I wanted to bring over this post by @Alivewithyou since you asked this question late last night and no one had answered you yet.

Slightly embarrassing question... Am I safe to bd while on antibiotics for my uti or should I hold off? I really don't want to miss a whole cycle over this crap. I still haven't even confirmed the uti (my test got sent off for a culture) but I definitely feel "off" still. Anyway thoughts? Experiences?

Hello and welcome to the month of May everyone.

I appreciate all the support I received here yesterday.

@NSmomtobe - I think they run tests on the sperm and this would prevent us from going through IVF and finding out my husband has no sperm or it is not usable.

I think it was the shock of it more than anything. It is also playing on my husband emotionally- questioning even more so his manhood. @rosie2727- I think he is nervous about the results more than the actual procedure. Thanks for helping put it into perspective for me. I am having a hard time with spending the money just because I have spent the last 3 years trying to get our finances under control. Can we afford to get pregnant? Can we afford a baby too?

Thanks @Anna1979

Due to his paralysis he won't need to be sedated for the procedure.

We called yesterday but the clinic hasn't called us back yet.

Sorry to hear you don't feel like it worked this month @rosie2727

Sorry to hear that the TWW is killing you @Melinda1980

Try not to sweat it @franluvsbubba. Thanks for the support. I do have feelings of jealousy over other people getting pregnant so easily.

Glad you feel confident on the timing @SeattleRain

Hello and welcome @saharaviolet. Don't worry about negativity- this is a place to freely share your thoughts and feelings. I am having a hard time with the rational, logical mind and my emotional heart. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hello everyone else I forgot to mention. Sorry!

Rosie, I requested an antibiotic that was safe for pregnancy. I think I will at least give it a few days to clear up. We are coming up on my fertile window (hopefully!) and I don't want to miss it.

I'm sorry about the bfn. It sucks trying so hard and getting let down month after month. I really do feel like you will get pregnant again though.

Please move me to WAITING TO O

AF showed her face this morning and we're on to another cycle. I'm really struggling with this since I will now be away from DH from CD9-CD16 and we miss our fertile window. We'll BD on CD8 but I'm not holding out much hope for that working.

@tinytina thank you for setting up. Just wondering what the asterisks are for after some usernames? Never noticed them before.

@rosie2727 sorry about the bfn. I know how much they feel like a punch in the gut. Please don't lose hope though- you WILL have your baby.

I'm still here. Still waiting to O at cycle day 8. I'm not temping but I think I tend to O on day 12 most often. Just waiting for the right time to get busy. Going to try not to symptom spot this TTW. Yeah, right. Geeze. :-O

@tinytina Thanks so much for starting the new thread!

@rosie2727 So sorry about the BFN, it must be very frustrating. Much love to you!

@Alivewithyou I think as long as the RX is safe and you feel up to it, then you're good to go. Id continue as usual.

@Anna1979 So sorry about AF! Also, is that your tattoo in your pic? Its super cool!

@deserae I hope you can avoid the symptom spotitng...Im having a hard time doing that too!

As for me....I dont know what to think. Im 9DPO today and against my better judgment I took a First Response Early Results this afternoon and got a very faint positive. I called my OB and they did a blood test (rushed results) and they called an hour later and said it was negative, but to call back and do it again in a few weeks. I did some reading online and found some other people who have experienced this but still were pregnant. Then I took a Clear Blue Easy Advanced (digital) test a few hours ago and got a "not pregnant". Is it possible that the HCG is too low for the blood test and the CBE to pick up? But then I think if that was the case, the FR would have picked it up either, right? Im going to take another CBE in the morning with FMU and see what it says. Am I just wishful thinking?

I don't know! I though the blood tests were always accurate. Maybe wait two days and then take one. (If you can hold off wink1.gif)

I know, right?! Then I was reading stuff online and apparently there are two different kinds of blood tests they can do and in one case it only gives a "pregnant" or "not pregnant" result, and the result can be based on a HGC threshold that might be higher than what I had. I didnt know any of this till after I got off the phone, so I didnt ask questions. I dont think it was an evap line, because it looked pink, but again, I could just be wishful thinking.

I bought the three pack so I figure Ill try again tomorrow morning, then Sunday morning then hold off till AF if they're all negative.

@Melinda1980 hoping that you have a positive outcome. It seems so cruel that you had your hopes raised and dashed like that...

Hello and welcome to Friday everyone!

Plans for this weekend?

It's my pleasure to keep this thread going this month- it gives me something to focus on.

I got my grades back from the winter term of my Master's program- A+ and A- (my gpa went up 0.1) Yeah! Super excited. Spring term class started yesterday. This will be class #8 out of 10.

@rosie2727- I am so sorry to hear your frustration and anger dear. I don't blame you at all. Prayers continued.

Glad you got a safe antibiotic @Alivewithyou

So sorry that this month was not successful @Anna1979

@alittlemischief - I put asterisks by some of the names to try to track if people are still posting on this thread or not? The lists get so long sometimes and I don't remember some of the people posting. In the post it says your name will be deleted from the lists if you haven't posted in the last month. Do you know if there is an easier way to track who posts? Can I search to see when they last posted? Thanks for joining us here. Sorry dear!

Hope you O soon @deserae

Sorry to hear about your confusion @Melinda1980. Definitely wait a couple of days before testing again. Try to distract yourself.

melinda: this was one of my experiences: in Oct I got a faint BFP with a first signal (Walmart cheapie). I mean, super faint. So then I used FRER and it was faint pos. so I used my digital and it said pregnant. I went like 2 hours later for a blood test and my hcg was 9. I think a lot of dr offices would call that negative. I've heard a lot have a threshold of 25 to be considered pos. I was 14 dpo and AF showed the next day right on time. So I had a chem. But with you only being 9 dpo, I think you could have a better outcome....try another one. Now! And let us know soon! We're all on the edge of our seats!!

I'm waiting to know . I have been trying to keep myself distracted from the TTC stuff. The first week of the TWW is the hardest. Way too early to test.

I think our chances are pretty low this month. We only bd on O day and 5 days before. Dh wasn't feeling well and also felt like I only wanted to have sex to conceive. We had a good long talk and things are better.

I'll have to read and catch up on everyone.

When hubby thought I was using him just to conceive, he couldn't finish...  So we had to have a long talk and make it fun again.  You just need to make sure he feels wanted, especially when you're ovulating.

rosie- I'm so sorry.  Did the RE have any suggestions if this cycle didn't work?

Anna - I'm so sorry you'll likely miss the fertile window.

Melinda -- yes, totally could be a different threshold thing.  Can't wait to see how your test went this morning!

aw, alittlemischief.  My temp has fallen then gotten "rescued" after implantation, so I'd say don't give up hope yet!  But at the same time, yeah -- falling temps are honestly just never fun to see.  I'm sorry!

Yes, you can search the thread by username.  So when I was threadkeeper last year, at the beginning of the month I looked through the list and if I didn't recognize a name, I searched the previous month for them.  If they weren't there, I put them on "waiting to hear from you" at the bottom of the first post.  Then if they didn't post again that whole next month, they got deleted.  BTW, this was only for the TTC portion -- the BFP list people can just stay on regardless.  [I will edit this post with directions on how to search -- nope, never mind -- I posted it in a separate thread below.]

@tinytina, here you go.

Top of last month's thread... "search this thread"

Advanced search options:

Search by username (select from the list that pops up, like when you do the @ symbol to mention people)

I picked the first person you had with an asterisk.  Click search and...

So, she didn't post in April.  When I was threadkeeping, there was kind of a buffer between leaving them on and deleting them and it was called "Waiting to hear from you".  I don't know why that is gone now.  So your call on how you want to deal with that.

On the other hand, I recognized a name you had asterisked, so I did the same kind of search for her in the April thread so you'd see what that would look like.  Here is a little snippet of that search result:

I hope this helps.  It kind of takes a while, I know.  I don't know of a faster way.  Thank you again for doing such an awesome job with threadkeeping!  :love

@Li5i Sorry sorry about the chemical, but CONGRATS!!!

@Anna1979 super cool! I have a friend who has her entire back done and has actually won awards for it. Well, the artist wont the award, but still really awesome! I have a bunch of smaller ones here and there but have always wanted a larger one.

Okay soooooo I took another CBE with FMU and it said "not pregnant". Then I just took another FRER two minutes ago and there is definitely a faint line. Still faint, but darker than yesterday. Plus, my breasts are really soar today, which never happens to me. I'm scared to be too excited, but I cant imagine both FRERs being wrong, especially since the second one is a bit darker than the first. I'd post a pic but I have no idea how to post pics here.
