Someone in another thread figured out that it was the word s-t-i-l-l. Usually it shows as ****l. I think the first 4 letters are being mistaken for a 4-letter word by the censor. Although I have seen it occur in other instances as well.

Hello everyone,

We had a bit of a rough day yesterday, we found out they would like to do a test-TESA on my husband ( Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA)
TESA is a technique that employs fine needle to aspirate sperm directly from the epididymis or the testis by a fertility specialised urologist.

For this procedure, an intravenous conscious sedation is conducted. A fine needle attached to a syringe is then inserted into the epididymis or the testis. Suction is then applied to the syringe and the fluid that is aspirated is given to the andrologist for examination. If an adequate number of sperm has been found, the surgery is concluded; otherwise, it may take multiple aspirations in different regions of the testis to obtain sperm.

This test is expensive $1500 and than we would need to do TESA again during IVF. We spent a lot of time yesterday crying about it, talking about it, and we seem more resolved that we want to have a baby and that is the most important thing right now. We are even willing to put off buying a house for awhile if we can have a baby now instead.

We used a distraction technique by doing a lot of cleaning, re-organizing, and decluttering the bedroom closet, bathroom closet, entryway hall closet.

Your welcome @jenjy and @alittlemischief. I am trying to do a good job being the thread leader.

Hugs @Anna1979. I hate freezing cold feet

So many topics surrounding sex and sexuality are ****l considered taboo- its really sad to know we refuse to be open with each other.

Sorry to hear about your UTI @Alivewithyou. Feel better soon

Hope you feel better too @rosie2727

Sorry I cannot help @Melinda1980

Great suggestions for getting rid of UTI's @apeydef

Try not to stress too much @SeattleRain

Enjoy your long weekend and I hope you get your cycle figured out @staceeyore01

Hope things get straightened out @scjp1109

Weird censoring.

I'm sorry you had a rough day. It is unfortunate that they keep wanting to do expensive test runs. Is there any way that they can just wait until they are ready to do the IVF and try it then? That way they can use the sperm that they extract? Or do they need to run tests on the sperm? Or is this necessary to avoid a costly IVF in the case that the procedure fails?

I have been under conscious sedation before and it was not bad. Good luck to you both.

I usually pee after sex too, but last weekend we DTD 3 times in roughly 24 hours and I know I forgot to after at least one time....my dr even gave me antibiotics to take after sex just bc of this. I obviously forgot to use them....

Alive I hope it goes away soon..

I have a question...my cycles have been 32 days long lately, any idea how this will effect when I can reliably test? Pretty sure I ovulated on CD 15 and today is DC 22 and 8 DPO. Do I ****l have to wait till 6 days before AF to test, even tho that'll be CD 27 and 12 DPO? Sorry if this is a silly question. I think most of the guidelines I'm reading are for a 28 day cycle so I'm trying to figure out how it would apply to me.
If it were me, I'd wait til at least 4 days prior to AF being due. But that's just me...are you certain of O day? If so, you deserve an award for longest LP!!

idk, but I've heard lots of women say they had a lot of cramping during the TWW and they got BFP...try not to stress!

How you ladies doing otherwise? anyone due for testing now and hopefully some great news?
I was like that when I first started temping. It will get easier and less stressful. I'm due to test soon. I'm 11dpo. Trying to wait til tomorrow...

anna: cd9 and AF is due this wkend? Are your cycles always this short? And you said you wondered how P will affect cycle? Is it prescription progesterone? It may delay AF a day or two, but it did nothing to my cycle last month. Jenjy is using it too, and I don't think it delayed her cycle either.

tinytina: what an ordeal! Is DH nervous about this procedure? At least he'll be under. That sounds awful! But at least it will provide some answers. What kind of info are they hoping to glean from this test? Either way, the money will be totally worth it. I think of it like this: ppl spend $30,000-40,000 on vehicles pretty regularly, say every 7 years or so. If it's worth spending that kind of money on something material, then by all means, spend that and more on something so special as a child.

AFM: I'm 11dpo today. Getting nervous. I don't think it worked this month. I don't feel any different at all. Last time I got pregnant I was at least having weird sensations in my breasts by now. The only thing going on is I've been ravenous, but all I want is junk! Can someone say "birthday cake"? And it's totally normal for me to crave sweets when I'm going thru PMS. Sooooo, I think AF is right around the corner. Due Sunday....

All this PAS (peeing after sex) has got me wondering- I never do it, but I have very infrequent uti's. I usually put it down to letting myself get dehydrated. Perhaps as a preventative I'll start PAS. Do you do the 'bum up legs in the air' business for 20mins then pee? Or do you pee then come back to the bed? Just wondering if PAS may flush out some swimmers... I usually just end up falling asleep and get to the bathroom in the am.

I try to have legs in air for 20 mins, then go pee. I keep hearing that legs in air is unnecessary, but I can't help but imagine it's GOT to help!

My dr did tell me that PAS flushes out anything that could have been squished up into the urethra during sex. If it doesn't flush out, it can work it's way up into the bladder and cause a UTI. This is why I normally pee right afterward. But during fertile window, I try to wait...

Rosie my TWW is more like two and a half weeks and it's killing me lol! I don't temp, but I'm feeling pretty sure about the timing. EWCM on CD 14, slight cramping on CD 15, nothing on day 16 then thick, white CM on day 17.

I haven't been doing the legs in the air this time, but it did with my son and I got pg the first cycle I even tried. Actually, I put a pillow under my tailbone and laid there for about 20 minutes each time.

If I don't get pg this month (which I don't think I will, I'm just not feeling it) then I'll definitely do it next month. I know it's not a proven thing but it just makes sense!

@SeattleRain Same thing happened to me. I'm on 5DPO too. I also had ovulation type cramps, back cramps and pulling sensation on my left side the day after I got the +OPK, as well as yesterday and today. I'm trying not to obsess because it just seems tht now tht I'm TTC I'm noticing EVERY little things. Things tht I prob wouldn't hav even given a second thought any other time. I'm trying so hard to hold out until 10DPO to POAS. I'll be fortunate if I make it to 8, LOL!

I eel confident that I ovulated and the timing was good, but all this cramping is weird. It's so localized in one area. My last pregnancy I got a BFP at 9DPO. That means I must have implanted pretty early. I wonder if that's different every pregnancy... All I know is that Saturday is 9dpo and that's my first test day. I LURVE peeing on sticks!

Me + DH + Daniel (7/5/10)
Testing early and often since February 2014.

@tinytinaim so sorry you have to go through this. It's amazing how complicated, yet simple, the act of conceiving is. You have young kids, women on drugs, etc, who get pregnant w/o even TRYING! Then you have others who have to jump through so many hoops to achieve the joy of parenthood. But oh, it's SOOOOO worth it! I pray that all goes well and you achieve your BFP SOON!!!!! smile.gif

Hello group! I know its silly to join this thread one day shy of the new one starting, I was here from October 2013 until the New Year, but I started to get very disheartened as I charted temps and and am not getting clear ovulation temps. Very rocky mountains type charts. So I stepped away from the group so that I wouldn't spread my low mood around. I also stepped away from charting as it was making me nervous getting up so early to temp just to have extreme spikes and valleys.

We are still at the TTC thing though and just shy of going in for some medical advice on it (I'm 35 and he's 40 so that  "6 mos of trying" rule of thumb) This is our 7th cycle since TTC but I'm feeling a bit renewed, probably since the weather is warm and the sun is perking me up. Today DP said he "had a feeling" the last time we BD. That's a pretty funny prognostication coming from him. He's a tech guy, very rational kind of person and not prone to emotional tomfoolery and nonsense . He said this on his way out to work this morning, so you can imagine my racing thoughts all day...

So I wanted to stop by and see you all and see if I recognized any names. I was so happy to see some who spent a very long time here get BFPs like @NaturallyMo I was so happy to see her on this month's list!! Looking forward to reading back through the thread to catch up. And, I'm sorry to see some of you still here who were with me in the fall. I mean familiarity is nice, but I'd sure like to see us all graduate. Anyway, that is all for now, just catching up. I am currently Waiting to O. (I guess)

Slightly embarrassing question... Am I safe to bd while on antibiotics for my uti or should I hold off? I really don't want to miss a whole cycle over this crap. I still haven't even confirmed the uti (my test got sent off for a culture) but I definitely feel "off" still. Anyway thoughts? Experiences?
