Brooksfam - I have been temping for about 8 months and trying for 13. I set an alarm for 5:45am every day (the time my husband wakes up for work) and then on days I can sleep in, I just go back to sleep. My temps are usually 96.8-97.1 in the beginning and then 97.5-98.5 after I have O'd. I usually have a temp drop right before my O and usually have it stagger up instead of shooting straight up to a high temp. I am fortunate to have good CM so that helps in figuring out when I'm about to O. Near the end of my cycle my temperature drops, my LP varies from 14-16 days - which can be disappointing when I think my temp is staying up and then AF comes anyway. I have found that even if I don't get a full night's sleep or something goes wrong I can still see a nice pattern and can tell when I O'd. If you need any help, let me know!

TeaJunkie - I am sorry that you are feeling discouraged this cycle. I hope that you have a positive outcome or a better shot next cycle!

AFM - I am 5 DPO and not holding out a lot of hope for getting KU without infertility help even though my chart looks good as far as BD'ing goes. Trying to stay positive - we should be hopefully going to a specialist soon and then I hoping we're KU soon after that!

Winter2013 - are we cycle buddies?

Marcyse, thanks for much for sharing your temping experience! I'm getting the hang of it slowly.. My routine is pretty similar to yours, so I'm glad to know I'm on the right track!

Yes! And I'm getting impatient already lol! lurk.gif The tww goes so slow and I'm trying to hold off testing until AF is due this time which is next Monday, when are you testing? I know I have less of a chance this cycle because of the timing but I'm convinced I'm peeing more today and have sore boobs ....uhoh3.gif Implantation hasn't even happened at 5DPO right? so I know I'm imagining it all, crazy.

Goodluck to all!

12DPO today and FF gave a "go" for testing. DH said I could break down and buy some tests although $20 was my self imposed limit for two and two FRER's were over $30!!!!! Yikes! So I ended up with a Clearblue double package. One regular blue dye test and one digi. I took the regular one today with a loooooong hold on my SMU and it was a BFN greensad.gif

I go back and forth between symptoms for AF or pregnancy or nothing. 12 DPO is the longest LP I've had this year, and my temp also went *up* this morning.

We'll see what happens tomorrow but most likely I will not be able to stop myself from peeing on the digi unless AF shows up first (I prefer to pee in a cup first instead of actually ON the test, mainly for this reason wink1.gif ) and then I'll see my doc on Tuesday for something unrelated but she'll do a test and a blood test if I ask.

Feeling kinda bummed and kinda optimistic still. And I am slightly excited to keep trying if not lol

I just feel like April would have been a wonderful month for a baby! And thinking about TTC is taking up far too much of my time wink1.gif

Winter - I am going to try my hardest not to test before next Tuesday. I have been pretty good at not testing early and trying to patiently watch my temps, but when they remain high at that stage of the cycle, I can't help myself but test!

I read this book "The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant" by Jean M. Twenge, Ph.D. She basically took all the things people say help getting pregnant and old wives tales and compared them to actual studies. It helped me a lot to not look into my symptoms as much (I was driving myself INSANE thinking everything was a pregnancy symptom!) - it said that any symptoms would be after 7-10 DPO with implantation and that it would be really difficult to tell anything until after AF is supposed to show up. I don't know if this helps or not, but the book is a great, easy read, and it makes you feel much less anxious about this whole process.

Delightedbutterfly - I hope that your temp going up is a good sign. Unfortunately, I had that recently and then it went back down the next day, drastically. I hope it's different for you!!

AFM - DH was supposed to go for a second semen analysis, but we both totally forgot and had sex last night, so we have to reschedule. Hopefully I'm pregnant and this test won't even matter anyway. Oh, and I forgot to bold this - please move me to waiting to know.

marcyse thanks for the book info I will check it out. Af is due for me on Monday, so I doubt I will be able to wait any longer than that to test...I may even give in and test earlier with the internet cheapie tests, although I am more anxious about using them as last cycle they seemed to have a bfp line there when it wasn't...ust be a faulty batch, so I'll try not to. And I only have one digital test left from last time, so I want to wait until AF is due before I use that. 6 more days to go!

Delighted sorry about the BFN but you still have chance, and high temp is a good sign fx!

I read something today that gave me hope regarding my timing this cycle, it said once the sperm are inside they can take 1-12 hours to reach the egg, the fastest strongest sperm can reach the egg in 1 hour! and my egg had maybe 5 hours left of viability before it's 24 hours were up once the sperm were in, so hoping there was a strong fast swimming one!

Marcyse - that's a great reminder. I don't get a bunch of my PMS symptoms when I'm pregnant. Usually I get no symptoms which is the weird part for me. So as long as I'm having symptoms I should just expect AF wink1.gif

Winter - I feel like your TWW is just FLYING by wink1.gif I know it probably doesn't feel like it to you but it is here! Fingers crossed for some good fast swimmers!!!

My temp dropped this morning under great temping conditions. So I'm not testing today. If for some reason AF doesn't come (unlikely I got super irritable last night) then I'll get the doctor to test tomorrow but I think I'm out for this month greensad.gif

Anyone care to tell me what they think is going on with my chart? I thought I had a positive OPK test on June 19, but they're the low-tech kind, I just started using them, and I may have read the strip wrong. Would I be getting the kind of temp drop I got this morning if I actually had ovulated?

Also, I bought the thermometer secondhand but new in the box like four years ago. I wonder if I should get a new one.

I can! For some reason my chart keeps showing up in your other one lol

From looking at the chart I would say there is a good chance you haven't ovulated yet. Especially with one/two off high temps (were they the wrong time or?). When do you usually ovulate or do you know?

I don't know about the thermometer. A new battery maybe would work since it's been boxed for four years. But I wouldn't change a battery or thermometer half way through a cycle either...

This is a good reminder for me as I try to ignore symptoms at 3DPO lol.gif  (I know better but it's sooo hard not to wonder why this thing or that thing is different than usual!)

*MamaJen*, I agree with delightedbutterfly.  It really doesn't look like you ovulated yet.  What did your OPK look like that you thought was positive?

AFM:

I will start testing on Saturday.  I will only be 8 DPO but  I got an early + with my DS.

Good luck, everyone!  I'm thinking good thoughts for all of you.  :)

Personally, I'm all like "I don't symptom spot this early, that's ridiculous. Oh, a cramp! Maybe that was implantation!"

Marcyse:  that book sounds like something I should read too!

Delighted:  Crossing my fingers for you!

tantylynn:  Lets up hope this is the cycle for you!

AFM:  Semen analysis came back last night.  Looks like DH is totally 'normal'.  The only test we have left is for me to get my progesterone tested this Sat which is CD21.  I'm actually feeling more relaxed knowing that things are all looking mostly normal.  I was having a lot of anxiety thinking this whole fertility process could get SUPER expensive!  The most expensive thing so far has been that since DH is on an SSRI, we sometimes struggle for him to 'finish'.  So the good doc prescribed him some Viagra..which was freaking expensive!!  It did the job, but I'm just hoping we don't have to use it for long!

FF re-routed my chart, which is also reassuring.  I have not gotten new cross-hairs yet, but my temp has been up the past two days and yesterday I felt pretty certain that O was over. Crossing my fingers that our timing was actually OK this cycle!

11 or 12 DPO today and my temp dropped down to the coverline.  gloomy.gif  This cycle has been so confusing.  I O'ed 3 days after my + OPK, according to Fertility Friend's dotted crosshairs, and I have been spotting/having pink CM since Friday.  I wanted to believe that it was implantation spotting but when I took my temp this morning I cried a bit.  It looks like the dream I had 5 years ago of having a daughter on April 4th will not be coming true.  I am bummed, to say the least!

I'm sorry TeaJunkie greensad.gif Maybe your temp will head back up? Could be an implantation dip?

My temp dropped yesterday and is back up today? So I have no clue what's goin on. A BFN on my last test (digital). Already had a Dr's appointment for today so going to ask for a blood test.

Thanks for the input. Based on couting days, My P-tracker app thought I was going to ovulate yesterday. I thought I got a positive OPK on Friday (though now I'm pretty sure I was misreading it) so I didn't test Saturday or Sunday. I took a OPK test yesterday (Monday) in the early evening, and the test line was aaallllmost as dark as the control line. I did have a temp spike this morning, so we'll see if that stays high. I think it's possible I ovulated Monday and just missed the pre-ovulation test window. Either way, we were at it like bunnies for the last five days, so I think we have that base covered. :)

It's only my second cycle TTC, but I think if we're still working on it next cycle, I'm going to get a new thermometer and some of the higher end OPKs.

No false hope here. AF showed up in full force right after I posted. Please move me back to Waiting to O, though we're going to reevaluate TTC when I get home. I'm wondering if all that soy I ate to move up my O date lowered my progesterone levels because I have never spotted during my LP like that.

Jayray and TeaJunkie, I'm joining you all on waiting to O.  Missed again.

I'd worked so hard to just relax in June that I really had my heart set on July being our month.  We are well over the year DH and I had decided to try (since we passed the big 40), but thought that the more mellow pace of summer could be a good time.  Maybe when we finally go on vacation in August ... I just don't know when and how I'll be able to let go of TTC#2, and DD, who is only 3 ad doesn't know what's going on, is always telling stories about brothers and sisters and babies in her pretend play.  I keep hoping it's a sign.

sigh

Jayray, TeaJunkie, and zbugmama - I am sorry.  Hugs to you.  TeaJunkie, I think it's a good idea to look at the soy.  zbugmama, a vacation in August sounds like a promising time for TTC.

Does that happen when ur ovulating? If so since we did it the day before is there a good chance? Curious I'm having some cramping today and my bladder feels so full ugh I slept til 11:30 yesterday soooio not normal for me I had to be at work at 12 lol. My son is stating the week with his granny so I was home alone but still I never do that and u felt sick all day might have been cuz slept too long but idk need advice thanks smile.gif

Hi ladies,

I wrote a new thread about this and then saw The One Thread is still here. I was on last year a lot but had 3 losses and now have some anxiety about trying again. So, we're charting and being sure to use condoms when I'm ovulating.

Anyway, I had a big dip in my chart today at 8 dpo. I wonder if it can be caused by feeling cold when I woke up (I was) or if it is more likely implantation dip? On my chart you'll see bd at days 12 and 14 with condoms, and ovulation on day 16. What do you think? Sorry to post this twice. I know this thread is more active than random questions so I thought I should ask you all here. :)

Would y'all mind taking another look at my chart and seeing if it looks like I ovulated? It still has that mountain range kind of up and down. I also don't have total faith in the thermometer that I'm using. Thanks!

Mamajen could O be at day 13? I'm not too sure how it all works with charting but after that day your temps stayed higher, so could be.

Jayray, TeaJunkie, and zbugmama I'm sorry you are out this cycle, it sucks gloomy.gif

At 6DPO I had some light cramping so I hoped it was implantation, then at 7DPO I felt very sick in the morning for a while....but had not slept much that night so could be due to tiredness...then at 8 DPO I felt unusually tired and fell asleep twice during the day! And went to bed at 7.30pm! Hoping they are all signs..

BFN yesterday at 8DPO and today I am 9DPO and actually resisted the urge to pee on a stick, which is amazing for me so quite proud of myself! I didn't have to face the disappointment of  a BFN when it might still be too early to be a true result!

The main symptom I am waiting for is sore boobs, and I don't have those yet....so until I get those I'm very doubtful. I'll probably test tomorrow at 10DPO because I don't think I will be able to resist testing for a second day!!

Oh I also have had a headache most of the day today, and for no reason I can think of....but I don't think headaches are a sign of early pregnancy are they? lol... I don't want to take any painkillers incase I am pregnant though!

It looks possible for Day 13 or 14 MamaJen. It's not as clear but it looks like a pretty distinct possibility!!!
