Oh, so exciting, TT!  I was clapping my hands in excitement again!  Still praying and sending you positive thoughts!  It is so weird how some of the early signs of pregnancy mimic the early signs of AF.

TT, looks like your temp is up even higher today.  I keep chart stacking to see what is up with you.

My day off and I have a whole list of things I want to do on Martin Luther King Day.  Not sure I will get them all done but it is what I am working toward.

lilac: Well, that all sounds super positive, I like it! I always wondered if I had a little thyroid issue myself... guess I can ask my Dr that tomorrow cause she should have all my bloodwork back!

TT: I posted on the other thread for you. hug2.gif x a million.

Still thinking of you, TT.  *hugs*

Lilac, I hope you were able to accomplish a lot yesterday.  We cleaned out our garage which held a surprising amount of junk, considering we've just been in this house a year.  Anyway it was therapeutic and I felt very pleased going to my car this morning.

Little update on me:  AF is here in all of her glory.  My doctor's nurse called me yesterday to schedule the HSG.  It's set for next Monday at 8:45 am, and I think I'm going to just take the whole day off work.  They are giving me a prescription for antibiotic and pain, so I'm bracing myself for the worst.

The good news is that DH's Semen Analysis came back NORMAL!!  Hallelujah!  I guess we can cross that off the list, ha.  So hopefully the HSG will give us a starting point for diagnosing/assisting our TTC journey.  This is stupid, but I'm actually nervous that the HSG will show everything to be normal with me, too.  Because, well then what?  If all tests come back normal, why are we not conceiving?  So I have to work through some of these questions and hopefully reach a kind of peace within myself.

Love to everyone here...

Me (32) and DH (30) welcomed our precious baby boy 1/2013... life is good.

I just wanted to check in. TT, I hope you're doing okay. Thinking about you. hug2.gif

I had a progesterone test on Sunday, and it was a bit low so  the doc put me on suppositories for this week until the pregnancy test on Sunday.  I'm a bit headachey and moody as a result, but doing okay and keeping my hopes up for Sunday's test.  :)

Pitch, this might be something to keep an eye on for you.  Everything else seems to be working inside me too, but maybe low progesterone has kept me from a successful pregnancy so far... and maybe it could explain your situation as well.

FX for everyone.  fingersx.gif

Just checking in after a few days away....oh, TT I'm so sorry. I wish there was something I could say. You're in my thoughts and we're all here for you. Please keep us posted on how you're doing when you're up to it hug2.gif.

Pitch - I totally hear what you're saying with the frustration of things not working for those of us 'trying' so hard. It's so tough feeling so out of control of your own body! SO glad to hear about the SA results, though. Wahoo! I think it's a good idea to take the day off work, which is something I know us teachers often find hard to do! It will be so nice having that day to yourself to relax (as much as possible) and process what all is going on. Crossing my fingers for some helpful information to come from it!

Dandy - My fingers are crossed for you! Bummer that the progesterone is making you feel gross, but all worth it in the end - right?

AFM - I started on the Vitex this cycle and I've noticed quite a difference in my cm, much more creamy and stretchy (to the point of thinking it's actually ewcm) in these early days (I'm CD8) Has anyone else who's taken Vitex noticed that? I also had a quick question for charting, if you haven't had 3-4 hours sleep before you wake up to temp, or if your sleep is really disrupted...do you mark down the temp, not temp at all, or discard it? Thanks!

TT, thinking about you.  grouphug.gif

Saw my dentist and told him I was taking thyroid meds today.  He asked me to stick out my tongue, then looked at my fingers, and my eyebrows.  He said to my hygienist, "See her scalloped tongue, thin eyebrows at the far edges, and thin breaking nails - all of those are classic symptoms of a thyroid diagnosis."  I kind of feel better about that somehow, although sad someone hadn't caught on to it earlier for me.  I find we really have to push sometimes to get the best care we need.

Pitch, I hope your HSG goes well.

Someone asked about temping - I take it even if my sleep hasn't been perfect for 3 or 4 hours before.  Mine doesn't seem to change much, even if I get up, walk to the bathroom and back.  May just be because of my hypothyroid.  Take it, if it seems suspect, discard it, if not, leave it in the chart to see the trends.

Dandy, that's interesting about the progesterone. I will definitely ask my doc about this! I usually have pretty high temps post-O, after a slow rise, so I wonder if that makes a difference?

Doula, I would still take my temp but make a note about the disrupted sleep. It may still be valid depending on the overall temps. I'm really interested in the Vitex. Did you get a prescription? It sounds promising!

Shell, good luck on the SA results! The nurse we spoke to told us my DH's  results we're normal, but I'd like to see the specific breakdown. I'm going to ask about that during our next appt in February.

Lilac, how strange your dentist noticed all of those telltale signs but never mentioned it to you until now! That really does seem unsettling, like--hey, what else aren't you telling me?!

Just saw another ultrasound photo on Facebook. Seriously like 15 friends are pregnant on there and it's so in your face! I do think when we get pregnant, I will be much more aware and sensitive to others who may be struggling. You just never know what people are dealing with in private.

Thank you, pitch for having the good sense not to post everything about your life to facebook.  I feel the same way about my friends.  My DH and I will not be posting such photos to the internet - baby bumps when they are obvious, probably, but no POAS or ultrasounds.  It just weirds me out.

As for my dentist, I can see why it wasn't discussed before.  It isn't like I was going to him for a diagnosis for my thyroid issue but it just confirmed my suspicions even when my Dr. didn't think it was necessarily important initially.

Hi, all! Lilac, I think I'm ready to be moved over to graduates... we heard the babies heartbeat last night. I was crying and laughing at the same time. As of now, due date is 9/2. So for my blurb, I guess you can write at 31 and 4 months of trying (although it felt like 500 years because of the m/c in August!). And even though my HCG last time was pretty dang high (28,105 at just 5 weeks, 3 days) she rooted around in there for a while, and there is definitely only one strong little bugger in there. winky.gif

I finally got the SA results today from the doctor! so she said everything looks normal just that his swimmers are a little on the slow side... but she does not think that , that is a issue ... I ask how to get them to speed up lol and she said she really doesnt want me to think about that being a issue and thinks that all is well for us to make a baby... she doesnt want to move forward with any actions till march when I have my Sono ... If I am not PG by then hopefully we can start some sort of clomid or HSG test.. .. I am still focused on the "slow Swimmers" I am going to call the lab tomorrow and have them fax me the results or better yet I will just go pick them up so I can see all the numbers.... I also stopped my Ovulation cramping... so maybe we got a sticky baby?? I am officially on my 2 ww UGH and its going to be a hard one... nothing  to keep my mind occupied!

Lilac I work for as a Dental Hygentist and I swear i will be looking at peoples eyebrows and nails from now on lol... I always notice the tongue!

Pitch I didnt get a specific breakdown over the phone... But I am going to get them from the lab myself so I can come home and obsess about the numbers over the internet search lol

I am hopeless and this next 2ww is just going to be hard!

Congrats ericaf That is sooooo Exciting!!!

Took a decongestant and my head (1.75 hours later) is actually feeling like it won't blow up.  Ugh I thought someone was drilling through my eyeball today.  Lots of pain.

Shell, I have a sneaking suspicion I may be going the iui route as well. Something just tells me it will work for us...? It's not very expensive and seems like its painless. I've done lots of reading online and it sounds positive, especially if the swimmers are slow. Let me know what you decide. :)

Its Definatley something me and DH are talking about... I think we are waiting on this cycle ... But I really want to get a jumpstart and go and see the RE and get on the ball CD1 if this cycle doesnt pan out the way I want it too.

Been out of town for a while, just checking in.

TT-My heart breaks for you, I am so so sorry.

Shell/Pitch-Congrats on normal SAs! That is one major thing you can cross off the list of things to worry about, what a relief!

Doula-Not sure about cm with vitex, but I have been taking it for months to help with pre af spotting, and it works pretty well, keep us updated!

Dandy-Progesterone sounds promising!

AFM- Still takin things easy this cycle. Noticed good EWCM, had fun with bd, praying to keep my cool, and looking forward.

Pitch, just popping in to say, do they have a reason to think that you have blocked tubes? My HSG was entirely painless. Uncomfortable, but my tubes were open and I didn't feel any pain. Just a bit cold! I took two advil beforehand. And after my HSG and one round of Clomid, BFP. So this is a positive step :)

ecstatic about BFP #2 after another round of Clomid,

Hey boots!  :)  I thought I remembered you having an HSG before Clomid (and that fantastic BFP!).

I've been wondering about that myself....why the HSG... obviously one tube is open since we did get pregnant in September.  My doc didn't really say why we were doing the HSG, only that it's the first step in fertility diagnosis/treatments (along with the SA).  I've been wondering if maybe the m/c left behind some tissue or infection of some kind?  I have no way of knowing that, just a thought.

It makes sense to go ahead and determine the tubes are clear and my uterus is normal before starting Clomid, although I am really thinking there may be a hormone component to my problems.  Either way, we are finally moving forward and that feels good.

Your story has given me so much hope!  I'm not really excited about the HSG, but I keep telling myself that it's helped so many women to conceive, and your case in particular has given me encouragement.  Yay!!  My test is on Monday so I'll be sure to let you know how it goes and if anything is revealed...

Greetings Ladies!

I'm delurking! I'm 30 years old (31 actually in February) and we've been trying to conceive since December of last year. I quit charting and temping (and visiting Mothering!) over the summer because I was being pressured by friends and family that I was "stressing out" too much and that if I just stopped worrying about it, I'd suddenly get pregnant. Umm, no.

So, I'm in my 13th cycle now and about 7DPO. I've had a hormonal couple of days and I've had tender breasts, but I daren't get my hopes up. I have my annual OB appt. on Monday, unless I start my period by then so I guess we'll start discussing what our options are.

I also just need to start temping and charting again so I know for certain when I'm ovulating. I know for awhile, we were just not hitting the mark at all. My husband has a new job that's less stress and he doesn't have to work on the weekends so I feel like we have a better chance now.

Anyway, I see a lot of familiar names up there under graduates and I'm so excited and inspired by that. Hoping it'll be our turn soon and same for all of you!

<3 fem

The nurse called me this morning to make sure I wasnt worrying and to give me the SA numbers... all is normal but his motility number... normal is 50% and DH is 48 % ... not too bad!!

So today I am having a mild cramping and sore breast ... also I have a bad taste in my mouth ( like coins or blood) no matter how much I brush and gargle I still taste it :-/  and I am 4 DPO ,,,, hopefully those are good signs!! I just got off the phone with DH and he is taking me to a Hockey game tomorrow night SOOOO EXCITED :-)

Thanks for the temping advice, ladies!

Pitch - The vitex (it's actually called Premular, but I think that might just be a NZ thing - it's the same stuff, agnus castus) was given to me by my naturopath, but I'm sure I've read that you can get it over the counter at health stores that sell supplements, and even maybe drugstores. Like everything I've heard good and bad things, some people think it made their cycle much longer, others it didn't so who knows....right now I'm just going to go with it and see how my cycle reacts. If it's producing more cm (and it should help with ewcm) then that's a good thing, right? Plus it's natural, which I like. I also totally agree with Lilac about the posting on Facebook, that drives me crazy! I'm just not that much of an oversharer on there anyway, but it's so frustrating to me that people don't seem to think about how their actions will impact on others. I totally get that they're excited, and they should be.....but a little sensitivity would be great!

Lilac - So I saw my doctor about the thyroid stuff and she said it's all totally normal, and that my temps are still within the normal range. Go figure? Of course I'm happy that my thyroid is healthy, but you know how it's just nice sometime to have an answer for something so you can start to understand it. I hope you're feeling better?

erica - Wahoo!

Shell - Congrats on the good sperm! Haha. Cool of the nurse to give you the numbers for your obsessing, too ;) Seriously though, it must be good to know that you're all good in that department! Have you had anymore thoughts on IUI?

Mexilady - Good to see you, girl! You seem nice and relaxed :)

femmeknitzi - Welcome to the group! I love your name, btw :) This is a group of really great ladies, I have loved being a part of it. Things sound like they're on the up for you, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed! I think that temping, charting...Mothering, can get stressful but it's so much what you make of it. I'm like you in that I chart because I want to know what my body is doing and when I'm ovulating so I'm at least getting my timing right, the one thing it feels like I have some control of! Glad to see that you're doing what's best for you :)

AFM - Still waiting to O, nothing too exciting. However, when I saw my dr yesterday she put me on metformin to try and get my insulin resistance under control (I have PCOS), does anyone here have any experience with it? I'm not that excited about the nausea and diarrhea side effects but if it can give my body a bit of a boost into getting under control that would be great!

Doula , Thank  you I have a little relief but its still low :-/   But I am going to try and trust in what they say and go with it!! happytears.gif    I am still considering the IUI I read a lot about it last night and it seems it may be a good fit for us , So If we are not Preggo by March I am going to go in for IUI shy.gif well Hopefully lol .... today I have sore breast and some mild cramping and I have a bad taste in my mouth like coins... or blood.. no matter how much I gargle or brush I cant get it out of my mouth. ICK Not really sure what that means but I hope its good signs 4 DPO.

As far as the Metformin goes and the PCOS I have read that is is a wonderful drug for women TTC.... My Mother struggled with PCOS and eventually got a hystorectomy from it... She had it bad and didnt want anymore children after my brother and I anyway... and I heard that it is hereditary.. So I am scared that maybe what I have as well... I know I have a cyst on my right ovary but the dr. said that it is only 3 mm large... and I have a small one on my uterus... they believe those are caused by the mirena iud and they should go away, that is why they want to do a sono on me in march... I just HATE waiting I am not getting any younger.  Hopefully All this blahblah.gif I am doing will just be for nothing  and I get a BFP in 2 weeks !!

Folks, I think I'm pregnant.  I got a BFP tonight, 13 days after the trigger shot, so it should be gone from my system! My stomach is doing somersaults right now! biggrinbounce.gif

Our little boy was born early at 26 1/2 weeks on June 28/12!! Small but strong! joy.gif
