I have a question about testing. So I've just recently learned how to take tests apart. I've heard that FRER has a high incidence of indents or evaps especially if taken apart. (I've never seen either though.) So I in no way feel this could be pos, (this only showed after drying) but what would you call it? Evap? Indent?

Me , 38 years old; DH , 39 years old
DD - 11 , DD - 9 (both from previous marriage), and me and DH have DS - 4 .

I definitely see the second line. What's the purpose of taking it apart? Looks too pink to be an evap. Is it possible it's a positive? Looks like it to me. If taking it apart would cause a second line, do you have another test you could take?

rosie2727[/ I think I would call it a positive. It's pink.! Congratulations! I know it's controversial but I 4 ear a scientific article on pg tests and they were very clear that the line will only turn pink if there is HCG present, no matter when it shows. 8 wish 8 had a bit more time, if I can I will search the article and post it later on. But I see pink and pink =HC SO BIG FX FOR YOU!!!

Hello, ladies! I'm finally ready to hop over here from the "Wanting but Waiting" group. I had my IUD (Mirena) removed last week & was immediately visited by AF. So, now I'm just going to jump right in with charting & Waiting to O. I think I'm CD6, but it's hard to say, since my cycle is a bit out of whack still. We have never had trouble conceiving so far, but I'm a lot older now than with my others, so we'll see. Send me PINK thoughts, please! We have 2 wonderful boys, and would really love a girl, though we're just expecting to have a house full of boys. :-)

Wife to since '98; Homeschooling, working on my doctorate & becoming crunchier by the day; Mom to DSs: 06/10,12/05, & 1/99 & 1 on the way (3/15)

Welcome @Yaliina. I hope you get that BFP baby girl you are wishing for.

Welcome also to the other new posters! I guess this thread got a bit busy while I was away.

I practically have to force-feed him veggies. Agh, so much to think about!

I know what you mean. My husband just isn't into preconception nutrition, no matter how many articles I quote at him. We don't have junk at home, but I'm afraid to ask what he eats at work sometimes.

@staceeyore01, Congrats! Glad there are some BFPs before May is up.

@ayme371Yours looks positive to me too! I understand your hesitation to celebrate, but I hope it sticks! Keep us posted.

I know I'm not even pregnant...did I mention I'm a planner?

My 14 y.o. son was born at home. It was a long (26 hour labor) but I might do a homebirth again, but only if I find just the right midwife! The one who delivered my son is not an option (2 states away). I'm not against a birth center if I feel like it is close enough with traffic, but I don't think I could relax in a conventional hospital setting. They remind me too much of visiting relatives for illness and injury. I do plan to have a hospital planned out just in case, though.

I know it sounds lame, shallow, and not ambitious, but honestly, I feel like it would be a good way to give back to the community (doing free haircuts at events-like back to school stuff for low income kids etc), and it would allow me to be creative and work kind of my own schedule. Anyways, as much as I want to do this I feel so conflicted because of TTC. I can't just wait around forever for a baby to fall into our laps, but I can't stop trying for it to happen either. So right now I'm pursuing both school and TTC with as much energy as I can and leaving it in God's hands (sorry if that offends anyone). I feel like I'm finally in a good place mentally, like I'm actually making traction in life.

I can completely relate.  It is so hard waiting for things to happen in your life that will affect everything else. We have had that with a potential overseas move, as well as trying to conceive for well over a year.

I completely agree! @tinytina, Thanks for all you do keeping the thread going. You have a great personal touch!

AFM, I am CD 10 and waiting to O still. The OPKs have been getting closer and closer but not positive yet. This is an improvement since the last couple of cycles have been a quick surge (we missed O last cycle) and a slightly early O. This cycle is looking like I should O at around day 12, which I think is most normal for me.  I am also planning to stay relaxed about it.  We made up our mind to start IUI and this is the last cycle before we begin that process so if we get a BFP this time it will just be an awesome bonus.

@tinytina: thinking of you tonight and hoping all goes well.

Wishing everyone baby dust in their tww. I am struggling to keep up due to not having internet. It's a pain to do everything on my phone but I am following along as I can.

All my hormone testing came back completely normal. Just finished my last dose of femara. Since I got out of the hospital I have lost 16 lbs (in two weeks). I am literally 6 lbs away from what I weighed in middle school and high school. I feel like I am gearing up to ovulate (cd12) so hopefully I am. I will be doing more blood work to check my progesterone levels after I ovulate and I have to schedule a hsg next cycle which I am terrified of. Hoping I just get pregnant this cycle so I can avoid that trauma lol. Either way I have hope now that I finally am working with a fertility specialist. I am starting to spiritually sense a baby around me again and I keep dreaming of pregnancy. I can't wait to be a mom and I will do whatever it takes to get there.

Sorry sent early, I'm really getting tired of using the phone to post.
Anyway, I may be living in my own world but I never heard of it before tonight. I was doing g some random Internet looking and stumbled several different methods to make your own using regular household products (bleach, vinegar, toothpaste dandelions). The bleach h seemed to be the most popular and there are tons of u tube videos demonstrating how to do them. Some swear by them and others do it more for fun.

I had to try one so i did the bleach test. Basically you add about two caps of bleach to urine and if it foams (alot, almost spilling over the top of the cup) then it is supposedly an indication of pregnancy. do outside or in a well ventilated area, fumes are bad

Definitely not scientific (except for the ammonia, in all urine, reacts to the bleach). Mine did bubble quite furiously, glad I put the cup in the sink, almost made a mess. I had to try it on someone else, so my mom was the lucky guinea pig. Hers made a few surface bubbles but not much else.
Just wondering if anyone else had heard of or tried any of these. Not something to rely on (don't think you could make your first prenatal appt based on it, lol, imagine how that phone call would go over at the Dr office?) But definitely amusing and maybe save some money when you have the urge to test but know it's too early. Be wary...i have no idea if there is ANY validity to any of the tests, but a few videos showed men try it and they are prego if you were to rely on the test. Made for a good laugh though.

Anybody have any experience with any of these homemade tests? Or try them? There is even a gender predictor that uses baking soda.

Wow...it's late and I'm a chaperone for DS'S class tomorrow. I need some serious sleep. Good night all... happy baby dreams

That was 12 dpo. Even if it's not an evap, a FRER should detect more than that at 12dpo. So, I'm calling it a fluke. I did take a first signal today and there is maybe a faint shadow. Either way, if I'm pregnant, it'll be another chemical. No way could I be 13dpo today and only see a shadow...I may even be imagining the shadow. Here's a pic of it that I tweaked to try to show the hint I'm seeing:

I mean, you never know, right? At 12DPO you could have just implanted at 9-10DPO. I got a BFP with my son at 9DPO but it was still pretty squinty until 14DPO. Obviously you know it doubles every two days, so you never know, 14 DPO it could be darker.

I guess what I'm trying to say is... it's there. Celebrate it, especially since you were having such a hard time convincing your DH to keep trying. Sometimes the universe steps in and gives you just what you need...

AFM, I'm feeling good about my chart....

You are too funny...lol know what you mean though. I did take one and I'll post a pic tomorrow. I see what I think is a faint pink line. But like rosie I would think it would be bright by now. I'm 13 dpo and af is due tomorrow. I'm forcing myself to wait till tomorrow am to take the last frer and I will post pics in the am.

Hey rosie I'm certain 13 also. I keep thinking I see colored lines but would think they would be more obvious by now. When is af due rosie? I'm due Friday, and my weird symptoms are not making it any easier to relax. I'm just so crampy and lower back has hurt for almost A week. This doesn't usually happen till the day or day before af is due. Bbs are just starting to get sore and they are usually tender much sooner. I have no idea what to think. I want to be excited but scared as hell! I want a neon, unquestionable positive...not trying to ask too much, just stay sane. Anyone have any ideas about the odd symptoms or experience with feeling the same?

Awesome on the normal testing numbers alive FX

If the changes to this site weren't so bad, I'd be able to post my 13DPO FRER to show you that it wasn't much darker than yours. I'll try to get it on here somehow...

Hi everyone,
I couldn't log in yesterday due to updates
Not liking changes here. Not sure I can edit our first post anymore. Won't let me tag people either.

Hi bren94- when are you finished work?

Hi luckiest, sorry to hear about your struggles and loss.

Hi SeattleRain and jenjy and dmariev

rosie2727- looks positive to me too

Alivewithyou- glad to see your positivity dear. Glad your tests came back normal.

Hi ayme371, hope your tests

Hello and welcome Yaliina, hope your cycle normalizes quickly

Hope you O soon, deserae

Thank you for your positive vibes everyone. I wish I could post this morning with a positive message but I don't have one to share.

So now for our update: I am scared to even write this out. If I write it out than it becomes real. Me and my husband have spent a lot of time talking about it in the last day. He is being amazing- strong, because he had given this possibility a lot of thought in the last couple weeks, whereas, I had not. They did the test 6 times yesterday and there was nothing. Even after spinning the samples, they found 3 abnormal sperm and 150 dead. There was nothing to freeze and nothing to use for IVF. So we are left with one real option now, donor sperm. I am mad, angry at the man who caused my husband's accident and that he took everything from us. I am mad that my husband will never have biological children even though I know he will be an amazing dad and genetics are not everything. I know the truth (in my mind) that it isn't important but my heart is hurting. I never thought we would be dealing with this on top of everything else. I really thought this wouldn't be an issue. I knew it was possible but who thinks it will happen to them? So next Thursday we are going back to the clinic to figure out our plan with donor sperm. Not sure when we will get to start, probably the cycle in July now.

Whoever had the idea to implement these changes is on crack. This is the biggest FAIL! I can't upload pics. Can't find my subscriptions. It's telling me I have 6 private messages when I have none. This is redonkulous.

So, I had blood test done and it was negative (4.4). Took a different brand today and faint BFP again. I'd share the pic but I have no clue how.

I'd love to get all excited, but I'm certain it's yet another chemical. AF due Sunday....4 losses in a row. Maybe I should throw in the towel. DH is on board again. I haven't even told him about this.

I actually thought what you posted about the homemade test was very interesting. Excited to see the FRER this morning!

@tinytina , I am devastated for you. I thought it was going to go so differently yesterday. Your husband being cheated out of a biological child is hugely unfair. I'm sitting here with tears and at the same time choked up with anger at the same time uplifted by how strong and supportive it sounds like your husband is being through it all. I'm so sorry. I wish you peace with everything as you go forward.

@chilee , being at 30 when 27 is normal -- I don't know how you haven't tested yet. If you don't want to use your digital, can you go get a different test?

PS I am trying to tag with this "mention" thing but I don't think it worked. The new site definitely hasn't grown on me yet.

@rosie2727 Cross-posted. OK, on the regular site I can still see the mountain icon to post a pic but I don't see the option on the mobile site. If you click the "desktop" version at the bottom of the screen on your phone, it looks like it will switch to the version where you will have the tiny mountain icon. Does that help?? I hope so... I want to see the newest pic!! I had the same problem with old pms being marked as unread. I had to go in to the message list and select them and then down at the bottom was a drop down menu to mark them as read. But whoa, your DH is back on board??? That is wonderful!!

Good God! Did I mention how badly they failed on this update?

Ok, here's today's pic.

First, gotta say:
Tina: I'm so sorry. This is not the news you had hoped for. But it's not the end of the dream!

chilee: what are you waiting for?? Fx for you!

Ok, here's my sad faint Walmart brand comparable to FRER test using FMU.
And I cannot upload from my phone! Even on desktop! Grrrrr!! This is so annoying!

Me , 38 years old; DH , 39 years old
DD - 11 , DD - 9 (both from previous marriage), and me and DH have DS - 4 .
