pitch, tomorrow, the doctors will transfer back 2 of the best embryos from the 14 and then I wait until April 10 for a pregnancy blood test which gets repeated on April 12 to make sure the pregnancy hormones are increasing.  After tomorrow's 9 am transfer, I am on bed rest the rest of Saturday and all of Sunday. I can hardly believe this is happening!

Two beautiful embryos were transferred this morning. We have 11 to freeze because one of to 14 didn't survive overnight. My husband and I cried as we looked at the photo of our 4 celled babies. Laid at the clinic for an hour and now we are on our way home. Dr. Dodds gave me a prescription for estrace in addition to the prometrium tablets I have already been taking. Now the bedrest for the rest of the weekend and waiting for my beta on April 10 to find out if I am pregnant.

Oh Lilac, how wonderful and exciting!!  I'm sending lots of baby dust your way---here's hoping those TWO embies stick!  I hope you get some rest and pamper yourself in the next few days.  You deserve it after all the work you've done to get this far.

Me (32) and DH (30) welcomed our precious baby boy 1/2013... life is good.

Can I just say that strict bedrest is really hard! My back started to hurt by late evening. I don't usually lay on my back for hours. All I could do was get up for the bathroom. Today I can change positions but still need to be horizontal.

Happy Easter! I hope my embryos are growing well inside of me. DH is finally awake. I am hungry but I have to wait for him to make me some food. I asked for scrambled eggs, toast, and some veggie sausage patties.

Hope everyone else's Easter i a great one! Is any one else doing something special?

Happy Easter!

Lilac - why the bed rest? Is that normal for all ivf?

Married to my favorite man in '07. Our firstborn came along in April 2012 (HBC), and our second is on the way, due sometime in May 2014 (planning an HBAC).

RosieL I think some bedrest after embryo transfer is normal for all ivf, but different doctors seem to do different amounts. I am glad tomorrow I can get up and around some, but still resting when I need it. I am lucky this is spring break. Definitely not ready to be moving around at school yet.

birdie I am thankful for my smartphone and wifi. Been reading, playing an online drawing game, and talking to friends on the phone. I am definitely thinking baby thoughts!

JustJenny, the embryo transfer was basically painless. I felt pressure like a pap smear for a few seconds and then within minutes it was over. It was amazing how fast the transfer went. The egg retrieval was more involved and I think I probably could have used more pain meds for that because it hurt. The egg retrieval was "conscious sedation".
