Today I literally feel like ripping my hair out! We have been TTC baby#2 now for 5 months, last month and this month on Clomid.

I did my 21 day blood test (usual progesterone level check but additionally my estradiol, prolactin, FSH and TSH) yesterday and they called with results. Even though she says all of them are normal....the progesterone level was low for where is should be if I ovulated so she doesn't think I did again this month. Um...isn't that what Clomid DOES? Helps you to ovulate? Why is it NOT working for me?

I don't get it! I did Clomid 100 mg for 5 days (last month it was only 50 mg) and OPK tests which I got a + on CD 13...thus should have ovulated that or the following day. I had what felt like ovulation cramping. WTF?!!

She says to do Clomid for another round (if my period comes next week) and another 21 day check and if it's still off to go to Oregon Reproductive Medicine in Portland. That'd be all great but we cannot afford it right now, so we will have one more refill of Clomid after this coming cycle to use and then it's au natural for us and just have to let luck and nature play it out.

I'm so very confused, upset and my positive "this is gonna happen!" Is beginning to waver. :(

Please tell me that I'm not the only woman that this scenerio has happened to.

Do you know of anyone else with a similar story?

Did it end in a success or just never get pregnant?

That didn't happen to me but it seems possible. Maybe your body geared up to O but didn't. Can your doctor give you a trigger shot to make you ovulate? Can you try letrozole/femara instead? I had better luck with that than Clomid. It works differently so it may work better for you. Unfortunately, OB's are not experts on fertility and can only offer limited help. Have you tried acupuncture? There are community clinics that offer low-cost services. I hope you get pregnant without needing the extra help after all!

I've known a couple people that were told they didn't ovulate, only to find out a week later or so that they were PG. I think blood tests are not foolproof, or lab tech error are issues.

Thanks for the tips pokeyAC. IF we do end up needing to do furthur fertility assistance (such as trigger shots, etc) I will definately look into a community clinic. We are on an individual health insurance plan (DH is self employed) and it sucks. The copay is high and it doesn't cover much and so we end up having to pay way more than someone on a company wide insurance plan like we used to be before I quit working and he became self employed. Ugh

Ahvati, I really HOPE this is the case here with me. I'm on CD 23 today so I don't have much longer to wait. My cycles have been stead at 28 days so....just a few more to wait. Boy...that 2WW is a killer huh?! LOL. Wish me luck! We are fingersx.gif for a pos.gif and I will update on this thread what happens.

I got my day 21 results last Thur and my dr said it looks like I didn't o. But my chart is textbook beautiful. Do you know what the level was? Mine was only 8.8. But someone on my TTC group was told she did O (by her specialist), and her level was 6 something. I got a BFP Sunday and blood test confirmed on Monday. Good luck!

Yes rosie 2727, I always ask for the actual numbers because it's just good practice to write them down so you know. You never know when a different specialist for instance might want to know or you might want to do research online yourself like I did. :-)

Anyway, my 21 day test result was 7.4 and according the online progesterone chart for pregnant women I found this morning (see attached chart below) I'm in that normal pregnancy progesterone range IF I did in fact conceive this month as I would be 3 weeks and 1 day pregnant as of today, so 7.4 is definitely in the range.

I just don't know why my OB didn't put that (BFP) into her possibilities for me. headscratch.gif Huh. Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait until AF is due in 5 days. Eeek! I HATE waiting. Ugh

I usually ask for numbers too, but at first, when the nurse told me I didn't O, I was in such shock that I forgot to ask! I thought for sure I did based on my chart. So I spent the next day jumping thru hoops to get the info from the lab (dr office was closed). I didn't understand why my dr was so adamant that I didn't O either.

Either way, I'm feeling a bit pessimistic....hcg was only 50. Fixing to get another quant done... Good luck and keep us posted.

And yeah...I'll definitely keep everyone posted what happens. It would not surprise me at all if I did get a pos.gif because my boobs are sensitive, I've been nauseous (thank goodness for Preggie Pop drops! They work on hormone related/Clomid nausea as well as morning sickness) and having lots of mild to medium cramps yesterday and today. It's a bit early for PMS cramps! Last night around 1:19 am I got real bad cramps for a few mins and I was like doubled up in bed moaning and then they went away after a few mins (uterus growing perhaps?) and today I feel real bloated (hormones are a bitch to me when pregnant and I get the WORSE case of bloating that's been had before....every time. I have to switch to maternity clothes by 10 weeks because I'm SO bloated) so.....I won't be shocked if AF does come next week (because of the Doctor's thoughts) but I won't be shocked if PG either. LOL

I was already 9dpo / cd 24 when my dr suggested the test - but she said it was ok I wasn't exactly 7 dpo. I got those results two days later. Not sure why it took so long. So I was 9 dpo/ cd 24. Got BFP on 14dpo / cd 29 (day before AF was due). Had blood test next day. I'm on THE ONE thread here on MDC. I've seen your name before...maybe on TTC after loss? I didn't feel I belonged there...while I've had losses, I felt mine paled in comparison to everyone else's. And I couldn't keep up with two threads at once.

rosie2727 - So you're about 4.5 weeks preggers? Congrats! fingersx.gif and dust.giffor a stickie baby! You'll prob be posting all up in the Pregnant section now so when I get there myself I'll join you. Are you having any early pregnancy symptoms yet? If so, what? Did you suspect you were PG even though your OB thought otherwise "you didn't ovulate this month" statement?

I usually get symptoms around 3 weeks on and always sorta know something is up. I usually get cramping, nausea and bloating and overall tiredness/exhausted feeling. I also have felt like I was coming down with the flu.

I still have 4 days to go on my 2WW. Trying out some Ginger Aid and Lemon Ginger teas for nausea as it tends to pop up here and there from the hormones (Clomid can do it to ya just as bad as morning sickness) and I wish I could take a nap but our 2 year old decided he wasn't tired enough for a nap today so here I am...online. :-D

I've never heard of this happening until the Nurse told me that the Dr had said that. Prob the same way that I didn't know as many women in my life had suffered miscarriages and then when I had my first they all came out of hiding and opened up to me. I'd have never of guessed it till then.

Ahavati - Do you recall how far along they were when they found out? Was it the day they missed their period (4 weeks) or was it further like 5 weeks? I'm just curious if the Dr thinking they did not ovulate has any correlation with them being delayed in getting a + test. ??? Hmm.

I don't really get symptoms. I've never thrown up once during pregnancy (3 kids, 3 miscarriages). And my boobs were only mildly sore with my first. I'm hoping that's why my hcg is on the low side. First draw on Mon was 51 but yesterday's was 193. I do get pretty bloated. So no, I didn't think I was at all. And we only DTD once during my fertile window! That makes three times in a row that I got pregnant from DTD on day 14.

I took clomid my first time. I was charting and it looked like I was ovulating, but we'd been trying for awhile so my dr gave it to me just to see. I don't think I needed it tho. I don't recall any side effects. But I have a friend that says it made her crazy! I guess I was mildly nauseous with first one too, but that didn't start til 7 weeks and, again, never puked. This time during my TWW I had some weird pinches and that let down feeling, but I figured I was symptom spotting.

I get more betas fri and agin on tues. Can't wait to see what those bring. I'm just so nervous since I've had two mc's in a row (one chem and one ectopic). Hopefully this one is sticky!!

Oh, and I remembered where I saw your name....awhile back I posted on a thread where you asked about fertility jewelry! It was months ago!! Maybe even last summer!

She was on cycle day 17 and had BW done. HCG negative and progesterone 2.3. So her Dr said no chance of ovulation. Positive PG test 9 days later. On CD 17 when they did the U/S, Dr saw what looked like a sac, but hcg was negative. It was a head scratcher for sure.

So she did the home pregnancy test on CD 26 and got a pos.gif ? That's awesome. I WISH I could get a positive that early. Mine never get a faint line until CD 29 or 30. I guess my body doesn't have a high enough HcG level until then. Every time (including this morning) I've taken a PG test (First Response 2 line test) in hopes that "maybe THIS time" it'll have a faint line but.....alas, it was neg.gif so now I have to wait 2 more days, till Monday and see if AF starts on CD 28 as usual and if not I'll do a Clear Blue Easy digital the next morning. My fingersx.gif as I'm still having cramping, breast sensitive/soreness/fullness, occasional nausea and my cheeks are pink like when pregnant, however that could just be due from the hormones of Clomid/PMS. Who knows.

I will update beginning of next week to let you all know what happens. Even if it's a negative, I very much appreciate the positive stores and experiences that were shared because they gave me a glimmer of hope that maybe I could be pregnant after all when my OB said "not ovulated this month" which really helped me (emotional wise) with the rest of my 2WW. So...THANK YOU!

Well.....my AF is starting today so...no BFP for me this cycle. I guess the OB was correct that I indeed did not ovulate.

That being said, I've made a decision to take a month or so off. Not of TTC but of actively focusing all my energy (mentally, emotionally and focus on it) by NOT charting, NOT doing OPK's this cycle and NOT taking Clomid. We won't be using BC but...we won't be "trying" either. If it happens.....it happens. I NEED A BREAK. I'm not even going to think about it from this day on until I feel ready again. This is our 6th month off BCP's and I just need a mental vacation from all of it. Need a distraction and to focus on other things.

I still have 2 refills on Clomid left so I can start again whenever I want but I need to focus on the gym, losing a few lbs and I think that'll do the trick because I always have an easier time getting pregnant when I'm down to a certain weight.
