Hi! My DD is six and a half months old. I exclusively breastfeed and have not had a period yet. I do check my cervix every couple of days. My cervix was open a couple of days ago and is now closed. I am pretty sure i did not ovulate. Cervical mucus has just returned the past two months, but still no 'fertile' mucus as far as i can tell. If i am not ovulating why would my cervix be changing like this? Any ideas? Thanks!!

I don't know about your body, but mine definitely had a few "practice" cycles where i had the cervical changes but no fertile mucus, no ovulation and no AF.  I certainly noticed because i had a minor prolapse after DD2, and it felt "worse" a few times - i checked my cervix and it was long, open, low, exactly like my AF-cervix.  But no AF came.  It happened twice without other things, then the third month i DID get AF.

So maybe you're body's gearing up to restart menstruation?
