Sorry for the slow OP. I feel like death. I'll finish editing it when I get home from work. :(

scjp1109 12-01-2013 08:56 AM

Rosie I seen your post on the nov one I tested a cpl days ago and neg so gonna wait a few more days

delightedbutterfly 12-01-2013 09:09 AM

Thanks for the new thread @WifeofAnt!

I can't believe there were no BFP's in Nov! And that everyone's cycles seemed messed up!!!!

Hopefully we have lots for Dec! I for one would love nothing more than a BFP for Christmas!!!

tifga 12-01-2013 10:10 AM

+OPK today. Waiting to see when to go in tomorrow of IUI.

jesepumpkin 12-01-2013 01:29 PM

no nov BFP that sucks, ugh. mountains of baby dust to you all for december!!! you can wrap that pee stick up with a bow, lol!

delighted butterfly, sorry about your cycles, glad that you have a plan. now you can see what your body is trying to do without the progesterone.

naturallymo, hope you get a bfp soon! i know its been awhile as we were both on here in the spring. here i am no further ahead and very depleted, not ready for a BFP yet. we each have our own path and hopefully you get some good results soon. i hope that you are loving your newlywed life while waiting for a baby.

Jesepumpkin - I am so sorry.  It's such a wretched feeling and there is just no sense to it.

nikwhit - those do seem odd to me.  I thought vaginal temps were known for being stable!  I know my temps (not vaginal) are kind of all over the place sometimes, but I've been temping so long that I can see the patterns anyway.  This is your first cycle temping, right?

AFM - I have been testing to see if I can track the dropping hcg.  It's still high.  I wonder if I have any hope of ovulating this cycle.  I do not think I will take a cycle off ... at 40 I just feel like I don't have a lot of time to spare, but I wonder if it's a bad idea not to wait a little.

thank you for your comments. I had tons of EWCM and O symptoms 2 weeks after my m/c and just so happened to get blood work done so checked my hcg. it was 16 and still interfered with O. it dropped 30,000 in 2 weeks.

I'm sorry to hear of your miscarriages. i don't know the whole story but if you didn't have a D&C and you are not anemic then i would go ahead and try when you're ready.

AFM, on the mend. 1 month after m/c. energy picking up. no sign of a cycle but i know it might be a few more weeks before AF. I think i tried and then skipped O, but still using condoms just in case as we aren't ready yet. condoms suuuuuck. saw a fabulous OBGYN and am doing a few more tests. i will be checking my progesterone as soon as i ovulate! i am hoping to be cycling and ready to try in Jan/Feb.

saharaviolet 12-01-2013 01:30 PM

I am still here. After that hellacious November cycle I think my body is trying to reset and ovulated a couple days early. I started Vitex during the trouble days and have been keeping that up. ff says I'll ovulate mid way through this week, but a few signs and a temp spike are telling me I did yesterday. We'll see where the temp goes the next couple days. That means we only did the bd once in the right window... I planned an amorous week coming up! Haha! Oh body are you trying to tell me to BD everyday!?

I hear you delightedbutterfly, a BFP sounds like a nice gift to wrap up under the tree.

Also, I think it was you Rosie saying on the November thread you'd yell your daughters all the BCP horror stories. That made me think about how we are taught about our bodies as Tweens/ teens and that we can get pregnant so darn easily any day of the month. Then you go to TTC and realize the real conception window is so small. Sure would be nice to empower our young women with better info than we had. Makes BCPs seem ridiculous like killing a fly with a machine gun when one little well aimed swat will do.

clarwyn 12-01-2013 01:32 PM

hey everybody... well you can move me to waiting to be ready, but I will probably not hang out here too much for a while. hubby and I decided it makes more sense for me to push thro school and try to graduate before we try to have a baby. I am bummed, but feel it is the right thing to do. I'm not going back on bc because I don't want to deal with all the fun of going off depo; but we'll be really careful for the next 11 months. after that it should be safe to try again... and yes I have already made a ticker, lol!

I wish you all the best, and lots of baby dust, and thank you for your friendship on this journey. this is a great board and y'all are good people. keep being awesome smile.gif I hope that when I come back in a year I don't see a single familiar name cuz you've all gone to DDCs!!! smile.gif

alivewithyou 12-01-2013 02:19 PM

BFPs for Christmas sound like amazing gifts for everyone. I wish everyone the best of luck.

Personally I am on cycle day 9. I've had some very light spotting especially after bd. I'm not overly concerned with it though as long as it stays light. My window is coming up soon so trying to just focus on bd at least every other day and just relaxing and enjoying the holidays. I have a good feeling about this month. smile.gif

badwolf092087 12-01-2013 04:34 PM

First and foremost, may December be full of BFPs got everyone! Happy conceiving!

Hubby and I have been doing the deed and he wants to just 'wing it.' No temps or charting. He's beginning to think the addition of that is not helping. December is the have fun, don't stress, enjoy, etc etc. The only 'stresser' is waiting for the 14th to see if AF arrives. So we're TTC and WTF at the same time.

On a final note, our marriage is official! We had our wedding ceremony yesterday. Here's one of our photos. If you guys want to see more, we are more than happy to share. <3

AF due the 7th. So I just chillin here with a 1 week wait ahead if me. Oh joy!

innacircle 12-01-2013 06:30 PM

Hi Ladies - I hope your holidays got kicked off on the right foot!

DH and I visited family out of state and it was really quite enjoyable.  However, keeping track of TTC went totally out the window during our travels!!!  It was so hard to keep up with -  my sleep schedule was all out of whack (so much for temps) and I was pretty dehydrated.  Meals were not like my usual schedule so taking vitamins/supplements was sporadic at best.  So I just decided to go with the flow and do what I could.  And wouldn't you know my entire fertile window was during our trip.  Oh yeah, BDing also felt like a covert operation... even though we've been married 15 years I felt like we had to sneak it!

I think today (CD13) was O-day, which is a bit early for me.  My CBFM was peak yesterday, and I also got a +OPK yesterday afternoon and late last night.  OPK was back to negative this am.  I felt what could've been O-pains super late on the night of CD11... but since it was before the +OPK I'm a bit unsure.  I don't usually have any sensations surrounding O.  We BD'd CD 9, 11, 12 and 13 so I'm pretty sure we've got it covered timing-wise.  Now I'm just hoping my egg isn't chromosomally coded to have 2 heads!

BTW - Wasn't November the biggest bummer month for TTC?  disappointed.gif Geez!  Nothing but struggles, heartache and WTF moments.

If I could raise a toast, I'd say: "here's to a much better month ahead - let December be a month of happiness, health, prosperity and pregnancy!"  champagne.gif

nikwhit76 12-01-2013 06:42 PM

So we seriously had NO BFP's in November? Wow, August birth board will be a quiet board!!! AFM, I am on dpo 2, have enough creamy CM to make me keep running to the bathroom thinking Im bleeding.VERY gassy, but could have been the 4 hour trip I had today. Watching Walking Dead, wishing the Governor would just have a stinkin heart attack or something. Grrr. Im way to emotionally attached to this show!!!

I'm on CD 10, so we are sort of cycle buddies.  Good luck!

Congratulations on your wedding.  Good luck winging it.  I'm "kind of" doing the same thing this month.

I've never really had O pains, but I have noticed the past two cycles that I get really super painfully bloated around O.  So maybe that's my indication.  Anyway, I heard that O pains can start before O actually happens for some.  For others, they only notice pain when the egg actually releases.  The pain can last a couple of hours up to a couple of days!  So I think as long as you have an idea of when it happens, and you BD leading up to and around that time, then you're good to go.

jesepumpkin and clarwyn:  hope your wait is short and you'll continue to check in here.

AFM:  I'm on CD10 and I did something crazy....I COMMUNICATED with my DH :rotflmaoLOL.  I was thinking how I always let him know when it's time to start trying again, but I pretty much leave it at that.  Then I get all mad when things don't go my way.  But I fail to tell him what my expectations are.  Duh!  Soooooo.....last cycle I had a shorter than normal cycle, so I want to start trying earlier this month in case I O earlier than usual - normal is around CD17.  I'm not doing OPK's either.  I know EWCM is a strong indicator, so I'm just going to start with that and continue until its gone, and then for one or two more rounds afterwards.  Today I had some CM that was stretchy, but not EW.  So I asked him if he wanted to start tonight or tomorrow night.  He said tonight and high-fived me :laugh.  Then I informed him that we needed to DTD every other night until I say to stop.  And no punking out on me.  So hopefully we are on the same page and things will go smoothly this month.  It's so hard to find the time during the work week!  I'm kind of dreading that, but hey, if I want it badly enough I gotta do the work.  Yes, this is getting to be work.  He ALWAYS stays up later than I too.  So it's hard for me to keep up with him.  I'm just going to have to make him come "tuck me in" when I get sleepy.

OK, here's to December.  I'll be 38 tomorrow and I intend on getting pregnant soon.  Let's do this ladies!

jenjy 12-01-2013 08:32 PM

I will come back in and read posts and catch up but for now am posting to sub to the new thread (thank you WifeofAnt for starting it!)

Started heavy spotting today (CD12) after 3 days of no bleeding/spotting.  I guess a normal cycle after the m/c was too much to hope for...

alittlemischief 12-01-2013 10:14 PM

No BFP's for nov? That's so sad greensad.gif if an average couple have a 1 in 5 chance of coneception each month and we have nearly 40members,we *should* have at least 7BFP's? We must be all kinds of specially skewed from the norm wink1.gif here's hoping the numbers go the complete opposite way this month and we are ALL dec graduates!

saharaviolet 12-02-2013 06:23 AM

Got my first ever cross hairs on FF this morning! That was pretty exciting and I do agree with it based on some (very subtle) non-temp signs I noted too. I am patting myself on the back for being observant about the earlier than expected feritle window since it encouraged me to initiate an early bd on thanksgiving... after cooking all day hah! so officially in 2ww mode again. Actually happy to be here after last month's bust and happy to feel confirmed that I really O'd after believing I was broken last month.

Here's to BFP's for us all just in time for this special time of year!

Oh! Question for the researchers among us, FF has cervical position as a secondary not primary sign and I've noticed hardly any movement or change in mine (maybe subtle change) is CP a secondary sign because it's not a very reliable means to check fertility? Do some cervix just not move around all that much or at predictable times?

Haha! This had me laughing!! My mom and dad's house is so tiny. There would be no covert action visiting my family. Glad you found some privacy for the most important part of TTC smile.gif

Becka32 12-02-2013 08:25 AM

10 dpo and tested this morning. BFN.... Ugh. AF should be here the 4th but I O'd 2 days later than normal so it may be the 5th or 6th. Who knows....?!?

innacircle 12-02-2013 10:54 AM

Mittelschmerz

Earlier I posted about my potential O-pains (timing of) and rosie responded that there's a good bit of variation re timing, etc.  So later I was trolling around and found this response on the TWW site and I thought it was worth sharing.

"I just got back from seeing a Fertility Specialist and I asked him if the O pains occur before, during or after Ovulation. And he said in the past it was widely believed that Mittelschmerz pains occur at the time of ovulation due to blood or other fluid being released from the ruptured egg follicle. Now that he had a chance to see this process on the ultrasounds he said that it actually occur BEFORE the actual ovulation. Typically one day before. But remember... it takes a while for the sperm to reach the egg, your most fertile day is the day BEFORE you O. At least that's what he said. So ladies if you feel O pains BD right away!"

Mayo Clinic lists the following as potential reasons for mittelschmerz:

  • Just before an egg is released with ovulation, follicle growth stretches the surface of your ovary, causing pain.  (this would totally make sense for pain before O)
  • Blood or fluid released from the ruptured follicle irritates the lining of your abdomen (peritoneum), leading to pain.

And as an aside for those ladies who experience O-time spotting, I ran across this too:

"Mid-cycle or ovulatory bleeding is thought to result from the sudden drop in estrogen that occurs just before ovulation. This drop in hormones can trigger withdrawal bleeding in the same way that switching from active to placebo birth control pills does. The rise in hormones that occurs after ovulation prevents such mid-cycle spotting from becoming as heavy or long lasting as a typical menstruation. Spotting is more common in longer cycles."

rosie2727 12-02-2013 11:07 AM

innacircle: that would make sense. And I don't feel like one pain...I feel bloated and like my entire abdomen hurts for a day. Maybe I don't feel O pain, but maybe the irritation caused abdominally after O? Either way, I gets tons of EWCM for about 5 days, then nothing for a day or two, then bloating for a day or two. I'm pretty certain I should just BD during this entire time. That should cover all bases. That's what I'm doing this month. No OPKs. Just listening to my body. Thanks for the info.

NaturallyMo 12-02-2013 11:11 AM

Hey ladies! I'm back! AF is late by two days but I'm feeling slightly crampy so I think she will just be late. I haven't tested as of recent but I'm pretty sure I'll get a BFN.

How weird is it that there were no BFPs in November?headscratch.gif

innacircle 12-02-2013 11:21 AM

After our ZERO BFPs last month I’m a bit antsy.  I feel like I need some small milestones to help our month along.  The only way I could think of to do this is make a list of who is going to test on which dates.

Let’s put our potential earliest test dates in a list so we can look forward to some excitement this month!!!

If you'd like to participate, please list the date, your name, and how many dpo you will be when you plan to test.

11th – innacircle (10dpo)

scjp1109 12-02-2013 11:31 AM

Your +OPK was on 11/20 right? So you're about 10-11DPO. I'd test in 2-3 days!! (Who am I kidding? I would test today...but the more sensible person would wait a couple more days.) Do you know if your LP is always 8-9 days?

badwolf092087 12-02-2013 11:32 AM

@innacircle we plan on testing after the 14th. That is, if AF doesn't decide to make a grand appearance since we didn't see her in November but still had BFNs. Fingers crossed.

Now a TMI thing and sort of question. Last night I had extremely lotion like CM that for a second I thought was AF. Anyone have this in the past? Ideas about what it could be? We did the deed regardless of this. I googled and got mixed responses. Some said it was a sign of post ovulation. Others said actual ovulation. And there were just plain stupid and rude responses from people. Just hoping for a good sign since November stunk and this month we're winging it.

How's everyone else?

alivewithyou 12-02-2013 11:52 AM

I plan on testing the 21st of December when AF is due if I can make it.

innacircle 12-02-2013 12:21 PM

Alrighty... we have a list in the making!

UPCOMING TEST DATES

4th - scjp (15dpo)

11th – innacircle (10dpo)

15th - badwolf

21st - alivewithyou

badwolf - sounds like you had a lot of that lotion CM.  I know that CM is supposed to dry up after you ovulate, and then may reappear about a week later with a 2nd estrogen surge.  Sounds like yours might be part of your fertile time.  Was it slippery?

wife - thx for putting me in waiting to know.  You are ON IT!

naturallymo - how long is your LP normally?  I'd guess that the app that predicted O so early was full of it.  It is my understanding that LH won't surge again if you have already ovulated.  That puts you in prime time limbo of AF or BFP...  fingers crossed!  We'd love to see you be the first to cross the finish line!

Today was my IUI.It acutaly hurts alot more then I thought it would be uncomfortable and crampy all afternoon. I have a blood test scedualed for the 16th but if it didnt work i should already have my period by then. I  asked the nurse but she looked at me like i was strange so I thought I would ask here, I'll ovulate today or tomorrow which is day 19 or 20 of my cycle and I'll get my period on day 30 that seems really short to me and the nurse looked at me like that was unusal, not sure my question, am I a freak? Whats up with that? Either way I have offically begun my first TWW.

thanks!
