Yesterday on cycle day 10 I had a positive ovulation strip.  Hoping to have a boy, we dtd right away.  Today I had a negative ovulation strip but also had some cervical mucous signs (loose gelatinous cm).  My phone app tells me that I won't ovulate for another 4 days (cycle day 15).  Should we just sit tight and hope it's all happening right?  Or should we try again tonight?  I'm worried to keep trying as my fertile week goes on because I think that will increase the chances of a girl so I *think* we should stop trying now to avoid a girl sperm to blow past a boy sperm but I'll admit, I don't totally know the logistics.  I'm not particularly concerned about fertility in general.  Historically, I have been pretty fertile and got pregnant on the first try with my other kids.  We need to time this right because, unfortunately, I get hyperemesis gravidarum and I need to have the bulk of the sickness happen over the summer when I don't have to drive kids to school.  So if we just wait and see and it does NOT work out and we have to try again next month, this puts my "sick time" into the school year and I am terrified about how that will work.  So I'm really hoping it happens this month...

I've never used opk but my understanding is that you actually ovulate 12-36 hours after you get the positive. Maybe you could try temping and as soon as you see that thermal shift you have at least 12 hours to catch the egg, so just DTD that morning...?

Ah yes, temping - the missing link.  I have done temps in the past and just recently tried taking temps again and I am always ALL over the place.  So I gave up because with such inconsistency it wasn't telling me anything.  I probably have some hormonal issue or something.  In fact, I am almost certain that I am low in progesterone.  I ovulate early (short luteal phase I guess?) and I have other symptoms.  But the temps vary a whole degree or more up and down sometimes even when I'm not ovulating.

Well dang! That stinks! There's a website, I believe its called ingender.com it might be in-gender.com. anyway they tell you how to sway things in the favor of the gender you want. They claim the sex timing in relation to ovulation has been debunked. So they use diet, douche with certain things to change your vaginal ph, and I think for a boy your allowed to orgasm, but for a girl you should avoid it. HTH

Thank you, I'll check out the link.  I suppose it's way too late for diet changes.  But I did use baking soda and pre-seed like I've seen suggested and had the big O so here's hoping...
