Congrats Erica!!!  Well done!!  You're very inspiring to me, and I hope you go out and celebrate your anniversary!  :)

Thanks so much for the compliments on the pictures!  I should mention that my cousin is the photographer, and she is crazy talented.

I've been checking in to see about lakeruby... let us know how today is going!  :)

Hi Dana and Bekah!

Viddy, I LOVE that idea about the flowers.  I'm going to steal it.  Also I love your picture!!  We did a thread over the summer where everyone shared their wedding photos and it was a blast.

Lilac, mmmm massage therapy!  :)  I'm thinking of getting in to see someone over the holiday break.  I definitely need to de-stress and that sounds like a perfect solution.

Happy Friday to you too, Andaluza!  I love weekends, and I LOVE holiday breaks.

Boots, oh I hear ya... I have 2 hours left till the break.  Of course they are 2 hours of pure torture---holiday party in the 3rd grade.  Please god no.  It's horrible because all the parents come up and the kids go WILD because their parents let them behave badly.

AFM, 11 dpo here and trying not to get my hopes up... FF says my chart is "possibly triphasic" on CD 21 (which would be 7 dpo)... temps have been good and steady in the 98 range.  Sore breasts (or maybe that's because I keep squeezing them to check and see if they're sore??  hehe).  Lots of bad drainage in my nose and throat.  Had a brief moment of intense nausea yesterday morning, where my heart starts to pound and I get very dizzy.  This is my biggest symptom so far, since I clearly remember feeling that way (breifly) with the m/c pregnancy.  I keep checking my CP all the time and it's all over the place... probably not a reliable factor at this point.

I'm so scared to test.  I'm nervous that it will be negative, and then I begin my holidays with sorrow.  I'm terrified it will be positive, and what if I lose another pregnancy so early?  Maybe it's better just not to know?

With my m/c, I waited to test until my period was offically "late" and I was 2 days past my longest LP.  Hopefully I can find some resolve to wait, and maybe find some peace of mind along the way...

Me (32) and DH (30) welcomed our precious baby boy 1/2013... life is good.

Ericaf!  That's fantastic-- congrats to you!

Pitch-- I am 11 DPO too!  It's nerve-wracking.

AFM, my temp dropped a bit this morning :(  but it's still in the above-coverline range so I'm holding out hope!  I may POAS tomorrow if temp is still high!  But like Pitch, I'm nervous about the outcome.  It would be SUCH A BUMMER to see a BFN.

Happy weekend to you all!

Erica, congratulations on one year cancer free!

Pitch and Boots, hope you made it through the holiday parties.  As a high school teacher, there are less parties (well at least from me the math teacher, the history teacher seems to have them every other week!  Kids love him, he gives barely any homework and they party all the time).  Yesterday I got a gift from one of my eighth graders.  Cute kitty bag that looks lilke my MIL cat (can't wait to reuse the bag at Christmas).  Usually I get 4 or 5 gifts at Christmas time - this year ONE.  Okay.

AFM: I went to my DH work Christmas party.  We sat with 2 of his coworkers, both German men who married U.S. women.  It was a blast chatting with them.  Both couples are about the age of my mom and late dad.  They have known each other for 30 some years (the men stood up in each others weddings).  The "buffet" was tasteless food, the dessert from Gordon's Food Service (premade), and the "old barn" was cold.  One of the ladies kept making remarks about my DH "lighting my fire" and getting me pregnant "tonight".  Alcohol isn't a good thing for some people.

I had wet, watery CM on CD9!  Maybe this is a sign of positive things to come (usually wet CM doesn't show up until CD 18).

Awww, thanks guys! I have to say... I am pretty damn proud of that milestone! I can't believe a year has gone by... I feel like it was just yesterday that I was laying around having everyone help me. Crazy how time flys. Yet somehow at the same time... it feels like it was 200 years ago. I'm like... that was LAST xmas?? Weird. Thankful, still though.

lilac: Ohhhhhhh xmas parties. Lol. I was totally giggling at your comment how alcohol isn't good for some peeps!

Ruby: Maybeeee! I'm holding out on hope for you! goodvibes.gif

pitch: When was your miscarriage? Has your cycles been screwy since? Mine was in August, and I've found that my cycles have been shorter... and aside from last month (because I've been taking B6 and B12) I was spotting for at least 4 days before my period. That's actually what has made me push my Dr to do my CD21 testing cause that indicates low progesterone. And I'm not really interested in having a nother miscarriage if I DO get pregnant because of that!

boots: How are you feeling? Any crazy symptoms?

AFM: Had my CD21(22, whatever you do) testing on Friday... should get my results on Tuesday. I'm going to explode!!!! In the meantime... what the HECKKKK is up with my chart?? My temp is slowlyyyyyyyy steadily rising. Not normal for me at all! I had it in my head I would NOT get preggo this month (and that I would next month. Why? Cause I'm a weirdo!) so I promised myself that I wouldn't test till at leastttttt 12DPO depending on my BBT, but when it was yet a little higher today than yesterday... I had to. BFN. I'm not surprised... I just don't know what the heck is up with my temps! Weird!!

Erica, you should be proud! I bet it feels great to know that you've moved on and can say you're a one-year survivor! :) I'll be checking here Tuesday to see how your progesterone results are!

Progesterone suppositories are kind of yucky. They make me itchy.

I am feeling okay, but not. Ha. The worst for me is probably the emotions, I am so edgy and cranky. My digestion is pretty out of whack but nothing too bad (no vomiting) , as long as I eat every three hours which is kind of a pain. Food aversions are pretty strange, too. I don't really want anything sweet which is so unusual. And you really don't know if you won't eat something unless it's sitting right in front of you.

I'm really excited I'll have my second ultrasound and hope hope hope to see my baby's heartbeat on 12/28.

I take Rainbow Light Just Once prenatals and they have them in them, and ahem... they've helped me just in the everyday. Lol. Just sayin! Soooo, you used progesterone suppositories too? Ugh. They seem to be the best, did you use them this cycle you got prego too? Are you stillll using them? I've never used a suppository so just the thought kinda grosses me out. Lol.

Well AF showed up today, TWO DAYS EARLY.  This is my shortest LP ever at 12 days.  Plus my temp was still really high this morning... so I was totally shocked when I started bleeding today.  Bah HUMBUG.

Erica, my m/c was in September.  Since then I've had 3 periods (just beginning my 4th cycle) and I can't figure out what's going on.  Everything has been screwy since the m/c.  My cycle was super short this month, too---like 26 days.   It took us 9 months to get pregnant with the m/c cycle, and now I'm starting my 4th cycle post m/c......so I'm thinking "go see a Fertility Specialist" in the next few weeks.  I'm approaching the 1 year TTC mark in about 6 weeks.  I never in a million years thought it would take this long, and still not have a baby or even a healthy pregnancy in the works.  Sigh.  Feeling really discouraged tonight.

I just don't know what to do.  I feel like going to a Fertility Specialist is such a drastic step... but it seems like the right move.  I don't know if I'm even the kind of person who should see a specialist---I ovulate every month and my charts are textbook in regularity (well, until the m/c at least... they are semi-back on track now).  I've been telling myself for so long:  "Okay, if I'm not pregnant this month, then we'll go see a Specialist..." and then AF comes.... and then I think, "Okay, one more cycle... let's see if I get pregnant this month..."  etc etc.

My hope is to find a good Fertility Specialist that is aggressive and will get things moving right away, because I am all over the place about this and need someone to TAKE CHARGE!!

BLAAARRRRRGHHHHHHH.

Me (32) and DH (30) welcomed our precious baby boy 1/2013... life is good.

Andaluza - thanks so much for looking that up for me, so sweet of you! I hadn't even thought of that, but that having that info helps put my mind at ease. How are you doing by the way??

Lake Ruby - yeah, I haven't heard of it either! My cycles are usually around 32-35 days and every now and then I'll get a long one of over 40 days which is likely due to PCOS. As for ovulation, I'm only assuming that I ovulate 3 weeks in but don't know for sure, especially as it seems like I'm close to ovulation now and it's only CD 13 so you never know! I haven't been able to find much other evidence about 'old' eggs but I will take the Premular (chaste tree) that the naturopath has given me and see if it makes any difference to my cycle length. How're you feeling? I must admit I took a peek at your chart every now and then to see if there was any news!

erica - First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on the 1 year!! joy.gif I'm not a big emoticon user, but this definitely deserves one! It must feel amazing. Now just for a wee babe to be the cherry on top, right? Haha. I saw your chart when I was over in our FF group, it's looking pretty bloody good - fingers crossed tightly for you! The naturopath was really great, and I definitely recommend going to see one. I went mostly for help with managing my PCOS and because I've just been feeling really run down and unhealthy recently, so she was great for that. She was also really proactive about giving me TTC advice, most of which to be honest I think we're all pretty aware of in this group. She gave me the chaste tree to keep my cycle regular and talked about the importance of Zinc, Iodine and Selenium for myself and Richard (who now is meant to eat 2 brazil nuts a day for selenium), especially as NZ has really low levels of selenium and iodine in our soil so we have to try and get it elsewhere. She also mentioned being a healthy weight (ugh, as does everyone) and even though I understand that, to be honest I just want to be healthy, and if that means I drop a few pounds then great but if not I'm not too worried

lilac - Ugh, we've had a few comments about Richard getting me knocked up recently - it's not like we're not trying! I'm glad you had a good time with those folks though :) I've also had watery CM much earlier than normal so I'm crossing my fingers for the both of us!

Pitchounette- I'm so sorry :( It's always such a disappointment, and AF is such an in your face reminder. Ugh. I really hope you get to have a restful and fun holiday period, including a good selection of alcoholic beverages! I'll be thinking of you. I don't think going to a fertility specialist is too drastic a step. I mean, even if doctors think you should be trying for longer I think it is perfectly reasonable to want to fully understand what your body is doing and be preemptive in how you manage your fertility and TTC journey. It surely won't hurt talking to someone about it!

AFM - I'm on CD 13 with watery CM showing up earlier than I expected, although I have been drinking a lot of grapefruit juice! One of my best friends is staying with us at the moment, which has been fantastic as she knows about our miscarriage and is also a midwife so I can pick her brains about lots of things. I also have finally had the chance to meet her 8 month old, who is of course adorable and I love having the chance to play with her - but there was this moment when the two of them plus my room mate and her 9 month old were sitting there chatting and I really felt the pangs of not having one of my own. Despite really wanting a baby, I've never felt it quite this intensely before! I think partly because for both of them their pregnancies were 'accidents' and also we still have a fair few friends who don't have kids so I'm not usually the odd one out, but this time I totally was and it felt pretty awful. I'm sure you all totally know what I mean!

pitch: Dang! You are I are really close in age anddd situation! How far along were you when you had your m/c? I was 5 wks 6 days (on flipping vacationnnnn in Florida. Lovely.) We had stopped using protection of any kind the month prior (we just used condoms... I've been off BCP for 4 years now), but we starting actually "trying" that month and I got preggo right away (yet anotherrrr reason I feel like I'm healthy minus the progesterone levels!) I'm also on my 4th cycle since the m/c. My AF's pretty much returned right away, but my cycle USED to be 31ish days and now it's 28 days and before I had neverrrr spotted before my period... and aside from last month, now I do. I think you should definitelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy DEFINITELY just go see someone. It will only HELP you. Think of Boots! She said she wishessss she just went earlier in hindsight. The minute they tell me I have to go see someone, I'm going! That's what those people do everyday, all day. Help people get prego! And I don't wanna worry anymore! Sorry AF came a little early this time for you... are you taking B6? I take B6 and B12 and it lengthened my luteal phase by 4 days in just a couple weeks of taking it! I'm interested to see how it pans out this month for me. My temp keeps slowlyyyy rising, even more today! Even if I'm not preggo, at least I can see that something good is going on with my progesterone!  But even at 12 days, your LP is sufficient. You need at least 10 days, so you're good! Also... we're the same in that... I ovulate everymonth and my charts are pretty textbook. Definitely biphased. So you are notttt alone! Wonder if you and I have the same problem? winky.gif

rebekah: Thanks! I'm an emoticon wh*re ROTFLMAO.gifEven in texting! Lol. Can you tell? I use exclamation in like every sentence. Lolololol. I've read a lot about Zinc and Iodine too!! Interesting about the iodine down there. I now in the US there is something called the "goiter belt" which is pretty much the whole top 1/2 of the US because they have low iodine in their soil. So crazy!

AFM: Temp is still slowly rising! Again, couldddd vomit with excitement. But I'm NOT testing again till at least tomorrow (12DPO) because I should get the results of my CD21 test, so if my progesterone level IS low and I AM prego (praying.gif) my Dr would perscribe progesterone for me to take. But she won't perscribe it UNLESS I'm prego (to helpppp me sustain a pregnancy) so if it is low, guess who is off to a fertility place next month? Glad I've been charting the past 3 months... that should be a good tool!

I got a BFP!!!!  On Sunday, CD 12. The + was a bit faint, but definitely there... I guess I'll test again mid-week??    I am so excited & kiiiiiind of freaking out.  It doesn't seem rea! I really believed that it would take me a long time to concieve, if ever.  I'm kind of in shock. I haven't told anyone, not even DH!  (I might wait and tell him on Christmas)  I haven't had any major symptoms yet, although I did notice that I've been really really hungry this past week, and craving any kind of ethnic, spicy food.  Also I've felt a bit crampy in my lower abdomen, and I haven't researched that yet. I hope it's not a bad sign. My breasts are also sore, but that happens with AF so nothing unusual.

Amen, Erica!

Pitch, I would seriously go to see a fertility specialist your insurance would cover it. You could totally fudge it and say you'd been trying a year, and with the m/cs I would think no one would argue with you. Look at it this way. I also ovulated according to my OB and had regular periods. She was totally not thrilled to give me Clomid but did after I asked for it. She told me it wouldn't work. Now I'm pregnant after my first cycle with it. However, I went to the fertility clinic early in my first Clomid cycle. I am SO glad I did. If you get pregnant and you're with an RE, you will get a lot of early monitoring you won't get at a regular OB. I'll have my second U/S at 8 weeks and most women haven't even had one by then. That alone is worth the peace of mind. My insurance covers that extra monitoring until 8 weeks, then I "graduate" to a regular OB.

When I talked to the RE, there was no "you're not infertile enough" feeling. She did think my cycles were a little long and perhaps my LPs were short, we didn't really get to investigate it. Have you had CD21/22 progesterone testing? I would think that would be standard after a loss but what do I know, I just work here. ;)  Good luck! Feel free to PM me any more questions about the RE.

I'm slogging through trying to manage my depression without meds. Thinking of trying acupuncture. It's going to be hard to find a therapist before the holidays. Thanks for the support everyone.

9 more days until my next u/s.

RUBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! I KNEW ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!! YIPEEEEEEE!!! How flippin awesome!!!!! joy.gif I swear... I read some ladies charts, and I'm just like "Oh... she's def pregnant!" and all you lovelies were! Now I'm very busy pushing for lilac. I think your turn is coming up next, M'aam! I am so ridic. I get chills everytime I see one of you with a BFP. Lol!

boots: Just a thought, but can you take B6? It helps with depression. And in my ownnn hindsight... after I went off the BCP, I was a freaking MESS. I mean MESS. I've never been anything I would consider "depressed" but after I went off... I just thought my hormones were a mess and needed to regulate. Now, I'm pretty sure I was depressed. I scared myself. Now reading back... BCP causesss B6 deficiency. Hello?! Why does no Dr tell you this? I'm 100% positive I was deficient in it because now when I take it, I get a little boost of energy. And you're not SUPPOSED to unlessss you are deficient. Hmph! And I'd def be soooooooooooooo excited for the early monitoring. I HATE that they don't monitor women before like 10-12 weeks. Normally. Ridic!!!! Especially if it's something small they can fix, AHEM... low progesterone. (Yes, I'm 100% obsessed. Lol.) I'd feel oodles better if I had that!

Hey Erica, what else can you tell me about B6 deficiency? Does it mean I'd need more than is provided in my prenatal? I have never taken just B6, I have some B-complex, is that the same thing?

I know I did feel better when I took a B-complex. I wonder if I can find one that is not so strong on my stomach. Today I've been a little grossedout.gif

boots: Just a quick excerpt- The B-complex vitamins are essential to mental and emotional well-being. They cannot be stored in our bodies, so we depend entirely on our daily diet to supply them. B vitamins are destroyed by alcohol, refined sugars, nicotine, and caffeine so it is no surprise that many people may be deficient in these.

  • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine): This vitamin aids in the processing of amino acids, which are the building blocks of all proteins and some hormones. It is needed in the manufacture of serotonin, melatonin and dopamine. Vitamin B6 deficiencies, although very rare, cause impaired immunity, skin lesions, and mental confusion. A marginal deficiency sometimes occurs in alcoholics, patients with kidney failure, and women using oral contraceptives. MAOIs, ironically, may also lead to a shortage of this vitamin. Many nutritionally oriented doctors believe that most diets do not provide optimal amounts of this vitamin.
  • Vitamin B1 (thiamine): The brain uses this vitamin to help convert glucose, or blood sugar, into fuel, and without it the brain rapidly runs out of energy. This can lead to fatigue, depression, irritability, anxiety, and even thoughts of suicide. Deficiencies can also cause memory problems, loss of appetite, insomnia, and gastrointestinal disorders. The consumption of refined carbohydrates, such as simple sugars, drains the body's B1 supply.

Helloooo, dopamine?! Where you ever on the BCP? I was for 10 flippin years straight. And I know that taking a good B complex vitamin is much better than just taking one of the B vitamins because they work together and help aid in absorption. Also, since it's not stored in our bodies... we just pee out what we don't need which is good so you know your not busy OD'ing on B's. I also know that some Dr's prescribe B6 for nausea in pregnancy! I would ask your Dr, but I'd def start taking it. You know you felt good on it too! I normally have an iron stomach, but I now take... drum roll please... a prental, fish oil, B6, B12, Vitamin C, and coQ10... SO... I alwaysss take all that with food. I'm not chancing any nausea and I normally feel dandy! The only thing that can sometimes nauseate me is the dang prenatal cause that thing stinks and it's BIG! My B's I take are so so sooooo tiny. Like 1/3 of a brown Advil. No lie. I swear by my B vitamins now. They're my favorite vitamin. Another lovely lady on hear recommended them to me. I've only been on them for a month and a half, but it's made all the difference in the world for me. Stinks that you feel barfy, but they sayyyy that means a healthy pregnancy winky.gif

PS. I take the smallest dose I could find of the B's. 50 mg of B6 and 150 of B12. I was afraid to go nutty on all of them (my prenatal has 800 mg of folic acid already so I was nervous) but for my next bottles... I'll def be buying a regular B complex. A good one! I look long and hard to find good vitamins that are plant based with no crap in them like fillers, etc.

Hooray LakeRuby!  joy.gif

EricaF - congrats on your year! I stalked your chart and it is looking good.  How are you feeling?

Pitch - I hear ya on going to a Fertility Specialist.  I wish I hadn't waited so long.  :(

AFM - I've been avoiding the medical "next steps" for a while in lieu of vitamins/acupuncture/etc.   Well I just had an HSG revealing both of my tubes are blocked.  Oh well.   I guess this explains 21 cycles of no BFP.

So PUH, how can you get the tubes unblocked?  Is it possible?

Erica, thanks for the encouragement.  Just have to wait and see how this cycle goes.  CD11 here.

I know it's almost the end of the month, but I might as well join in here.  32yrs old and we're TTC #1.  We started trying in Nov after having my IUD removed, but I haven't ovulated yet (but should any day now-CD55 currently).  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed through the holidays that New Years bring a BFP my way.

EXCUSEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEEEEE WORLDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!

GUESS who just got a BFP?!?!?!?! joy.gif I'm going to die of a heart attack! I thought for SURE this month wasn't going to be my month. I don't know why, I just had it in my head next month was our month. Granted it's only 11DPO for me and it's faint, but WHATEVER!!!! BFP Merry Christmas to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Now I really REALLY want my CD22 tests back this very second because if my progesterone is/was low, she can prescribe me some to help this little love bug stick! However, my temps have been slowly steadily rising my whole LP so far. Went up to 98.6 this am which it's never been that high since I've been charting. I feel like I'm going to explode! My heart is going to flat out explode! And I'm going to throw up everywhere! biggrinbounce.gif

Erica - biggrinbounce.giflove.gif - Yay! This thread has been crazy this month!    Who else is still in the running?

AFM - I have to go for a laproscopy to see if things can be unblocked.   If not, we won't go for IVF, we are pursuing adoption from foster care.  Our insurance doesn't cover IVF at all which realistically means a price tag above 20K since I would have to pay for every blood test, prescription, ultrasound, dr's visit and the IVF procedure all out of pocket.  My coworker just did one successful round and it was almost 40K.  She's preggo with twins.  IVF only has about a 50% success rate.  I know another woman who has done two rounds unsuccessfully.  Maybe in a few years, I will reassess or get better insurance.  But for now, we are going with fost/adopt.  That venue certainly brings its share of heartache as well but it is one that makes sense to me.

Woohoo, Lakeruby and Erica! This HAS been a super lucky month. joy.gif

Erica, Re: B-vits, I will try to take some of my b-complex although I don't think it's a very good one, just from CVS or whatever, I will take anything. I need to start on Omegas again, too, as my little bean is growing a brain, I was just feeling like they might've been upsetting my tum. What I thought was m/s yesterday probably was not, huz was also down with a bug. Sigh. I know it's probably not anything to be worried about, not having m/s (yet, knock on wood) , but yeah. Someone told me pregnancy is good worry-prep for motherhood.

PoorUglyHappy, you are awesome for considering foster and adoption. I considered it too, because I knew our insurance wouldn't pay for IVF, and yeah, the odds kind of suck. If you can invest that money and energy into adoption or fostering, your odds are much better of having a kiddo. I see a lot of kids in unfortunate situations and I really am happy when great people decide to go for fostering and adoption.

AFM, taking the day off from work, mostly because I really need extra rest and quiet time. I just couldn't face it today. I went to school yesterday feeling crappy and it was a struggle. I just want it to be Friday! Or ultrasound day!

edited to add: Just went to open my B-vits and started dry heaving (ugh, why do they have to have such a strong smell?) so much for not feeling very pregnant today. Emergenc-C has a ton of B-vits and I can stomach it, but I worry about the mega-dose of vitamin C.
