Ok well I guess that's all I need to know! Sorry if this is TMI, but last night at about 1030pm I got an ALMOST + OPK, then we BD at 1:30am last night. This morning I got the +OPK at 9:00am this morning. Then today at 5:30 pm I got another almost positive OPK, but it was definitely not totally positive. How does this timing sound?

As far as I know sperm is not an issue, but both of us are on medicine that can make sex challenging so I try not to put too much pressure on us to do it every day. Are there any stats?

Me + DH + Daniel (7/5/10)
Testing early and often since February 2014.

I think I have some kind of virus. I've been so fatigued the last couple of days and sleeping a lot. In a way, I am glad this didn't happen next week, because it's too early for this to be pregnancy-related. If this was happening next week, I'd be driving myself crazy that it could be early symptoms.

AF started for me early this am. I'm kind of relieved that it started so unmistakably and not too late. Last time I had pinkish spotting early and thought it might be implantation, since I'd never spotted early before. Glad it started red this time. I didn't want to take ibuprofen just in case but no worries now. So that puts me in Waiting to O please.

Firefly, I know what you mean. So hard not to symptom spot when unrelated illnesses happen during the last part of a TWW.

Met with my regular internal medicine doctor. He did a CBC, tsh, and full chemistry panel. Might not tell me much but better than nothing. He thinks based on my irregular cycles that I am anovulatory and doesn't really know anything about temping. Also said to wait until it's been a year. So probably won't get much from this but at least I can rule out anything major. I feel pretty discouraged right now. Luckily my life is very hectic so it's keeping me busy.

Hi there!  Can I be added to What Is Going On?

I m/c'd earlier this month (1st ttc at 40 yo) and though I have my 'inside ears' wide open, it's hard to know what the heck my body is doing!  I can only trust that she knew what she was doing earlier this month and knows her business now!  :)

Has your Dr mentioned the possibility of PCOS. My sister and her BF are TTCing and she has not been ovulating for the last 4 months based on OPK's. She had been using them for a few months before that and was ovulating. When she went in to see her Dr and they discussed what was going on fertility wise as well as other seemingly non related symptoms her dr told her that it is possible she has PCOS and is is doing a full blood work up as well as ultrasounds. She won't have the results for a few more weeks I think. Her dr also told her that it was good she was dealing with this as soon as she suspected a problem because if it is PCOS and she refers her to the fertility clinic in town to see and RE they will get her in quicker because of her age (34) as well as the fact that she has already had all her testing so she would not be loosing a month or more doing the testing with an RE.

I don't think that's it's to be honest. Based on charting and opks I have been ovulating and I got pregnant end of February as well so I had to have ovulated. I am not closed to the idea yet but I don't have a doctor willing to look further into it yet. I did have a pelvic ultrasound in 2009 that was completely healthy as well as all of my regular physicals being healthy. Maybe I'm just in denial?

Alive, seems like a good start. Maybe the blood work will be helpful. These docs don't understand how long a year is for us.

Baby shower in the office today for 3 of my co-workers. 3!! Ya'll need to come drink the water here, I guess. Bittersweet events, aren't they? I hope we all get our turn.

My sister was ovulating for months as well until she wasn't. My knowledge of PCOS is super basic but from what I understand certain things like a little weight gain can make it flare up and affect ovulation. Apparently another symptom is a slightly elevated cholesterol and blood pressure which my sister has also stress can also contribute to the flare up of PCOS. My sisters dr was optimistic that even if she does have PCOS getting pregnant is not out of the question but it is a bit challenging. You know you body best so if you feel that there might be a problem chances are there is. My sister knew that there had to be a deeper issue and that's one of the reason's she switched to this new dr because her old one told her that she had to be TTCing a year before she would run any tests. The new dr told her that it was a good thing she came to her so that she is not wasting a year TTCing when she is clearly not ovulating.

At the very least I can rule out some things. smile.gif a year is an eternity especially when I have proof my cycles suck. My hope is that my birth control just needed to get out of my system and that I will see some healthy cycles soon. Baby showers are definitely
bitter sweet.. As are the constant pregnancy announcements that fill up my newsfeed. Fair doesn't seem to exist.

Anna, I did gain 15 lbs due to medication over the last year but I am still only 110 lbs. my blood pressure is 104 over 60 and I will get the rest of my levels soon. I don't fit any symptoms for pcos besides the irregular periods so it's tough. I think I will wait for the results and then give my body a couple more cycles before I look for another obgyn. I am also going to revamp my diet and really start cutting out all the crap I'm eating.

Glad the results came back normal @Alivewithyou. But sad that means you still don't have definitive answers :(. Maybe look for a new Doc who will let you do more testing before one year is up? Ugh, that's would I would to at least.... That is a long time :(

@Firefly77  babyshowers are hard for me too :(. There have been a few times where I just couldn't even get myself to attend. So sorry you are fighting a virus. I hope you feel better quickly.

@deserae  sorry about AF :/

so sorry for the MC @lilybean t :( best of luck to you this month & I hope you find some answers.

Baby Showers are kinda rough! I have a bunch of lovely friends and family that have already had their babies and they started trying after my husband and me. I can be happy for them though. What challenges me are the couple of people I'm related to who conceived cheating on their spouse or who smoke and do drugs. Those are the baby shower invitations that strain my abilities to congratulate. *sigh* This will pass. We're bound to get a BFP before too long, right? I still smile when I see pregnant ladies about and I hope there are more "graduates" in here before too long. Gotta keep our chins up.

I truly believe you are right about your body normalizing after bc. And getting pregnant once during that time...I think you'll be pregnant in no time. I really don't think anything's wrong. Have some faith girl!

I have another kind of gross TMI question about CM. Ready?

Obviously around O time I try to h ave a lot of sex... which results in a lot of semen... but it's all intermingled with EWCM. It seems I've ovulated today and I can't seem to tell what is CM and what is just left over semen from last night. How do you tell the difference?

I'm really sorry if that's super gross to think about....

@Alivewithyou I would be a little miffed at an OBGYN who knew nothing about charting. That's like one of the most basic methods of charting fertility. Have you thought about a 2nd opinion?

My doctor today wasn't my OBGYN. I can't stand my OBGYN hence why I went to my regular general doctor. If and when I look at pursuing further testing (hopefully we won't need to) I already have a list of doctors I would like to try. :)

As far as semen vs EWCM.. the only trick I've heard is that EWCM shouldn't absorb (if that's even the right word) into toilet paper whereas semen does. My follow up question is: can semen serve as EWCM? If it's up there already wouldn't it have the same purpose? HA HA.

I've read you can tell by the stretchiness. EWCM should be able to stretch between your fingers without breaking apart (for at least an inch or 2) but semen won't do that.

I'm driving myself crazy and am looking for words of wisdom & experience.  I miscarried two weeks ago today and have been on a physical roller coaster for the last week and a half.  I hate to ask anyone to go back to a really rough time, but for those of you that have MCd, what was it like for you the month-ish after?  How soon was it before you got back to O and/or AF?

Aside from working through the emotional aftermath, my body is a confusing place to be right now.   I have always had very regular 28 day cycles, and this MC has me all out of whack.  TMI warning!  My libido generally goes crazy when I ovulate and that was the case 4 days after I MCd (lawd that was a messy place to be) - and still is, really.  But I've also had a bit of cramping and for the past 4 or 5 days, nausea throughout the day.  I haven't been checking my CF - I wish I had, but I was tending to my emotional self.   I know there's nothing in particular that I can *do*, I just wish I knew what was going on.  I actually took a HPT (and felt crazy doing so) last night which was BFN.

If this has been discussed already, let me know - I looked back over several pages and didn't see anything along these lines but don't want to repeat a conversation.

Anyway, I have 3 small fibroids right now, so my gyn referred me back to my specialist. This scared me to death because I thought I might need another surgery (this gyn is new to me and gave me next to no info about my US results). Anyway, my former surgeon and specialist (whom I adore) gave us the go ahead. We have 6 months before we need to go back to the specialist, so I'm trying to stay relaxed and not feel too pressured by time.

I'm sorry you have gone through all that.  I'm glad you have the go-ahead to try.  Good luck!!

Hi, staceeyore01!  Welcome.  That is strange and I hope you can figure out what is going on.  Something like that would probably prompt me the doctor, but on the other hand, I also tend to take the wait and see approach a lot.  What do you think you will do?

Oh well. I've resigned myself to knowing that this month's chart is a bunch of crap. And either way, it's not like the chart is gonna determine whether or not it worked!

Still no word on the job either. Getting really ticked. Considering looking outside the company. It just pisses me off cause I know I'm qualified for several open positions we have. But HR can't get answers from ppl, so that's got me stalled out. If I go to another company, I bet I could have a new job in a few weeks. I really don't want to leave here, but I'm "this close" to doing it.

Yeah, the chart doesn't decide if it works, but I get it.  It's just nice to see this tangible chart confirming what you are pretty sure about.

Have you heard anything yet?  I think I'd start looking outside too.  I'm sorry!

Exciting about moving forward, tinytina!  No word about the job yet?

I hope she's not in charge of helping people become pregnant!! I'm seriously embarrassed for CNN and this dr....

I read that too and I thought the same thing!

SeattleRain, welcome!

I m/c'd earlier this month (1st ttc at 40 yo) and though I have my 'inside ears' wide open, it's hard to know what the heck my body is doing!  I can only trust that she knew what she was doing earlier this month and knows her business now!  :)

Welcome, lilybean.  I'm sorry about your m/c.   I had three m/c in the past year -- After the first one, the subsequent cycle was anovulatory but regular length.  After the other two, the subsequent cycles were pretty normal but O was delayed by 4 or 5 days and regular-ish LP length.

Normal is good.  I'm hopeful for you.

scjp, nice to hear from you!  Because you have long cycles and you get such strong symptoms, it sounds like something is off-- maybe hormones?  That's great about starting school!  Sounds grueling to get there though!!
