Coffee alternative for an afternoon pick me up

Maybe this belongs somewhere else.... but I thought it applies to being healthy while ttc....

I used to drink 14oz of coffee in the morning and sometimes I would drink 16oz in the afternoon. I've cut back to 12oz in the morning and that's it. Sometimes I'm dragging in the afternoon. Any suggestions for a safe pick me up ttc?

Fruit usually does it for me. Or have a ten-minute nap after lunch if you can, that's ideal.

I'll try fruit. I wish I could take a nap. I do take one sometimes when I get home.

Eating protein at least every 3 hours can help you sustain your energy levels throughout the day. That was recommended for me for TTC to help with energy levels and also blood sugar levels. Good luck!

Thanks, @pokeyac . I think that is half my problem, I'm not getting enough protein. I was doing Clif bars and protein shakes there for a while. I need to find different bars and switch them up so I don 't get sick of them. I tried vanilla hemp protein shakes but it's kinda yucky. I did do brown rice protein and while it was a little gritty it was better tasting than the hemp.

A tall glass of OJ with a TBSP of brewer's yeast stirred in will wake me up all of the time.

I take a wellness supplement, that comes with or with out the caffeine ingredient. I started taking it about a month before I got pregnant with my 2nd child while I was still breastfeeding my first. Not sure if my body was just ready for another by then, or if the supplement had something to do with it. DH was a coffee and redbull junkie, but not anymore.
I PMed you more info about it.

@applejuice , I'll give it a try but I would have to water down my oj or use something else. I get indigestion easily since I had my ulcer 5 years ago.

I keep cold cuts on hand for a quick and easy protein snack. My usual is to take a slice of ham and a slice or two of turkey, put the turkey in the ham and fold it up like a little taco. If I'm feeling fancy I put a pickle slice in there too. It's a tasty little snack! Two or three of them makes for a substantial protein hit in just a couple minutes, too.

You could drink a cup of white tea which has a quarter of the amount of caffeine that coffee does, or no coffee and switch to a few cups of green tea throughout the day.

How about a quicky? Not with me of course, but with your partner.
