Thank you for the ((HUG)) Waturmama smile.gif . I started the soy isoflavones tonight ... 160 mg  I am taking the 2cd through the 6cd ... I hope this is the month!! I have a sono scheduled in March, So it would sure be nice to see a heartbeat ... In the mean time I am keeping busy this month ... My DH is getting me a brand new yorkie for Valentines day ... I named him "sir Prince Henry" I cant wait for my new little puppy, and I plan on to do the fertile yoga every morning and a nice work out in the afternoon or vice versa ... So saying in shape and getting a puppy this month should disract me from all the racing thoughts I have... also if my sono looks good I am going to ask for a hcg test from my doctor before I spend money on the IUI ... so I just pray all this happens VERY VERY SOON !! Thank you for letting me vent ... <3 to you all and baby dust and praying for BFP's for everyone!!

Sounds so positive. Yay about the puppy! I am curious about the fertile yoga. That sounds like a lovely way to start the day. Where did you learn that?

Shell77...   Be careful with the Soy doseage. I took it the last two cycles and it seems to have caused abnormal cervical bleeding this cycle (the second one using Soy). I had used it in the past, using 80mg for 5 days, but these last two times I used incrementally rising doses. You can find the amounts on previous posts I made in the One Thread, but the lowest was 40mg (I think) and the highest was 200mg. Anyway, it threw my cycle out of wack. I spotted for 4-5 days after AF ended, and am just now getting fertile CM which hopefully will lead to ovulation. I normally ovulate cd13-14, I am on 15 today, and had a negative OPK this morning. All of this to say that it scared the bejeepers out of me! I thought I was heading into premenopause!

Waturmama : I found the fertility Yoga on youtube.com she has 5 lessons ... and it is very relaxing they also have dvd's at Barnes and Noble bookstores ... It is a great way to start the day!!

Stevi : I am so sorry your cycles are messed up greensad.gif But I am going to try this for me during this cycle... I do feel good about herbal treatments, So we shall see... I am just going to stay at 160 mg the 5 day's ... I have done a lot of research on this and figure it is worth a shot!

AFM: I am having the heaviest AF ever!! it truly is horrible, I laid in bed all day Sunday from cramping and no energy... and I am still bleeding heavy today. It definatley is a very bright healthy red af though... so maybe that is a good sign.

Just a quick update-my baby girl was born last night at home, sunday january 29, weighing  8lbs14, very robust. I did have fears because of my age, but thankfully not justified.  I turn 45 in one week. For those of you not familiar with my story, i gave up after 14mths of ttc, being 44 at the time, but succeeded on my last try which was an iui, with no other medications/ or assistance.  Since then, a smooth pregnancy with some spotting in the first trimester. Baby came a couple of days after her due date born at home without complications. She is nursing well. I also feel better than i did in my previous births.

She is a little angel, and i feel so blessed!!! Her two brothers are completely enamored!!

Baby dust to everyone here!!!

Shell77, that sounds like a chemical pg/super early mc. If so, the silver lining is that a lot is working. Thank you for the fertility yoga tip.

I hope your right waturmama... I took a test friday and it was a bfn... do you think that it was still a chemical? I stayed in bed almost all day Sat and Sun from cramping and bleeding so much...Monday was heavy too... then Tuesday was light and today is just pink when i wipe. So I guess I had a short AF ( I wonder if that has to do with the SI I am on) this is my 4th day today being on 160 mg of SI so I have tomorrow and I am finished.. I started fertility friends and my chart is already all over the place lol and its only 5 days into my cycle and i didnt start temping till Monday.. so CD3 was 97.01 CD4 was 97.21 and today CD5 is 96.88 .... is that normal? I am very excited about this cycle if I do get PG this cycle I will have a Halloween baby!! :-)

ContactMaya : Thank You for your story!! Congrats on your baby girl!! love.gif

Hi to everyone, I'm new here and I have been watching the threads and I see how you all give each other advice and support, so it has encouraged me to join this site smile.gif

I'm turning 40 this month and my DH turned 40 last month. We both already have children from previous relationships but have decided we'd love to add one of our own to the bunch. He has 2 girls and I have 3 girls....yes lots of pink. Their ages range from 14 to 5 years old. The 5 year old being his youngest and a 9 year old being my youngest.

This will be our 3rd cycle of trying to conceive. I have read soooooo much information on the internet (he laughs about me being obsessed lol) and some people say do this, some people say do that and don't do this, it can all become very confusing. All my girls were wonderful surprises so I have never done the whole planning thing and I didn't realise until now how daunting it can be. My DH's girls were both planned and apparently happened pretty much straight away.

Our 1st and 2nd cycle, we did the BD every 2nd night. Today is CD11 of cycle #3 for me and we have decided this time to try every night. Right now we are not too concerned about getting tested, taking vitamins, tracking temp etc until maybe a couple more months down the track.

As we are not telling anyone we are TTC at the moment, and I feel my DH is going crazy with all my pregnancy talk ( blahblah.gif lol), it would be nice just to have other people to talk to, especially others TTC also.

Hi Ms. Kez, nice to meet you.wave.gif  I can relate.  When my dh and I decided to try, it completely obsessed my brain and I thought I would explode from not telling anyone.  It's kind of evened off over the last few months for me, and it has definitely helped to have all of the other ladies here to talk to.

I can also totally relate to the information over-load.  One wants to be informed, but also not take in to much, so as to drive oneself crazy.  I'm sure you will find a good balance and be able to trust your instincts.  Wishing lots of good baby vibes on your journey!  Robin

Welcome MsKez! Good wishes! Yes, it is great to get to "chat" here. If you decide to do just one thing, I'd make it temping. You can learn so much from that. I hope you have another little one soon.

Shell, you can definitely have a chem pg and have a BFN. The hcg may never have reached the level to show up on the test. Or it might have dropped already (I think I recall you started bleeding pretty soon after the test). I imagine there are other explanations for the heavy bleeding and cramping as well.

I hope you get your Halloween baby.

Welcome MsKez! This is a great thread to just be able to express all the myriad feelings around TTC in our 40s. While I have a lot of friends who had their kids in their 40s, I don't have any friends IRL who are intentionally trying to add to their families in their 40s. So, being able to pop in here and post is very helpful.

It's been just over a year since I had my Mirena IUD out and DH and I have not used BC since then. It's just over six months that I've been intentionally timing BD; nothing positive yet. At 44, well, it may not happen. I do not plan any RE interventions. If it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, that's ok.

Just stopping in to say hi to an amazing group of supportive women. I don't know what I would have done without this thread. I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant at age 41 after two years of ttc and 2 miscarriages. Everything looked great on the anatomy scan we had at 20 weeks except for one kidney which has a bit of a fluid build-up. They are going to do another scan at 35 weeks to make sure it hasn't increased. Unfortunately, I have to have an RCS for various reasons, but overall I am overjoyed at the thought of another baby. I have finally let myself believe that it might happen!

Congratulations ContactMaya!!! joy.gif

Litmama, I'm sorry for everything you've had to go through.

A special hello to GumBlossom, WaturMama, Fuller2, Halifax, and everyone else who was around when I had my losses and who gave me so much support when I was ttc and when I had spotting and was going through so much anxiety early in this pregnancy.

Golly, I have missed you ladies.

I really had a melt down last cycle & took this month off EVERYTHING.  Finally, DH wanted to know why there was no DTD, charting, POS, temping...

he was very sweet...like he "just noticed".

Also, a year older...

I am not as frustrated as I was a month ago.  I am geared up to begin again.

I am so glad you are all here.

Good to see you, alittlesandy! Wow 28 weeks!!! Enjoy!

(((hug))) skeemama. That is sweet about your dh. I hope the break is just what you needed physically. It sounds like it was emotionally.

AFM, I got my MTHFR test back yesterday. I have 1 mutation (heterozygous) on the a1298c gene. That is the least worrisome of the MTHFR mutations. My RE's office sounded totally unconcerned from the way they presented it. I still need to talk to the doctor. Apparently this is all still being researched. Some folks thinks it makes a difference, some not. It 's a bit confusing. At least I know. I'm also either 13 or 14 dpo today. I've had mild pg symptoms. Usually when a pg sticks they are stronger, but I started taking vit D this cycle, so I crossing my fingers and toes that somehow that made a difference and I have a sticky bean. I am going to be another year older next month. I'll be 45. I see the gentle age in my face. Part of me yearns to know what the shape of my family is and be done, even if it wasn't my plan. I know I would be thrilled if I were pg, but I'm paying attention to these feelings. They are new for me. I've been ttc a long time.

So I turned 49 last week and I am still here, ladies!

You 44 year-olds are sounding really young to me, haha! thumb.gif

Had ovulation spotting for the first time ever last cycle--definitely not breakthrough bleeding, just light pink spotting off & on for CD 15 & 16.  Slight painless cramping as well. We only BD'd once on CD 11, so I wasn't holding my breath!

I continue to have a 27-29 day regular cycle and have not experienced any peri-menopausal symptoms since going on a Primal diet last year.

I am still "open" to conceiving, rather than ttc, and totally fine if it doesn't happen, as well.

Hugs to all of you and though I lurk more than I post, know that I am sending baby vibes to all!

Great news, alittlesandy!  28 weeks!  Congratulations!!  (Is RCS = repeat c-section? I understand moms who have planned c-sections are actually typically as happy with their births as moms who have homebirths. So maybe it won't be as bad as you think?)

In the home stretch here -- I'm 35 weeks as of last Wed.  And I am HUGE.  Braxton Hicks constantly....My midwives are completely mellow about my age (I have had a total of zero interventions, other than the amnio I requested) and my prenatal care has been so reassuring and relaxing. Keeping fingers crossed that the birth will be the same.

Sending you all lots of fertile energy!

I have a question... I have read a lot about vitamin B helping with ewcm.... so What kind of vitamin B? they have B12 , B6, B complex? I was so confused so i thought UGH I will just wait another day... I am taking my pre natal pills.. and I am on CD 10 but I never really have ewcm... I am hoping I do this cycle because i took the soy isoflavones... but nothing so far ... maybe a little watery but nothing significant.

Thanks for all your help!!

I take a B Complex and got my first BFP very shortly after starting on them back in 2008, it also increased my LP. I still take it every day.

Welcome, MsKez! Yes, this is a great place to get support.

Congrats, Alittlesandy and Fuller! You're both in the home stretch! It's really great to hear you're both doing well. Fuller, I'm so glad to hear your prenatal care has been positive and reassuring (as it should be). Sending you lots and lots of nurturing happy birth vibes.

Gumblossom, I want to thank you for your suggestion to me a while back to make myself some bone broth. I've been making it and drinking it nonstop, and it's been very comforting and nourishing (and my TCM person also recommended it, especially beef to help rebuild my blood).

Skeemama, it's nice to see you and I'm glad your month off helped you feel better. I'm enjoying a month off, too. May we both be renewed!

Shell77, my fertility nutritionist also recommended a B complex. I got my most recent BFP 3 months after starting it. One thing to be careful of is many B complexes contain numerous added herbal ingredients, some of which you may not want (such as ginseng).

WaturMama, your post here is really touching my heart. You so poetically describe what I'm sure many of us feel... that desire to understand the elusive picture of family. I have no words of wisdom for you, just so much appreciation for your presence and also many ((( hugs ))). hug2.gif I'm really glad the mutation they found in your MTHFR test is looking like it's no big deal... do you know anything about that specific 1298c gene?

AFM, it's nice to see you all... for some reason I haven't been getting my thread notifications, and I thought all had gone silent here until I checked in.
After being hyper-cycle-vigilant for so long, it feels strange to say I have no idea where I am in my cycle! I'm in that no-man's land. My hCG is down to 12 and my two weeks' of bleeding is over. I've been laying low, still very tired and just feeling my way back into life and work. I do find myself thinking, "I would be 12 weeks this week..." and still having that kind of attachment. But I suppose that's normal. The good news is I'm definitely emerging from this with a good deal of hope and optimism. I have a birthday coming up and I'm finding myself looking forward to celebrating and not minding the new number coming my way.

I am 47, glad to see another who is around my age still around.

This cycle was an odd one for me, I only insem'd once, then I had a 16 day LP, usual is 12.. And tests were completely negative! It was really odd! I think the key for me will be to add some vitamins and also find a more regular way to DTD, because once a month is just not cutting it, especially if my O date is changing some. Although it seems to be pretty religiously CD 13.

Congrats on the homebirth, how exciting we had another baby added to our board!! Hang in there to the other pg ladies!!

And to all those in the same shoes as me.. Good luck and baby dust!
