hello all, I have been lurking this thread for some time now and would definately join if you start a 45+ ttc thread :LOL There are lots of us out here!!! I have an e-mail list and also go to another board where there are a growing number of over 50's too--my biggest question is, how many over 45 are actually ttc naturally, without medical "help"---I was doing fine with Chinese herbals & lunar charting, ovulating, regular cycles and then got a little carried away with enthusiasm and did clomid (50 mg.- cd 3- cd7) for 2 cycles (Aug. and Sept.) I really regret it because I did not ovulate since August and no AF since Sept.--just a bit of spotting last week.
Has anyone else been messed up on clomid? Were you able to get straightened out after that?

Wow - new blood. How exciting. Nice to meet you. I think there are a few over 45's on here. Myself I am turning 43 next week.
I am supposed to start clomid in a few days. I have been very nervous about it but I guess they are doing the clomid challenge. That's where they take your fsh on day three, you do the clomid and then they take your fsh on day 10 to see if you've responded and you have more follicles or something like that anyways.
I almost don't want to see my numbers.
It's cd1 for me today.
This thread gets a little sleepy sometimes. It's so good to know there are other over forties out there.
Good luck and lots of baby dust.

Anybody home. Well I went in for more blood work today. I'm starting to feel like a human blood bank. Today was my fsh for day three. I start clomid tonight and go back in on day 10 to test again and have an ultrasound. Also, next Tuesday, I have my hsg.
I'm an emotional wreck really. I'm up to my butt in statistics and I'm so sick of statistics. I'm turining 43 soon so I'm kind of flipped about that.
Just venting.
Velveteen, where did you go?????? You're supposed to be helping me through this emotional imbalance of insecurity and desperation.

Hopeful,
just remember that statistics represent a huge cross section of people, they don't speak about YOU, so don't get too caught up in the numbers, OK?
I too am getting close to 43, but I don't think it suddenly reduces my chances. On the contrary, I feel like I am getting nearer and nearer to my baby.

I only know dpo because it was so damn obvious, like in the old days! But, no bd that week, so no 2ww for me. Just missed the chance. And I am back on the baby bandwagon, as I suspected. My little guy loves school and the day I took him in the first time I called my dh at work and cried "I need a baby in this house!!"
How's everyone else doing? Any good news out there? It's raining in PA again and I have no interest in anything today. I put the boy in front of Noggin and I'm vegging at the kb. Going to FLA next week to visit my big guy so we're all excited about that.
:

to everyone in the coming month..

I saw my new OB/GYN yesterday & I really liked him but sadly, my chances of getting PG @ almost 44 YO with ONE tube/ovary (from Endo) is 50%.

<sigh> - I knew that but it was tough to hear.
even if we could afford it... I'm not the best candidate for fertility treatments.

BUT Dr. did say not to despair b/c his 1st Endo patient he told that it was unlikely for a pg... has 2 boys.
So that was not all that bad I guess.

CD 1 for me today, ladies. Perfect 28 day cycle. We 'did it' even on day 14. Huh.

I just don't know...just don't know.
