Chuord, I'm 32 weeks! I sort of can't believe it!

Jpack, I think it's exciting that you are starting injectables!

Sherry, hi! Nice to "see" you. I'm excited for you to be starting a Femara cycle . . . one tube is all you need!

bebe - 32 weeks!!! you are so close! can't wait to see pics of your baby girl (well, pics that don't make her look like the terminator ;-)

jpack - i'm excited about this cycle for you! you might just be next!

sherry - i totally get you on the anti-immigrant rants that have been sparked by the boston tragedy. while my dh is not an immigrant, he is constantly assumed to be so it makes me nervous just the same. there are nutjobs of all races and religious backgrounds. of course, we have to, as a nation, be alert to terrorist threats... but we've had far more domestic terrorism over the years than international. i just wish there was more emotionally intelligent conversations vs. inflammatory rhetoric coming out of washington (and on the 24 hour news cycle). i'm so hopeful for you in this coming cycle! I do agree with your dh... you obviously have an open tube! Let's get 'er done!

chrissy - wave.gif any news in your world?

skj - can't wait for your first OB appointment... wow, i know this has been anything but "fast" for you but it sure feels to me like time has flow since your positive hpt!

I'm an absolutely terrible thread friend...

GTree - YAY!!! Can't wait for pictures and a story!!!!

Jpack - I'm so sorry it didn't work out, but excited for you injectables cycle! Hey, that 15% worked for me!

Indie - Excited for your cycle as well!!!

SKJ - How neat to see you baby moving so much! I was having scary back pain last week too. I figured out that it was being caused by my super super tight because that is where I do my injections every day piriformis muscles. They were so tight that they were pulling my back muscles and my back was compensating for my hips. I put a heat pack on my butt where I do the injections every couple days when the area gets really sore and that has gotten rid of the back pain. I'm interested to see how they taper you off the meds.

AFM - I had about 4 days last week where I felt "pretty good". I took advantage and totally binged those days because I know I've probably lost a few lbs and that I hadn't been getting enough calories. Then I was at the longest most insane birth ever! 105hrs from when contractions started to when baby was born! (not to scare any of the pregnant ladies or all those hoping to get pg and deliver a baby) 11hrs of off and on pushing and baby was born vaginally! The strength of this woman was incredible and I will remember her forever. The female body is absolutely amazing! Needless to say I did not sleep very much for days. Thankfully the whole time I was with her I felt pretty OK. But it caught up to me yesterday and I was so so sick again. Anyways, 9wks today, 2 more weeks until I hopefully begin weaning off the PIO, 3 wks until we can hopefully hear the heart beat with the doppler.

I will try to catch up more soon...

indie/sherry- It is interesting to hear there is immigrant debate over what happened in Boston. Maybe it is just our news is still so focused on the victims and the ongoing funerals and maybe that I haven't watched any news in a few days because I'm sick and in bed by 9. Seems silly they'd blame all immigrants over a few bad guys.

bebe-32 weeks... Holy moly!

jpack- I just today realized what your username stood for... I just never connected it.. haha. I'm excited for this cycle too. I think your success rate should be higher that you know you can fertilize and implant and hopefully with a better quality egg you will get it to stick! silamarila did it, you can do it!

So close to getting the beads sent out! I think I'm just waiting on 2 more packages! Gtree will have to use hers just to remember us since the boys are already here!

Sila - Omg 105 hrs!!! 11 hrs pushing, did you suggest she trains for marathons! I'm really not surprised it knocked you around... It feels to me like routine and pregnancy go together (especially the first trimester)... Not really going to happen with your job 😜
So I know you're not scanning in the first trimester, if there's two heartbeats are you scanning then? (Apologies - I'm living vicariously and have a bet in my head it's twins)
Hugs all!

Chuord, I actually don't have everything ready yet -- we kind of went on a cleaning binge and pulled everything from the front and guest closets, and now it's an absolute disaster! But I'm working on it. :) It will be nice and organized at least!

Indie, I can't wait to have pics to show you guys!! It's crazy how quick pregnancy goes by . . . I always thought it would feel like forever, and it's quite the opposite experience! I'm so, so excited for your IVF cycle! Come on Baby Indie!

SKJ, so excited for your first OB appt, too! Yay, yay!

Sila, 9 weeks, that's so awesome! Can't wait until you can hear the heartbeat, it's the best. :) 105 hour labor? O.M.G.

TF, my beads were mailed today!

Chrissy, fingers crossed for great news for you mom come Monday, and so glad you are enjoying gardening with DS. I am really excited that after loving-but-not-really-helping gardening, DD will finally be old enough this summer to HELP! But, of course it's gonna be a lame gardening year for us, since I'll be gone from the end of May to the beginning of July.

Sila, How are you feeling now? Great story about the birth. I just knew DD's birth was going to be long, and I remember reading a story from the Farm from a mom who had been in labor for 3 days. Good grief! I hope yours got some rest in there! Must have been an amazing experience!

Hi Everyone!

AFM, JUST did my first follistim injection ( thought it was gonna be Gonal-f, but that's not what I got! I'm happy, because, Sila, that's what you used, right ?!)

I have to say, lame as it sounds, it still stings a little - just like a bee sting. I bet it'll be better in a different spot. Anyway, I'm feeling OK about this cycle, not really optimistic, but at least happy about trying something new. Baselines today were OK, though the right ovary looked really quiet to me. I was told a total AFC of 15, but I don't think she really counted. I guess I'll know a lot more on the 30th for monitoring. I guess that's all I got... Oh, went for a great bike ride today with DD in a chariot behind. WHen we lived in NM, we bike commuted most of the time to the university where we worked and where I went to school. It was about 9 miles each way, but 97% on a bike path. I miss it SOOOOO MUCH! I LOVE my bike and I've literally gotten on it 3 times since I moved here. Pathetic. But, I have to either move or get over my fear of riding on the road with cars (narrow, windy old roads around here) if I'm gonna start riding regularly.

OK, that's really it.

Jpack - Yes! I thought I was going to be using Gonal-f too, but then I got sent Follistim (because of my insurance I think) and we went with that! Did you inject in your belly or thigh? Also make sure that your skin is dry after wiping with the alcohol wipe. That helps with the stinging. You'll be a pro in a couple days ;) How am I feeling? I think I'm just at that point where I'm so so tired now no matter what. I just want to sleep all the time. And I do. I go the bed at like 8:30 and take a nap too...

Chrissy - My DS LOVES to garden! My husband is in charge of the garden (if I touch anything it dies) and the 2 of them have been out getting the beds ready for our seedlings!

Chrissy, I'm so so sorry about your mom. Keep us all posted, you will be in my thoughts.

Jpack I understand how you can feel kind of blah and not optimistic but still glad to be trying something new. I totally get that. At least we are moving FORWARD, right? and something, someday, WILL work.

Bebe glad everything is progressing so well! Exciting that people graduate from this thread. I know we all will!!!

AFM. OK. I'm like 7 DPO right now and I am trying not to get too excited, and it could just be psychosomatic, but I'm have some slight implantation signs?!? I mean beyond the usual progresterone fake-out symptoms. I have felt lightly crampy (like swollen abdomen) all weekend and got a little pink spot just now in the bathroom and it is WAY too early for my usual pre-AF spotting (which starts around 12 dpo for me). Also my breasts are a little tender, which usually starts to happen around 11 dpo for me.

I am trying not to get my hopes up too high because I KNOW a week from now I am going to be completely crushed. The good news is I have some interesting professional things happening right now so if this is not my cycle, at least I have more time to follow through on those things.

Happily married for 5 years. Tried for our first baby 6/2011, got preg right away, and miscarried. Took a 4 month break, and then had nothing but infertility & a few early miscarriages until 12/2012 when we learned I had a lumpy edge in my uterus. Doc removed it and now we are trying again....

jpack - an AFC of 15 is awesome! hope this is the magic bullet for you :)

daurlelia - i'm getting excited FOR you!

how is everyone else doing?

i'm cd7. i'm getting the hang of all these meds, just have to look at my protocol 1,000 times to remind myself of what I'm doing! Menopur is the weirdest one. Feels like a science project with the mixing of vials and all. So far no side effects to write home about. Had a great weekend out in the sun and now I'm at the office finishing up a few things to get ready for this week. It's going to be a busy one but I think that's probably a good thing... will hopefully keep me from obsessing too much. I'm so early in this process. It's going to be a while before I start getting any action in my ovaries, I think. My next appointment is on Tuesday but I don't expect to see a lot at that point. Prayers appreciated. So freaked out that I won't even make it to ER or that I will have zero fertilization and this entire cycle will be a bust...

Chrissy - hugs and fx your mum's issue turns out to be an easy fix!

Jpack - fx for the new protocol, it's so cool you're doing the same thing sila did!

Daurelia - I know you're trying not to get too excited... But here's hoping the good symptoms are an early sign!

Sila - I'm still hoping for two lol, sorry about that... But it feels so exciting!
SKJ, TF - what's going on with you lovely ladies? TF - when does your ivf cycle start?

Indie - hugs on the worry, this thread is full of extremely competent ladies who like to organize and feel on top of everything 😄 I totally love that, everything will happen as its meant to... I know you'll get your baby - as will everyone... You are in control of this process as much as you can be... Sending you prayers and healing, and everybody much love!

A quick update on my mom. Results are it's a fluid filled mass surrounding the ovary. She's being referred to a cancer specialist. Ob said "if they say it's nothing, it's nothing but I don't think it's nothing".

Hi. Not to be weird but good, 95% benign. I am kind of an ovarian cyst junkie....fluid is better than a solid mass or mixed. It is a meticulous removal so many regular OB/gyns don't like to do the surgery. Think of cutting through a banana skin to remove a water balloon without popping it all through a 3-6 inch hole. They do like to remove it whole to send to pathology. Unless it is really big then they do a controlled aspiration with a good rinse of the pelvic cavity....sorry if I am getting to technical. Did they say how big? Did the GYN feel it during a routine exam or was she having pain?

Either way it is continued stress until your on the other side of it. Hugs. Hang in there. I hope your consult appt. Is soon.

I"m so sorry Chrissy. But, Sherry seems to be less concerned, so that's great. I literally just learned the other day from some radio program that fluid filled things on u/s are way less bad than the other kind, so I'm hoping that the OB is just being extra cautious and it's nothing too serious. Sherry seemed to confirm that and then some (so awesome!).

Thank you, Sherry. I keep telling her it's not cancer it's probably just a cyst. Her ob is retiring and I think she just doesn't want to mess with it.

What happened was she got some pretty bad pain in her pelvic area behind her belly button that radiated to the sides but mostly to the left. It lasted for a few days and her doc said it could be anything but scheduled her for a scan in 2 weeks. She was feeling fine but I made her go as it's unusual for her to have any pain there. The u/s showed the right was swollen so that's why the ob sent her for the MRI. Ob sounds a bit worried so I feel it's more of a safe then sorry situation.

Mom did say she looked it up and a symptom is back pain and she's been having that but said she chalks it up to old age (she's 63).

Thanks a ton for letting me get this off my chest here. I know it's not IF related but I so appreciate it.

Edit to add: Haven't been told size. I could probably have her call and find out.

Me - 39 - mthfr c677t and multiple unknown caused m/c's
DH - 40 - old and cranky
DS - 6 - ASD and severe adhd

Chrissy - I'm sending lots of healthy "it's nothing serious" vibes to your mom. So sorry you are going through this.

Jpack - Can't wait to hear how your monitoring appointment went today!

Indie - How are all the shots treating you? Any side effects? Excitedly waiting to hear how your scan went today too!

TF - What's new in your world? Can't wait for your FET.

Sila - Glad you got a few "good" days. I started feeling a lot better around 10 weeks, and then things got really bad. Things are starting to get a little better. I'm ready for the second trimester energy boost!

AFM - Sorry I've been such a slacker lately with this thread. I've been reading along every day, just not doing a good job of posting. I had my last RE appointment today! Baby measure 11w3d - spot on. HR was 163. The nurse told me to start weaning off the prometrium. I'm to take it every other day for a week and then stop. I'm waiting to hear what my P4 is before deciding to wean. If it's nice and high, I'll stop, otherwise, it can't hurt to keep taking it. I'm not sure about the estrogen patches. Will know this afternoon. I have my first OB appointment on Friday. I'm waiting for the MaterniT21 results. I should find out sometime between this Friday and next. If the results are negative, I'll be telling DD. The plan is to have her tell her grandparents smile.gif

SKJ - love the pic!! Congratulations on the amazing progress and the graduation!!! smile.gif very cool!

Chrissy, I'm so sorry about the stress for your mom, but so great for Sherry's perspective.

Afm, I was supposed to be monitored tomorrow, originally, but then I asked for either Tuesday or Thursday since Wednesday I don't have childcare. But this morning, I had another appointment at 10 (monitoring at 9:15). I was a little late thanks to super crazy hectic stressful traffic, and then the front desk lady was on the phone.... Anyway, when I went to sign in, there looked like about four women ahead of me for ultrasound and I just got really frustrated (I've waited for over an hour before). I totally just left. I was just sure if i stayed i was going to miss my 10 o'clock. So the nurse was fine with me just switching back to tomorrow, but somehow I had this feeling like my intuition was telling me I was really screwing myself up by leaving. Like somehow waiting for tomorrow was going to be a big mistake. I have no idea why, but the feeling was just really strong. Oh, and major ewcm (way early for me)... Anyway, I'll know more tomorrow! And, bruising from the follistim, but I'm definitely getting better at it, and Sila, my belly. Bad choice? Ok, that's it for the moment!

J(30) + J(34) = E(6/2009)  ...  + ?(?)

SKJ - love your babies profile! Such a beautifully shaped head! Congrats on the graduation! That is soo exciting, fx all is normal with the materni21 test... But for some reason I don't feel worried at all for you... Baby feels like a keeper 😃
Jpack - wow that is so rude they overbook like that! I'm a little concerned about your intuition though - it sounds very strong! Are you allowed to naturally bd this cycle? If so I'd be tempted to get some in tonight in case...
How is everyone else traveling?
