We are TTC, and I was curious as to what you all use for a prenatal vitamin? I am currently using a twice a day prenatal by Twinlab, but I am looking to switch, as my naturopath wasn't such a fan of the one I showed her.
Thanks so much!
I like Pregvit. It's prescription so my insurance pays for it, which is great but it also made me less sick as it has a lower dose of iron. You take the pink pill in the morning on an empty stomach which has the iron in it and the blue one with the calcium in the evening with dinner. Evidently calcium prevents iron from being absorbed so since the two are separated, you don't need as much iron.
While I was pregnant I couldn't go really long without eating or I'd get sick so I used to keep the pink ones in the bathroom and take them at 3am when I was getting up to pee for the 5th time anyway :)
They seem to be pretty good because in the hospital they took bloodwork after my c-section and asked what vitamins I was taking as they were astonished at the levels (of whatever it is they were measuring). They said it looked like I hadn't even had surgery... and I'm far from being a healthy eater so it had to have been the vitamins.
