Is it too late to BD tonight if I felt my ovulation pain this afternoon?

Thanks!

Ovulation pain isn't the best predictor of ovulation. While MOST ovulate before they feel the pain, some feel ovulation pain before and during ovulation (and this can change month to month). It wouldn't hurt to bd, even if you already ovulated, you can conceive up to 24 hrs after ovulation.

Thanks!  I wasn't aware of that.  For some reason I was just assuming that the pain meant the egg was being released....but a quick google search brought up lots of women asking about O pains in relation to ovulation, and it is quite variable.  I was worried this morning when my temp didn't rise because I was assuming that I O'd yesterday, but now I know some women don't ovulate until a few days after the pain, so that makes me feel better.

For me personally, I tend to feel O pain leading up to ovulation, a sharp pain which signals actual ovulation, then a decrease in pain. Makes it easy for me. It doesn't happen like that every month, though. There are a few months where I barely feel anything at all.

I think as long as you are close to your O pain, it could be successful. Timing for right before ovulation is the most successful, but right after can be, too. As long as it's not, like, 2 days after, there's always a chance.

Thanks. According to my chart, I ovulated 2 days after I initially felt the O pains (discomfort near my ovary, low ab and back crampiness, bloat)   Pre-TTC I was going off of that pain to loosely keep track of my cycles and luteal phase, but now I know I was probably off on my LP by a couple days.  Interesting stuff.
