Thanks for the new thread!

Thought I would post an update, since it's been awhile... I'm 11 dpo.  So far, I've either surpassed my longest postpartum LP or I'm coming up to it tomorrow... I posted a question in a new thread about how to calculate LP, since I'm re-thinking the one cycle where I had decided I had a 12 day LP because I'm not sure if I should have included the day(s) where I had some spotting.  If anybody has any info on this, I'd sure be interested in it...  I'm tempted to test early, but I'm worried I will jinx myself.  However, on Friday we have an appointment with our fertility doc to talk about a game plan if we are to have any hope for a sibling for our DS.  (I wish I had time on my side, but I don't...)  Anyhow, it would be good to know if I was pregnant or not, I'm thinking!  I have to admit, I am feeling a *little* hopeful since there is no sign of AF yet.  Well, I shouldn't say that with 100% certainty-- I have had some mild twinging sensations happening in my lower abdomen these last couple of days; I keep thinking they are AF cramps but I don't have them for days before AF starts, though.  Another thing, I had the weirdest taste in my mouth this morning-- like blood in my mouth, even though there wasn't.  I'm chalking that mostly up to the fact I hadn't brushed my teeth right after waking up, though.  I'm sure I'm totally capable of creating some psychsomatic signs, which is why I'm not putting a lot of stock into it... just a little.  I just want to be pregnant and have another baby so badly, and before my eggs decide their all going to go 'kaput' on me...

Hope everyone else is doing well.  Anybody planning on testing in the next few days?

I'm now in the 2WW (fingers crossed)!!  I had a very significant temp rise last night (I think thanks to an acupuncture appt).  I took out that random high temp and got my CH :)  I did have some really light spotting yesterday but I'm going to stay optimistic and hope my treatment last night will take care of it.

Hi ladies!  TenzinsMama, I am 11 DPO too!  FF is saying to wait until 8/10 to test, which would be 17 DPO, but I would like to test at 14 DPO.  I had some EWCM yesterday and it has otherwise been creamy since I ovulated.  I am starting to feel a little crazy and wanting test, but I don't think I can handle seeing a negative test, I would rather just hold out for my period!  My LP was 12 days last month (my first post-miscarriage cycle).  The cross hairs on my chart are still dashed since I put in the EWCM data yesterday.  What do you all think?

Ava's Mama, I know what you mean about wanting to test but then being afraid to, and thinking it is better to just get AF if it is going to come rather than have two crushing things.  I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that's SO hard, especially to go so long and think you are in the clear... I really hope you receive good news this cycle!

So, I was thinking that if I am going to get a bfp this cycle, my testing day should be the 9th-- next Tuesday.  That would be when I'd be 17 days past O.  I thought it would be fun today if I had tested early and received a bfp, because it is my son's first birthday and it would be fun knowing that his later 'gift' would be a sibling.  However, if there was only 1 line showing, I'd feel so disappointed and I don't want anything to spoil this special day.  Then, I'm thinking that I should test before our appointment at the fertility clinic tomorrow morning, but, again... too afraid.  I'm really thinking that 14dpo seems pretty reasonable to me, given my short LPs since ppaf... but then, there are reasons why FF and our fertility clinic suggest waiting the 17 days, right?  Even if we used a sensitive HPT?  I guess because the levels of HCG can vary so much, by 17 dpo it should be high enough in most people with most HPTs?  I really do think I should wait...

What do you think you are going to do?

UPDATED!!

TenzinsMama - It is soooo hard to decide to test.  I don't think I could hold out past 12 DPO personally, but I have a short LP.  I do think that being disappointed today would be hard b/c it's your little guys birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him and HAPPY BIRTH DAY to you!!!  So exciting.  Also, I have a friend who was TTC for a while and at her first RE appointment, she found out she was pregnant when she did the standard urine test.  So, that could be you too!!!  fingersx.gif  Also, I try to think, if I am pregnant, then the test won't change between now and when I decide to test.  So, testing won't "speed it up" or make it happen if that makes any sense?  Good luck!  I will be thinking about you.

Ava's Mamafingersx.gif.  Good luck and keep us posted.  I hope August is the month of the BFP.  I got my BFP in late August with my DD.  Would LOVE to be among the success stories with you!

zoe77 - Yay!  Hope you have a nice, long LP and a sticky bean at the end of it!

Niniel - bummer.  Hope you O really soon!

AFM, no +OPK so far (have taken 9!). Hoping today is the day.  I've had LOTS of EWCM for the past few days.  I'm really bummed b/c last cycle, my LP was only 7 days.  I've been taking B50 Complex since the start of this cycle with the hopes of my LP getting longer.  I'm now on CD 18 and I O'ed on CD 20 last cycle.  So, I'm not expecting any B50 miracles :(  Also, I find it hard to BD without knowing that an egg is coming when BDing and TTC seems so forced and contrived.  I am really hopeful that today I will get that +OPK and that my cycle might be a little longer this month. Hopefully, it will be long enough for implantation to be successful.  I also got some NPC to start right after I O in hopes that it will help with the short LP.  For those of you doing acupuncture, are you going to a fertility specialist for that?  I'm considering it for next cycle.  There is a very inexpensive community acupuncture place near me, but not sure how good it would be for fertility issues.

I think with my DD I tested positive on 13 or 14 DPO (I didn't chart at that time the way I do now).  With my 2nd pregnancy (the one that ended in a miscarriage) I held out on testing until the suggested test date from FF which was 16 DPO.  From what I have read it seems that most tests will be pretty accurate at 14 DPO.  The only thing holding me back this month is that I O'd a little earlier than previous cycles, so even if I tested at 14 DPO it would only be CD 26, so I feel like I should wait until FF suggested date.  TenzinsMama, do you want to be testting buddies?  Anyone else want to join us?  When do you want to test?  14 DPO or FF suggested date?  We can keep each other strong!

SKJ - I go to acupuncture and I love it.  I had a lot of hip and back pain with my DD and I just chose this particular practice because they were in my network (even though insurance didn't end up covering it).  Anyways, I have been seeing him again since getting my first PPAF in December and it does turn out the fertility is one of their specialties.  I have a friend that owns a community clinic and her specialty is fertility as well, so it might be worth asking the community clinic about it!

Thanks!  I will check it out.  I tried acupuncture for terrible pregnancy headaches and it didn't to much for those, although I was very relaxed during the sessions.  If I don't get my BFP this month, I will be adding on acupuncture.

My acupuncturist does specialize in fertility.  It is very relaxing, amazing with all those pins stuck in you :)  I had some spotting already today, so it's not looking so good for me.  I had very light spotting yesterday also and my acupuncturist did a "stop bleeding" treatment last night.  I guess it didn't work :(  It's looking like I really will have to fully wean in order to conceive again.  Not the end of the world, but very frustrating when everyone around you IRL is getting pregnant while nursing way more often than I currently am.

zoe - how old is your DC?  And, how many PP cycles have you had?  My DD is 15months and I'm on my 4th PP cycle.  But, I only charted last cycle, so I don't have much info to go on.  It seems like everyone is different in terms of how their body works TTC and nursing.  Some people get pregnant no problem and others aren't able to conceive until their DC is older.  It's so frustrating.  I really hope your body starts to work with you on this!  hug2.gif

SKJ - My son turned 3 yesterday and I got my first PP AF a year ago this week.  I finally get in to see a midwife at the end of this month so maybe she will have some ideas.  Thanks for the encouragement!!

Just wanted to check in and say that I got a +OPK today!  I'm really excited b/c I've been testing for the last 10 days.  I'm on CD 18 and I O'ed on CD20 last cycle, so I'm really hoping that this cycle is longer than my last one (27 days).  I'm planning on using NPC as soon as I know that I've O'ed.  I'm feeling really hopeful.  I conceived my DD in August, so maybe this is my baby making month! fingersx.gif

Thanks for the new thread :)

I've decided to try this cycle if I O while we are in town. We are going away for a couple of short trips and our donor won't be traveling with us obviously ;) So, I'm not sure we'll be able to do any insems but if the timing is right we'll try. My m/c lasted pretty much exactly the same as my regular af does...just REALLY heavy. I feel pretty good about trying again. I can be moved to Waiting to O, please!

I did weekly acupuncture by a fertility specialist when TTC DD and I'm doing it again with the same doctor. I'm also doing chinese herbs. Both have a great effect on my well being and my cycles!

Ava'sMama and TenzinsMama....I hope you both get a BFP this cycle! orngbiggrin.gif

SKJ: Hooray for a positive opk! I get so excited when I see one too!

Carmen - Your positivity is inspiring!  I'm so glad to hear that you are ready to jump in to trying again.  I hope the timing works out for you this cycle.  I feel like lots of people get pregnant with a sticky bean the cycle after a miscarriage.  Thinking good thoughts for you and sending lots of dust.gif

FF still hasn't given me CH :(  My temp was a little lower today than it was yesterday.  But it's still well above my pre O temps.  No spotting so far today :)  My acupuncturist says that due to the spotting already my chances are low this month, but there is still a chance.  Trying to stay optimistic . . .

SKJ - Sure!!  I couldn't figure out how people get the chart button.  Good to hear that I still have a chance for CH.  Yesterday I threw away that high temp and got them.  But today even with the discarded temp they were taken away.  But with the +OPK I'm pretty sure I did O.  Only 10 more days to obsess over it!! :)

Hi!  I am 12 DPO today and I gave in and took a test this morning and I got a negative.  not surprising this early, but my temp went more, so it was wishful thinking.  I just have one more test so I am going to hold off testing again until next Wedenesday, which is the day FF suggests.  I am sort of mad at myself for wasting a test, I know better!

Thanks SKJ!  I am thankful that it is the busy weekend, so hopefully that will keep my mind off of it a little.  Sunday will be 14 DPO, so if I don't have an AF by then and my temps are still rising I might test again.

Checking in here. CD 34 and still nothing. Well, except tons of nausea, headaches and cramps? I had one day of EWCM but no +opk.

Anyone wanna try to make heads or tails (is that the saying?) out of this crazy chart? I started bleeding from my miscarriage on July 3rd, so keep that in mind.

Where did everyone go? Busy and trying not to obsess like me perhaps? I am on CD5 today. I totally missed O last month. I think I Oed but I can't be sure. My last cycle was 42 days long. I wish I knew what my LP was! The previous cycle it was only 6-7 days so I've been taking a B6 vitamin that I already had in my medicine cabinet in addition to my prenatal. Does anyone know if most prenatals have enough of the other B vitamins to help the B6 be effective or do I really need to get a B Complex vitamin?

Good luck waiting to test ladies and here's to hoping you get your BFP!

texasfarmom---I have some Q's about B6 as well.  Hope you get some answers. :)

I've been taking 100mg of B6 for about two months and have not seen any difference in my 8-day luteal phase.  I have been taking vitamin D3, Rhodiola and DHEA (for 5mos) also for the luteal phase.  Ugh.  PPAF came but I'm wondering how long I'll have these short LH phases!  I take progesterone from O until AF, maybe it's not enough?

Ava's Mama, I would love to be a testing buddy!  And... I'm finding it so ironic that we both tested this morning!  I really wanted to know if I had a bfp, before our fertility doc appointment, but all I got was a stinking bfn.  Oh, how disappointing that was!  I was totally deflated and the only thing that kept me from getting really despondent was that it was 4 am and our little guy was nestled in our bed between us and I had to lay there quietly so he would fall back asleep.  Luckily, I did soon after, too... Aggh, that's why I don't think it is in my best interest to test early, I don't like that feeling!  Anyway, sorry you got a bfn too... there's still hope for us though.  I've been reading more and more that it can take longer-- which is good to know, because on this forum it seems like a great number of women can test early and get a bfp, and I kind of forget that even our fertility clinic advises the HPT to be done 17 or 18 days past.  Oh, I was going to mention, I think I may be 12 dpo and not 13 like I originally thought, based on going back and re-thinking my chart.  It's a little bit hard to know, because I didn't temp this cycle, just did the OPK and monitored CF and secondary fertility signs.  So we may be exactly in the same spot in our cycle!  So, you are going to wait until Wednesday?  I think I will go ahead and test on Monday, if AF continues to stay away... today my doc said I should go on progesterone cream if I am pregnant, so I would want to get that sooner rather than later... and she said I should know something by Monday.  I was going to ask, what brand of HPT did you use?  I used FRER, thinking that since it *can* be accurate up to 5 days before a missed period, it should have a pretty good sensitivity-- but maybe for some of us we just don't have enough hcg in our system yet?  I sure hope we get bfps!

SKJ, yay for + OPKs!!!  Hopefully you will be 'busy' over the next while and you catch that egg!

Carmen, thanks for the encouragement.  I hope you are doing much better, and that this cycle works out for you with the donor and all.

Well, I must go to bed.  My little guy has been sleeping for the last couple of hours and that is what I should be doing, too!  Good night, everyone!

Tenzins mama I gave in and tested this morning again and it was still negative. My temps are still rising and I am on 13 dpo. I am officially on my last test, so yes I am going to hold off until wednesday! I think I gave been extra crazy because both nights this weekend we have social stuff that I would be drinking some at so I wanted to make sure that I wasn't officially pregnant yet! I hope you have more patience than me. The fact that my temps have been constantly rising makes it even harder!! Ahhh!

TenzinsMama & AvasMama--thanks for posting your updates, I'm hoping for BFPs for you both. :)

Ibreed--Welcome to MDC. :)  I'm sorry for your loss.

IMO, your chart looks like your body is gearing up to O again.  Hope you see O soon!

AFM--I think I may have O'd yesterday but not sure.  Would anyone like to take a guess and view my chart? http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/32af8f

Yesterday the OPK was dark but not "dark enough" to be (+), so I charted it as (-).  My temps have been a little wacky, I think due to coming back from vacation and charting between 5-6:30 some AMs vs. at 5am every morning.  I'm not sure whether to start the progesterone yet....

Thanks!
