This is my first cycle after having my paragard copper IUD out.  I think I ovulated on day 12, but this is according to the twinge I always get; my cervical mucous doesn't seem the same as it was pre-IUD when I did NFP.  I had textbook mucous then, with the dry days and the egg-white days.  Since having it in 5 years ago it's been in the constant "tacky/ wet" phase.  Any idea how long until I see cyclical changes again?

2nd question-- I had 1 bout of tiny spotting on cycle day 18 (the day, according to my "PG Day by Day" book says you might see spotting from implantation!).  On cycle day 20, I had a few minutes of menstrual like cramps, but no bleeding yet (its been 12 hours, and a week ahead of when my period's due anyway).  No nausea, breast changes yet.  I don't remember having this spotting/ cramping with the first 2 pregnancies, but not sure if I'm just watching this one closer  :)

Any thoughts on the mucous issue and the cramping issue?

TIA!

Christina

I don't remember having cramping or spotting with my first, though wasn't planned either. I'm now trying to plan for my 2nd, and am in my first cycle after 3+ yrs of nuvaring. I had cramping and a full period 5 days after my regular period...a week after that ended, I started spotting again and have been for a week. The doctor says it's completely normal because your body is trying to fight and get it's regular cycle back and there is still hormones in your body from the bc. Although there is a chance that I'm pregnant, I'm hoping my cycle will straighten out soon if I'm not. best wishes and hope for a positive for you +++

I don't know about the mucus but I did have 12 days of implantation bleeding with cramps when I was pregnant with my daughter who is now 15 months. The cramps were strong enough that I took pain reliever for them. I didn't think it was possible to have cramps with implantation and I don't think my doctor did either but I absolutely did. Good luck!!
