more days.... Is there any way to fix that? I don't really WANT to bleed longer but if it means a better chance at pregnancy then I'll have to give it a try... *off to google.

i got an arvigo massage a month before ttcing. i posted this to girls in queer parenting who were curious. do some research and see if it's something you're interested in! i can't say that it's worked for my fertility (yet), but i've heard too many accounts of this working wonders for other women.

if you go get the massage done once (the place i went to charged $140), the therapist will teach you how to do it yourself. so you never have to go back for this particular massage unless you want to.

the article that's linked mentions the upper torso massage, but that's not important for fertility. enjoy!

i first heard about the massage in an ethnography that i read called "birth in four cultures." the massage is very simple and gentle. if you don't do it gently, well, it's sort of like giving a rough massage to your liver. ha!

i just now found this great article/instruction about arvigo!
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m.../ai_n15394264/

it says to press your fingers as deeply as it is comfortable, but my therapist suggested to be as gentle as you can. it also depends on your body type. i can feel my hipbones and pubic bone fairly well, but you'd want to press a bit more if you're a curvier girl.

you do the massage from the right, the left, and then from your pubic bone. most women have an off-center uterus. mine leaned to the right and is too low, but getting better. basically, when i press down right above my pubic bone, it feels like a water balloon; no hollow space. if you think about all the tendons that are keeping your uterus in place, some can get more overstretched than others.

my therapist always does three strokes each away. she likes the number three. just look for a hollow space where you can sink in and go from there. i'm sure you'll figure it out with your schooling.

take time off from the massage during your period and around the time of ttc. during these times, you can do light, nurturing strokes. it's a good way to connect with your body.

another good website is http://www.arvigotherapy.com/

Well ladies, I'm out. Time to open a bottle of wine! We've decided that we can keep TTC as long as it takes - we're aiming for a summer babe because I'll be out of school then, but really a fall babe would be okay too since there's only one class I absolutely have to take in the fall. So anyway, bring on cycle #2!

Best wishes for everyone currently TWWing!

Ps - please move me to waiting to O

Pps: - ok, I'm not actually drinking as much as that icon implies. I couldn't find the wine-in-moderation icon.

Rubygirl36 - Thanks for the info on the massage! I'll definitely check it out for the next cycle... I'm willing to try anything at this point.

yellowdart - Sorry about AF! She sucks.

Babycakes and Lydiah - Good luck in the 2ww! Hopefully it's the last 2ww you'll have to endure.

AFM: I had a very dark positive OPK yesterday (the darkest I've ever seen for me). I had a few twinges yesterday, so I'm REALLY hoping I O'd yesterday, or maybe today. I'm still housesitting, so yesterday was the only day I could see DH for BD. My temp had a slight rise today, but I've been having slow rises recently, so I'm hoping that it's just the start of my slow rise. Only tomorrow's temp will tell...

I hope this is your month!!!!

7 DPO for me...FF says my test date is the 14th. One week to go. Nothing to report...no symptoms or anything for me. Gassy, but I've increased my fiber intake significantly in an attempt to eat healthier, so I assume it's from that rather than a symptom.

This was my first cycle using OPKs and after a bunch of almosts, I got a dark positive at like 8 pm on cd15. I marked and was like, ok, neat. The next morning I was like, ok it should be more faint -- and it was even DARKER. I was frazzled. So we dtd again, and then I went for a walk w/DD. I FELT O happen on that walk, it was insane. Twisty pinchy feelings and some crampiness. Later that night I had to do another opk just to make sure -- and sure enough it was negative. Weird! I felt the whole thing happen.

They say you can O anywhere from something like 6 to 72 hours from your FIRST positive OPK. And if you don't see that temp rise, do another one b/c it may just be a gear up and not the real deal. And as long as you keep getting positives, you know to keep bd'ing and not take a break!

I'm not going to temp anymore in the 2ww. It helps me stay sane, lol. It's never easy though -- I have to make sure my therm is far away from the bed and not set my alarm, and even then once I'm up, I'm like, maybe I should just see what it is...

yellowdart - sorry Wine is the only (and very small) perk for me, as well!

AFM - Can I be moved to Waiting to Know? I will defer to FF and consider myself 3DPO. I'm still confused by cm, but heck, maybe I'm wrong...its been known to happen Or maybe DH has super stretchy and clear semen

I really shouldn't obsess, since I was expecting to be out this cycle anyway...but I can't help it, its just who I am. So my best shot was BDing on O day...which I didn't do last cycle, and I didnt get preggo last cycle, so maybe this is a good thing. Maybe my egg will like waiting for some sperm, as opposed to the other way around.

Or maybe Im just a psychopath.

Either way...Im 2WWing. Lovely.

Hey bonadl/Lauren--I don't think it's necessarily unusual to have some EWCM after O.

I'm procrastinating at work today, and therefore having been googling EWCM after O.

From what I've read online, estrogen levels are what controls EWCM. According to several websites, there may be a second surge in estrogen about a week after ovulation. Therefore, you may have some more EWCM about a week past ovulation. So chances are it's perfectly normal.

Oh right I remember reading about the secondary estrogen surge when I read about the implantation dip on fertility friend:

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/...ation_dip.html

Here is the good news:
Quote:
Mid-luteal phase estrogen levels, however, have been found to be higher in conception cycles than non-conception cycles
So I guess EWCM after O can be a sign of higher estrogen which can be a sign of pregnancy.

I am also procrastinating at work

I am going to the chiro today to get my spine and pelvis adjusted. I have been reading online how it can be helpful for fertility. I got it done last month and I plan on going once a month. I plan to keep going once I get pregnant.

Stevi, I dont know about the US, but in Canada chiropractic is pretty affordable. On average about 30-50 dollars a visit. It is not covered by our healthcare here so people pay out of pocket. Maybe it would help you.I though about you because you mentioned you cant afford fertility exams and treatments.

Lydiah... Thank you. I actually saw a chiropracter fairly regularly last summer due to an auto accident. I don't know the cost, as it was part of the lawsuit...

I have a friend who gives me free adjustments every so often for free (she's a chiropracter.) She knows I'm TTC and has never mentioned using it for my fertility...

AAM... I'm begining to wonder if I'm going to have an annovulatory cycle. I'm on my fourth day of positive OPKs, still have a bit of EWCM when I look for it, and my temp hasn't risen yet. I'm on CD17, I regularly ovulate on CD13-14! I'm still BDing, but am not happy about my chances.

43 w/Emphysema - TTC from 2005 - 2013. 2 miscarriages in 2008. Good things do not come to those who wait.

I did read the other posts about the estrogen surge, just wanted to say I typically have one or two days of EWCM between 9 and 12 DPO. It is not quite like my O EWCM, but still there.

I love the chiro! I was not aware of it helping fertility, I just went last week, I hope that means good things! I am in the US and my Chiro is not covered under my insurance. She charges $45 a visit ($35 if you are pregnant) and there is a slightly higher charge the initial exam, I think it was around $55. To go once a month and feel great I think it is totally worth sacrificing something else, for me anyway.

EEEKKKK!!

AFM - I am waiting to know!!!! Finally! No clue what those extra 4 days of EWCM were, but DH and I hung in there and got some BDing in the last two days it was around. According to my charting method I am 2 days past peak, but officially I will say I am 1dpo. My O symptoms were intense. I do not always feel O pain, but really did yesterday and was hit like a brick with nausea and soar bbs after and still today, I hope that means the hormones are really kicking and good things are happening!

Lydiah - Glad to hear you had such strong O symptoms. I really hope this is your month!

Stevi - Sorry to hear you're having such a LONG fertile period -- that can be so frustrating. I hope you get your temp rise tomorrow!

Thanks to all for their words of wisdom on the EWCM. I never noticed it before, but doesn't mean it wasn't there. Don't think it's semen as we haven't BDed for a week. Either way, I'll just have to wait it out. I am not optimistic about my chances this cycle, so I'm just going to assume it's nothing.

Stevi, I didnt know about the pelvic adjustments until I told my chiro we were trying to get pregnant. I used to just get normal adjustements until then. Then he offered to do a technique with the activator for the purpose of TTC. He applies it to different parts of my pelvis and then measures up my legs to check if I need further adjustment. Ask your friend about it. I hope you O real soon.

Hey Everyone!

I've been consumed by school this week..clinical weeks always seem to be like that! But it's good, because it gives me something else to think about while I wait to O!
