librarygirl, sorry that AF found you but hopefully you have gotten some pain relief.  A 2.5 week migraine sounds like no fun at all.

dakipode: I love my new dress!  Wore it to a baby dedication today and several people commented how pretty I was in the dress.  Great complements are always good!

AFM: had a fun day with friends who I used to spend a lot of time with before they had kids (one has a two year old little girl and the other a 5 month old).  We got to together to celebrate the 5 month old's baby dedication at church today.  Very special ceremony blessing the parents and little girl and consecrating them to the Lord as the parents raise the little girl.  It was so sweet.  Then we had a potluck at the park afterward.  DH and I stayed at the park party for about 3 hours and when we could stand the heat no longer (it was 93 degrees F) we came home.  Got to hold the baby, talk with my girl friends and have fun.  Much needed!

Can I join in!? My name is Victoria, call me Torre for short. Husband and I have been NPNT/TTC since October, we started TTC last July, but put it on hold after I started having migraines. We have moved into the active "OH CRAP why aren't we pregnant yet phase", now though.... SIGHHHHHH... I've been a member of Mothering for a while. We have 2 little girls, have had somewhat of a rocky road but are on our way to better days. I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm last October after the migraines started (unrelated however) which has made for some stressful times. But we are committed to baby number 3 and are supposed to be seeing an infertility specialist August 1st. I've started temping and using OPK's again. Im gearing up to ovulate now, I think... Just wanted to stop in, say HOLA! Hope I can join the fun!

Librarygirl- do you suffer with migraines often? I know I do! My Dr prescribed Fiorcet (which is caffeine, tylenol, and butalbitol). Most HCP's consider it safe during pregnancy and TTC. The Butalb is a barbiturate though so its only recommended no more than once or twice per week it CAN make headaches worse if taken too often. Be careful with Percocet (not trying to undermine anyone's advice at all, but im a nurse and work in a detox and it scares the pants off of me), while it's safe, its an Opiod and if overused can mimick heroin like withdrawals and can be addictive. Have you tried prevention? Magnesium can help as well as Vit b2 (Riboflavin) as a preventative measure. I've found those help me alot! I get hormonal migraines and tension migraines so of course Yoga and massage along with acupuncture and chiro if you are open to it help as well. I also keep a headache journal with the foods I ate that day! It can help you draw correlations between food and migraines. HTH! Migraines STINK!

OOOOO and I had a 8 day migraine in May and finally BENEDRYL saved me! I passed out for 16 hours, but I woke up headache free!

Sometimes I really wonder about FF.  Today, it gave me cross hairs because last week i had wet CM and my temp "jumped", but I know that O should be coming soon, although no EWCM yet.  I am hoping for this weekend when DH and I are away at a family reunion where we can sleep in and relax in our hotel away from everything. I am wondering if my CM pattern is getting more normal now that I have been on thyroid drugs for 8 months. I was noticing that my O dates have been in the 14-16 day range and my last cycle was only 27 days long, not 35 like it used to be.

Had EWCM yesterday.  Yeah!  Not much today.  I wonder who long it will last this month?  I am hoping for less than my usual 7 days.  DH and I are going away for the weekend so hopefully we can relax and have a little fun.

lilac: happy BD'ing this weekend!

AFM: O arrived earlier than ever, CD18, very exciting, with accompanying EWCM, which I hadn't seen in a while either, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this cycle.

So far so good for a relaxing weekend.  Meeting lots of relatives that I haven't seen in probably 15 years.  Pretty cool.  Lots of time for BDing :)

NanandAubie- I am wondering whether there is any interference I should worry about between Magnesium and Synthroid. I know I have to take my prenatals several hours away from the time I take Synthroid due to the iron, so I just want to avoid any other possible interactions as well.Separate issue from migraines, but I don't take Perc very often. However, when my Tramadol doesn't work for my Endo pain, I sometimes have to go to the Perc. Trying to avoid all narcotics right now though.

I am just getting back from a very busy week and then a weekend when I just wanted to sleeeeeppp all the time. I am on CD 30 and didn't temp, so not sure when I O'd. BUT 30 days is late for me, and I am so sleepy. This is only my 2nd cycle after MC, so that may be throwing it off. But I'll keep you updated.

Sorry I don't have time for personals right now; I'll have more time this week.

Hi Everyone,

AF started a few days ago. My last two cycles have been 32 days, so that might be the new norm. DH and I had a talk the other day once AF started... We only BD once a week or so (his choice) and the one time I got pregnant in the past year was when we took the time to not schedule meetings, etc during my fertile window. I asked him if we could either use protection or really try to conceive, and not do any of this frustrating in-between stuff. He wants to wait several months before really trying again. Not what I wanted to hear.

Sorry to hear that TeamViddy. I know that BDing when the time is right is so crucial and have DH on board is also so important.

Personally I was just noticing today that this cycle my DH and I  BDed 3 times during the fertile window including the day I Oed.  That has only happened twice before since we started TTC in April 2011 and those two times were before I was taking meds for my hypothyroidism and before he was taking supplements to up his sperm count.  I am hoping for a free baby and not have to go through IVF, but we are gearing up for IVF anyway.  DH has another sperm freeze this Friday, Aug. 3 so hopefully we will get what the Dr considers an appropriate number of sperm to give an IVF cycle a try.

TeamViddy, sorry to hear your DH is not on the same page as you are, that can be frustrating. I'm sorry I don't have any words of wisdom for you, just wanted to send my moral support.

Lilac, I love the "free" baby comment. DH and I thought it would be easier and cheaper to TTC than to adopt. Not so sure on the easier part (certainly not easy on the emotional side) and we might be moving away from the cheaper as well if I decide to pursue fertility treatments...

AFM: awaiting AF. This has been an unusual cycle for me, early O and BBs been sore forever but no BFP, though I am only on 11DPO. My longest LP so far has been 13 days so it'll be interesting to see if it's any longer this time given the earlier O.

dakipode, we have looked into adoption as well a little, and it seems quite intense financially as well.  When people make comments to me about "adopting to help a child who isn't loved", it breaks my heart and makes me want to adopt, but financially it isn't a rose garden either.  Both fertility treatments and adoption appear to cost a lot of money and invoke quite an emotional roller coaster.  Both leave us with no guarantees of a take home baby or child because birth parents may change their minds or the fertility treatments may not work. I really liked the post you had about an attitude of gratitude. I think that daily writing of something that I am thankful for has a positive effect on my mental outlook.  http://www.creatingafamily.org/ has some great podcasts and blog posts that have helped me think about all the different ways families are created.  I will be a mom, I am just not sure how it will happen just yet.

wave.gif Hiya !

Can I join y'all ? I'm 31, TTC since 10/2011, miscarriage at 4/2012 at 8ish weeks. I am not charting because it makes me insane. Ha. Estimated O date was 7/2012 based on cervix position and CM. All indications point to AF coming in a couple days as scheduled (cramps, breaking out, etc.). Boo ! Am going to comb back through thread and try to 'get to know' everyone now.

Xxoo

Hey everyone. I didn't see an August thread yet so I continued this one. I've not been around much but thought I'd drop in.

After four weeks of headache and nothing helping (including vicodin, shots of toradol, etc), I ended up in the emergency room last week where a very astute physician caught my husbands comment about visiting the ER for the same thing a year ago, almost to the day, for a 4 week migraine. She started asking questions and re-diagnosed me. After 20 years of failed migraine treatments, it appears that I have cluster headaches, not migraines! they are more painful and a greater challenge to treat but the diagnosis at least puts us in the right direction. My GP agreed with the diagnosis, gave me Fiorinal with codeine and referred me to a neurologist. That fiorinal has been a life-changer this week. I still have the headaches but I can deal with them now. I will probably be trying chiropractic care as well to see if I can get some relief without pain killers. Most of the preventative meds for clusters are NOT fetus-safe so we will not be investigating those options right now.

As for baby-making- I'm 3DPO but not super optimistic. Google cluster headaches and you'll know why DH and I haven't been much in baby-making mode lately. We got in 2 sessions during fertile window but I don't know... Not getting my hopes up this cycle at all.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Howdy ladies over here on the TTC path- I am just dropping in from the Bajingo TTC graduates- and preggos thread to say hello and introduce myself- sparrows.  We have several women who have had their babies and are having their babies soon, and want to invite you all to check in over there, and join when you get your BFP ++++!!  It may get pretty lonely over there- so in addition to your DDC look for our thread- I will be thread keeping for Fall 2012-

We are anyone pregnant with their first in their 30's - and a few with their 2nd baby- 1st in their 30's- if you are a graduate of this thread OR just came across the thread and did not participate in this thread- come on over.  This thread is full of supportive, funny and smart women who are very open and delightful, I hope to keep our little community going in the near future and into motherhood.
