hello, ladies. i'm new here and will be starting my first dose of clomid tomorrow evening (cd 3-7). i have been ttc for a year (we got pregnant naturally and VERY quickly in aug 2010 but sadly it was a blighted ovum - and since then... nothing). curious if anyone has any clomid success stories to share or if anyone else is in the same boat and would like to hang out with me. i'm feeling very positive today... i want to keep the positivity going!

Hi Indie,

I was on Clomid when TTC my second DD after 10 months of trying without meds. Got pregnant the very first Clomid cycle!  I hope it works as well for you!

Hi, its my first cycle too. Im doing 100mg day 5-10. Today is cycle day 10 for me. I am also very hopeful and trying hard to relax, to stop evaluating every twinge and to stop visualizing my ovaries. Good luck!

indie- I'm on cycle 2 of clomid, same Rx as  you--- 50mg CD3-7, took my first last night, so far no side effects. I had none through the whole course first go round, sadly no BFP. We are reluctantly going with IUI this cycle & praying for a sticky egg. Wishing you the best!

good luck sherry!

Are either of you doing monitoring as well? I have U/S next Monday (11/14) and hopefully trigger then IUI Wednesday AM.

Sherry- I wonder if it it the higher dosage or that you do days 5-10- I hope your side effects go away fast!

I'm on CD6 and day 4 of clomid, so far still just night sweats, no other side effects. I didn't have any my first time around, so here is hoping! I wonder if it the earlier days or that I'm only on 50mg that are giving me fewer side effects.

GOOD LUCK FOR O really soon!!!!

took my last pill last night (today is cd8). ever since my m/c i have had weird cyclical pain that happens on some cycles but not all. i haven't noticed it much in recent cycles but it is back now so i'm wondering what that's about. the pain isn't horrible or anything, just noticeable because i NEVER got any kind of pain prior to the m/c. i've been checked out six ways to sunday and have been told that it's nothing to worry about... but of course, i wonder...

can't wait for friday so to see how things are progressing follicle - wise :)

happy healthy baby vibes to you all :)

Hi everyone. I am in agony! Headache! Nausea! And still no ovulAtion. I am usualy day 14 with a positive opk day 12 or 13. OPK twice a day negative and no temp change. I must be psychotically emotional too. I think i need to cry but it would hurt my head too much.

@indie when in the cycle is your pain? I have had e
unexplained pain since my tubal reversal mid cycle- also been worked up. They feel it is ovarian. And that it actually why i am doing
the clomid this cycle.

Cbaa. I'm not sure. After reading several articals about clomid start dates i wish i had started on day 3.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. I HOPE AT LEAST ONE OF US POSTS A BFP!!!

oh wow, sherry, that sounds miserable! i've heard somewhere that you could feel the side effects up to a week after the last pill... hopefully it will all subside soon. my pain is typically after my period ends but when i have it, it seems to go on for longer than what a typical ovulation pain should last (and it also occurs earlier than mid-cycle...) i spent a lot of time worrying about it (actually was convinced i had endometriosis or ovarian cancer or something equally as scary!) but my ovaries are normal size and i don't have anything that shows up on ultrasound and i don't hurt to be touched in pelvic exams or anything... so who knows. it's just odd that i've never had this issue in all my years until after having a m/c.

anyhoo, i'm super excited/anxious about my u/s on friday. i just want to be told that everything looks good! i like doing well on tests of any kind! :)

Sherry- pre-ovulation always gives me a headache, hopefully it is just your estrogen reacting well and building a nice thick lining-- taking clomid 5-10 can delay O, so be patient and get to your bedroom!

indie- I hope it is a follicle getting big and mature!

I take my last pill tonight, I'll be so happy to go on to post Clomid, pre-O territory! I was very emotional yesterday and today, which I haven't had before- I just keep crying over little things, not even sad crying, just 'tears streaming down my face' crying.

cbaa - you know... now that i think of it, i have had an underlying sad feeling... like if i stop to think about it long enough i will find SOMETHING to get me to the 'tears streaming down my face' place... i didn't attribute it to the clomid but that might be exactly what it is! when do you go in for an u/s?

Better today but still no sign of O. I have a feeling poor DH is going to start hiding from me. YES YES!! I' just could cry or be anxious: insert reason here
/// today i felt teary and knew it was just hormonal but then a WALMART veterans day ad pushed me over the edge. Good luck to you both with US and last pill transition. I hate the 2WW and the wait to O seems worse. I decided to try preseed with the clomid in case it dries me up. Im going to have to get more at this rate.

hi girls, how's it going? i had my ultrasound yesterday. the doc said it looked like i will ovulate soon and that the clomid appreared to be "doing its job" so that's encouraging. he said my cf was ok, that he'd like to see it thinner though and so he gave me a prescription for estridol. this was a different doc (same practice) that put me on clomid. this doc gave me a prescription for femera for next cycle i don't get preggo this time. he said femera is better bc it doesn't have the same issues with cf and thinning the lining like clomid has. have any of you heard this?

we did the deed this am, still trying to maintain our every other day schedule but it's hard! neither of us like to have scheduled sex... it totally takes the fun out of it! i'm hoping to have clear indication that i ovulate this cycle (i.e. sharp pain would be nice!) since i'm not temping...

how is everyone else doing?

Yay Indie! Again, I'm so jealous of your u/s so early! Did they give you follicle measurements or anything? I wish I had some estradiol, I worry about my lining. Will they do another ultrasound to check your follicles or do you just take care of business at home from here on out? Good Luck! I discussed Clomid vs Femara with my Dr, he suggested I try clomid first as it has been more comprehensively studied, but I was leaning toward Femara, I hope you don't need to use it anyway!

sherry- any O yet??

I've got a hormone headache today... hopefully it is some estrogen kicking in to thicken up my lining and mature these eggs so I can trigger Monday.

Other than that not much going on here. I'll let you know how the u/s goes Monday!

cbaa - thinking about you today! let us know how it goes!

i didn't get measurements from the doc but i really wish i had. it was the first time i met with this particular doctor and although he was super nice, it felt rather rushed. all i know is that he said on my left ovary i had follicles that measured 1cm and that were some days away from being matured but then looked at my right ovary and that's when he was like "oh these are good, you will probably ovulate really soon" i wish so much now that i had pinned him down on exactly what he saw! i don't have any more appts at this point... i'm kicking myself now for not charting. i wish i could know for sure when i ovulate. i felt small twinges last night but nothing significant enough to make me sure that i O'd (i've never really felt ovulation pain before, so i'm not even sure what counts, you know?). all i know is that when i was charting unmedicated cycles, i tended to ovulate around cd12/cd13. today is cd 13. we've been good about keeping our bd schedule... but mercy we would both like a break!

if i don't get preggers this cycle and i switch to the fermera that he prescribed, i think i will call in and ask about having additional monitoring...

i'll be looking forward to reading your update later today!!

Indie that sounds great! Those were your measurements from Friday, right? I would guess you should have O'd already. How long are you taking the Estradiol for?  Do you still have EWCM or has it changed to creamy? That is usually a sign for me. although I'm not sure if you are taking estradiol if it will stay EW...

I had 1.96 on the left, 1.5 on left, and 2  at 1.5 on the right. They told me to trigger tonight, IUI on Wednesday at 930am. My estrogen was only 286 which pretty much sucks (supposed to be around 500), so my guess is that my lining also sucks, but I didn't ask. I'm not sure why I didn't respond as well this cycle but I guess I just hope that it thickens up and find a sticky baby in there. I started taking some things to hopefully boost my estrogen. Time will tell!

Keep me updated!

cbaa - how exciting! is there a reason why you are not on estrodiol? my prescription is to take one every day but i could've sworn the doc said something about first half of the cycle when i met with him. it sounds like you are familiar with it... what have you heard about when to take it? i'm curious what your experience will be like with IUI since that may be in my future... please report back on all the gory details :)

AFM - i'm am going to go ahead and declare that I ovulated sometime around cd11 or cd12 making me now 2 or 3dpo. i hate that i haven't been temping to know this for sure but the rest of my signs all point to cd11 or 12. i would imagine since i can and do ovulate on my own (though i have had some annovulatory cycles this past year) that i wouldn't suddenly *not* ovulate on clomid... but i wonder... if i didn't ovulate would AF come early or late? the annovulatory cycles i've had previously were always really short cycles - like between 17 and 20 days. when i was ovulating (at least according to fertility friend) my cycles are between 24 and 28 days. i guess i'm wondering this because i'm not getting any tests to confirm ovulation and it seems like this would be important information to have prior to going on another medicated cycle?

thoughts anyone?

@sherry how is everything going for you?

I asked my RE about estradiol and he said that my estrogen was almost at 500 last month and my lining was 6mm which was acceptable for 3 days before ovulation... I just wish I could've had some, oh well. I've been trying some 'natural remedies' to improve estrogen etc, but I'm not sure in 2 days how much of a difference it will make... its supposed to be used the whole time. Oh well. We will see what tomorrow brings. I know a lot about a lot (regarding my knowledge on estradiol), too much time with infertility and TTC forums!

I would bet money that you ovulated this month, welcome to the 2ww. I'll join you there tomorrow, woohoo!

cbaa - how did the IUI go??

i should be 3 or 4dpo but the only post-O symptom i have is acne (yay). i would have figured i would have sore breasts by now because of progesterone? ugh. i have definitely entered into obsession overdrive.

Gory details-- lets just say the loss of sleep and anxiety this morning was for nothing, it was such a non-event. I'm not sure what it would be like for you, since it sounds like you actually saw your RE for your appts (or atleast another doctor)- I only see my RE to set up treatment, from there on out it is phonecalls from the nurse and visits with techs (phlebotomists, ultrasound). Today I had a nurse- 19 yrs old at best, who did my IUI. I got there, did my copay- she brought me back to an exam room, went over DH's sperm numbers (A+) undress from the waist down- yada yada, double checked that I am who I say I am with the name on the vial of DH's swimmers (again), feet in the stirrups, set up the speculum, and then we just were talking so I would be distracted (my choice), I really felt pretty much nothing, I didn't feel the catheter at all, I felt a teeny bit of cramps while she was actually injecting the sperm concoction (which looked like a teaspoon of water in the little vial), and then ta da, I was done... She said I could lay there a few minutes if I wanted but it wasn't necessary, and she set up my blood test for 2 weeks. So uneventful! I still don't want to do it again... but I'm so glad it was easy.

What is your test day? Mine is the 30th, but I'm like 4 days behind you! I usually get sore boobs too and last time the trigger shot gave me wicked sore nips, but so far they were tingly yesterday and then nothing today... weird.. I have been very crampy today since around noon, hopefully it is all 4 of my little follies bursting to life!

Hi sorry ive been MIA. I'm sooo disappointed. I'M rather sure per my chart that I O'd sunday. Unfortunately DH away for the weekend so unless some super sperm survived from thursday night i guess i'm out. I never thought it would be so late. I OPK'D til Friday all negative. I usually get a positive day 12. I never would have thought day 20.
Congrats on the follicles! I hope they are soon to be sticky babes. Isn't it funny how we start thinking aboit our plan for next cycle in the midst of the current one as though thinking there wont be a next cycle would jinx the whole thing!
Good luck ladies ill update if there is any news to share.

PS I'm glad i had the preseed on hand. I did dry up.

Very encouraging! Thank you for sharing.

We have been TTC for 10 months and my doc offered to put me on Clomid, I haven't decided yet if I am willing to give it a try. I guess I am afraid of all the side effects.

cbaa - i'm kind of envious... you got to bypass two big obstacles that i'm worried about... cm issues and cervix! i'm really excited for you, i bet this will be your month! my official test day should be the 26th or 27th but i'm planning on testing on Thanksgiving (even that will a stretch for me to wait that long!)

sherry - hopefully the sperm and the egg will meet... stranger things have happened! and it IS funny how we start planning for the next cycle so as to not jinx things... i'm trying to commit wholeheartedly to the possibility of a bfp this cycle but... that's just HARD, right? i'm pulling for you!

msdolphin - so far, i haven't had any wicked side effects... actually, i find myself wishing i had more side effects just so i could be sure that something was happening!

msdolphin- I didn't have any crazy side effects... only hot flashes and a day or 2 feeling emotional- but not 'outburst' emotional, just a little off. Good Luck!

indie- I am glad to pass over those 2 things, it is just hard to feel hopeful after so much failure- it doesn't help that I am unsure of the egg quality and my lining.. gah- welcome to the 2ww, right? Are you on progesterone (I forget), I start mine tomorrow- let the side effects begin!

Hi Ladies,
Any updates? I am CD 28. Usually my af day but since i O'd so late im going to af late. Im just ready to start next cycle. I' m headed out if town for the holiday so i have my Clomid packed.
. I think i'm going to be a non-compliant patient and start on day 3 instead of 5. That also increases your chance of twins. :-)

I am still hoping and wishing for you!!
