Well... I've stopped the Vitex after a month.

I started off taking the recommended dose and it really started messing with me. Everything from painful, painful cramps to really bad nightmares... I was also super nauseated all the time. I tried cutting the dose in half, to just one pill in the morning, that helped some, but I was still having side effects.

My husband and I talked about it and thought it best to just stop.

So now I'm back to square one... I still haven't had a cycle since the beginning of January and I've taken prego tests a few times just to make sure I'm not cooking anything in there. All have been negative so far. The funny thing is even though I haven't had a cycle it seems like my body is trying to ovulate at the moment which is weird to me. I didn't think that you could ovulate unless you had a cycle.

Not sure what to do right now other than continue to have sex and pray that we get a good batch of swimmers smile.gif I've also decided to focus on being healthy. I've been doing yoga now for 7 months now and I've recently cut back on my alcohol. Not that I drank very much but instead of 3 or 4 drinks a week I'm down to just one, maybe two if it's a special occasion. Also doing my best to eat better and more organic foods.

Any advise would be appreciated!

Blessings,

Krista

It sounds like you made a good decision on the vitex.  Have you talked to your primary health care provider about not having a regular cycle?  I found the book Making Babies helpful.  I got it from the library.  It looks at fertility from a medical as well as a traditional Chinese medicine prospective and gives many suggestions on what can help.  Good luck!

I have talked to my doctor about my cycles not being regular and we've done all the tests. I'm fine. I tend to produce a little more estrogen but that's really it... And one time I had a small cyst on one of my ovaries.

I have always been irregular. Ever since I started my period I've been irregular but it seems that since I've gotten older it's gotten lengthier between cycles. Currently I'm going on 5 months... I think that I'm going to pick up some Progesterone cream today and see if that makes a difference.

Making Babies sounds familiar. I think I've heard of that book and actually that's another stop I was going to do today, the book store. I will look for that one and there are a couple others I want to check out too.

Blessings,

Krista

Actually, I just had a doctors appointment this morning and I can finally say that after three years of trying to get pregnant.... I'M GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!

I just found out like 3 hours ago so I'm still on cloud nine and in shock. My doc thinks I'm about one month along which is crazy to me since I had NO clue other than I could've sworn my boobs had gotten bigger within the last month. Now I know why!

I go back next week for a sono and then after that I will start looking for a midwife.

This is such a huge answer to prayer... wow....

Blessed,

Krista
