Welcome to the February Thread
heartbeat.gif

This is a thread for those who have been TTC for a long time, whether 6 months, 12 months, or more. At this point many of us are at or past 1 or 2 years, many have had losses, many are dealing with various forms of infertility, and some are just in a waiting period until they can TTC again.

The name? Well, all things considered we tend to be a little bitter sometimes. So read with care. And due to everything, our emotions run a little raw like sushi. Too many cycles of BFN and CD1 sushi & sake to console ourselves. This TTC business is something that seems to "just happen" for so many...but we just can't seem to get it right. So this is where we can be together, share and express anything.

Oh, girl. Sending a prayer up for you now.

#180 ·
Oh Grahnola! I was actually thinking about you today and trying to stalk you on the TTC after loss forum. I am so sorry you are going through this. I won't say that it's probably nothing because I know you've been there many times before and have probably heard those words before. Worrying right there with you.

Grahnola, I bled several times during the pregnancy with my son. The first was somewhere around ~10 weeks, I think it was. It really freaked me out, but he was fine. Hoping for you.

#183 ·
<3 Grahnola

For those of you who are doing IVF/IUI/etc when they have you come in for a blood test do you get results right away, or do you have to wait? I know my friend who conceived naturally had to wait 2 days for her betas, but that was different from this.

#184 ·
I get results that afternoon on stuff like betas. In by 10 am, results by 3 pm.

In my personal experience, spotting = miscarriage.

In my professional experience, spotting closely follows the general stats...bleeding = miscarriage about 50% of the time.

I hope its ok.

#185 ·
At the ivf doc, blood work by 10, results by 2

When I was m/c'ing it took the regular ob three days to get my results back. When the nurse drew my blood and I started to cry she became to tell me about her accidental pregnancy when she was young and how it turned out OK with her son. I guess she thought I was a college student who accidentally got knocked up, not a marred mom who has been ttc for three years.

Anyway, I think it depends on if they have a lab, but I would think that any RE does.

Blood results negative, on to round 2! YESSS I can have a drink after spending 8 hours straight without a break shooting a wedding today, and I can go off this nasty prometrium for a while :D /happydance

(I figured it'd be neg, oh well!)

Hello all! I am back from the trip and we had an amazing time! You ladies must have really been praying and wishing for me hard, because it turned out to be fantastic! I did not bother to temp at all. Which was kind of freeing in a way. And DH's grandma said she thinks our next child will be a girl. Which kind of renewed my hope that I really might get to have another child one day.

However, I am on (unbelievable as it sounds) CD85. Yes, I said 85. And I had a BFN the day before we left. I actually still have not ovulated so I don't even know why I tested. I just couldn't stop myself, even though I know I have not even O'ed yet! Ugh. This is the longest cycle I have had since charting. So I don't know what to do. I know I can go to the obgyn and he can probably give me something to help me start. I need to think about how much longer I am willing to give it before I do that. I hate taking provera. I have taken it twice before to help me start. It makes me a crazy person.

I'm also still considering clomid, although I'm supposed to go to acupuncture on Tuesday, so I think I am going to see how I like the acupuncturist and see how I feel about it. Hopefully that will help me start. I know everybody else here is just wishing for AF not to come, and I am seriously praying for it! I just need this crazy long cycle to do *something* and at this point, I just don't feel like I am going to O. So, that's what is going on with me. Thanks for listening everyone. I know my story probably gets kind of old. Long cycle, BFN. Repeat.

Another bit of good news though, my DH has a 2nd interview for the job in DFW! If we end up moving soon, I will be so excited to be close to my old acupuncturist, plus near fertility docs/clinics! Everybody keep everything crossed!

Grahnola thinking of you and praying.

Lava thinking of you too girl. And no, we actually were in Northern California! My DH is not from Tx originally. Just got here as fast as he could! But if we move back to Dallas we can totally have a playdate if you come in town!

rcr I am super excited for you and your little emby! I hope it snuggles down and gets comfortable! I also really love all the discussion about it, because I feel like one day I may be doing the same thing. And it's so fascinating anyway.

mba & kparker sorry for the BFNs. MBA I haven't given up hope for you yet.

Ceccy I agree with those who said you may have PCOS. I have super long cycles, obviously. You also may have a thyroid issue. I don't know much about pre-menopause or early menopause but 30 does seem awfully young for that. Don't give up hope. I hope you can find a doc who will do some testing and help you out.

Everybody else thinking of you and hoping!!!

miriam, have you see this FF study? http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/When_can_I_expect_a_positive_HPT_if_I_am_pregnant.html It claims 13+DPO for a first + HPT.
fingersx.gif

kparker, sorry about the - test. I hope you enjoyed your drink. I hardly ever drink alcohol (quickly tipsy
orngtongue.gif
), don't drink coffee/caffeine, etc. Sometimes I feel like I haven't given up anything for TTC, as so many have, and maybe that's why it's not working. Totally illogical, but I often have weird ideas. I still go through the emotional ups and downs and take my temperature each morning (not that it's been worth recording these past days with my sickness), but still.

lilmom, glad your trip was great.

#195 ·
Reading along everyone. Not much to report on my end so I haven't bothered posting. I am rooting for you all and reading your stories with interest.

AFM - I managed to get all of my soy pills taken on time. Most of the few temps I have recorded so far this cycle have been way too high for pre-O (today's was 98.0), and I'm not sick. If I had anymore cheapie HPTs I'd test b/c I'm obsessive that way, but I don't want to waste the expensive HPT that I have on hand. Anyway, I told DH about my BD every day between CDs 10 and 18 plan. He didn't give me too much flack. And today is CD 10, so we'll see. I'm sure we won't get all the BDs in that I want, but even if we hit half of them it will be more than usual. I'm curious if I'm O'ing at a different time than my temps suggest. Maybe this wider BD window will catch something.

#196 ·
Thank you so much for the prayers and thoughts. No more spotting but been on the couch vomiting all weekend - no pains/cramps just really, really sick and totally exhausted. It's totally weird. 8 weeks today - I am so tempted to call my Dr and get an u/s.

Hugs to all.

#198 ·
LTB - I would agree with you except for the past 2-3 cycles that I did check it, it ripened early and stayed ripe for a while. The main reason I'm cutting back on signs to check is that I'm trying to be a little less crazy. Maybe the 9 days or whatever it is of BD defeats that purpose, not sure??

hi BSLs:

I am back to work (and to my computer) from my post-transfer break. I have been reading along, and posting a little from my phone, but I haven't made any changes to the front page. Do we have any new members that need to be added to the front page? Any changes?

Grahnola - how are you?

AFM - just enduring the worst tww ever for me. beta is on Friday. I have a stressful meeting with my jerk-ey boss today, and I am trying to relax.

Sweet.bee - Hi, just wanted to check in on you and see how your TTC is going. If I don't get preggo soon I think I will be joining this thread also. Anyway I just wanted to check in with you and see how your doing.

Hi, ZoeJane'sMommy!
wave.gif
It would be nice to have you here, but I hope you get pregnant soon.

Not much is happening with me. I'm in the 2WW right now apparently, but not sure how many days. I think 5DPO. I had a high fever for 3 days around ovulation, so I had to guess on when to put it on my chart. I'm not too optimistic right now, though. Just the attitude that it hasn't happened yet, so why would this cycle? Esp. with both of us sick, the not-so-great timing, and then my husband's fever probably killed all the sperm anyway and my heightened immune system the ones that did make it through.
greensad.gif

How are you doing? How's the Clomid working for you?

Edit: Forgot to mention, I have an appointment with a specialist at the end of May (very long waiting list), and I'm glad to be going for help finally.
