Hi Mamas!

DD is 3 and DH and I are seriously talking about TTC again.  I know the recommended time frame for starting prenatals is three months before conception.  Are all of you doing this?  What type are you taking? I had one with DD that I had to take three times a day.  I'd rather not do that.  I can do twice a day but three times a day is a bit much for me.

Married to my soul mate and totally devoted to DD (6/08) and enjoying our 2 cats and many fish. Wishing for a "green" house in the country where we can raise more children!

I think it's the folic acid that they've shown is good to take months before you conceive.  My doctor said not to take prenatals until I was actually pregnant because the iron can be constipating.  I started taking them once we actually started trying.  I think you would probably be fine with just the folic acid for now.  It's easier to take 1 a day.

Married to a wonderful woman since 2010. Baby boy C arrived in June 2013!

I am taking them. Partly so I can get in the habit before I become pg. I am horrible at taking pills!! The ones I got cover all 9 months and are from New Chapter Organics. I got them on Amazon. They are called Perfect Prenatal Complete Trimester. They can be taken on an empty stomach or with food. I usually take mine with milk and a little bite of something to eat or a meal and I am fine. It is 3 times a day though, so I started out at once a day and then just recently worked up to three times a day. It has made it easier for me to get in the habit! And it has the folic acid (folate) in them.

I'm taking Rainbow Lite Prenatals. I take one each night before I go to bed because I cannot take any vitamins or eat for an hour after I take my Synthroid each morning. I'm also taking Vitex, one with lunch and one with the Prenatal. The prenatal pills are huge and I really don't like the way they look or smell and they cause me to have nausea and tons of these tiny little burps when I take them, but taking them at night seems to help me avoid consciously experiencing that.

It's really hard to remember to take them!
