WOO HOO feeling good this cycle. I am actually going to temp and do OPK's. Haven't done that in a very long time. Fall/Winter seem to be my more fertile times, since I have gotten pg both times during this time of year.

Anyone else pre ovulatory??

I am on CD23..but I still haven't o'ed. Can I join you ladies? I am starting to feel really defeated here. Lots of tears. If I just saw ONE positive OPK ever I would feel better...but nothing. SO I am hoping it will be soon...and that it will catch.
LOts of baby dust to you all!!!

Count me in on this one!!!!

I am on cd7 and just gave myself my 5th shot of Follistem. Go to the RE tomorrow to see how my follicles are doing in there love those follicles!!!!

This will be THE cycle...... hoping and praying and singing and lighting candles for us all!

AdinaL: My cycle before last, I had was on cd 45 (anovulatory cycle) and went to the weekly Lamaze class with my sister for whom I am her labor coach and I GOT MY PERIOD!!! I am convinced that somehow all those pregnancy hormones helped me..... and maybe the deep breathing and relaxation I'd been working on with my sister?!

Adina, (((HUGS))) I'm so sorry. If O isn't going to show, then I hope AF does so you can move to a +++cycle. I think this last cycle was annovulatory for me, but I didn't start keeping track until about a week or so ago, lol.

Birdwomyn~ I hope that your follistem is working. I was supposed to start that last year, but decided to wait.

Count me in-I'm on CD 4 today. I have an appointment with a new OB on December 19th, so at least one more cycle before I get any testing done. This OB has lots of surgical experience, so maybe I'll get that lap done. My last 2 OB's have been unwilling to do so much as an ultrasound, despite a long history of pain and other endo sysmptoms. One wanted me to try and get pregnant, the other wanted me on the Pill, which makes me depressed and gain weight. I want clear answers! So hopefully this OB will be more helpful. i never thouth I'd be begging for MORE medical intervetion in my life. I think the fact that my HMO directly runs these clinics doesn't help. So we'll see-i'm hopeful.

cheers,
-Tuli

Tuli,

Is your new OB a RE? (Reproductive Endocrinologist) I've found that until I went to an OB who specialized in RE, I had no luck with dealing serioulsy with my endo or my PCOS. My previous OB just kept saying lose weight in the same breath she's say you may have PCOS -- yet never addressed the connections between the two and the impact they have on fertility. It was so frustrating.

I hope you have lots better luck with this new one. I too was wanting a more natural process of TTC (for me, that would have been self-insemination) but I am grateful that medical help is available since I obviously need it!

GOOD LUCK and baby dust.

cd3 for me - Wow! Since I had the closest thing to a regular cycle last time, we are all still cycle buddies! Woohoo! Let's go show 'em and all end up on the preg boards next month!!!!

Tuli,
An ultrasound will not show endo! Endo is usually the same density as the tissue around it, and won't show up. I'm glad you've changed doctors, but you really really need to see a specialist and have that lap you've been putting off. A regular obgyn is not the best person to perform lap surgery, and can actually make things worse! Trust me on this, I've been there done that, TWICE! Go find someone who does nothing but reproductive surgery, and they will make it all better. And all this coming from me, and I am scared to death of doctors and hospitals - I can' t tell you how much better I felt after I found a specialist and had my last lap. I surely would never have gotten pregnant the first time without his help. Sorry I'm so adamant about it, but if you read my endo story at my website, you'll see why.

It's so great to have all of you here! Lots of baby dust to ALL of us in this coming cycle!!

I go in tomorrow for my ultrasound and hCG shot - then it's IUI #9 ( ) for me on Saturday! I'll be starting a new 2ww then... unless anyone else is there before me.

Good luck to everyone! This has got to be our time!

Stafl and Byrdwoman,
Thanks for the input. I haven't really been putting off the lap, though. I am unable to self-refer to an RE or other reproductive surgeon, and have been getting no help from my last OB, who said that I either need to go on the pill or try and get pregnant. I have read that an ultrasound can show some endo as well as other problems, so it seems like it wouldn't hurt to look, as it's also part of a basic infertility work-up. I do realize that it not a reliable diagnostic tool for endo, but I'm also concerned about ovarian cysts and other problems that might have some of the same symptoms. I'm still going back and forth on what to do, and now my insurance is changing so I have more options. I still have to start with an OB, and I have a reccomendation from a friend that I might go with. I think I'll call that clinic and ask which OB there has the most RE experience. Does that sound logical?

thanks again,

-Tuli

P.S. Stafl, congratulations on the "normal" cycle!

Tuli - sorry about the insurance run-around. That stinks! At least you are seeing a different doctor, hopefully in a different practice.
I just wanted to warn you against letting just anyone do your lap, it really does make a difference to see a specialist.

And to everyone here - ~~ GO EGGIES GO! ~~ GO EGGIES GO! ~~

Baby dust to all at this time!

I went to the RE today, go back Sunday morning, do the trigger shot Sunday night and 36 hours later, Tuesday morning, do IUI!!! Tuesday will be cd14 for me. This morning he saw 2 follicles maturing really well, 2 that probably won't develop into much and another one on my left overy that won't do much of anything since it is adhered to my bowel.

My dp, April, got to take time off from work today and go with me to my appointment (I have to travel 2 hours to get to the appt and 2 hours home plus a little over an hour doing the ultrasound and bloodwork and pharmacy stuff, so she hasn't been able to come before today). She is FINALLY getting really excited/scared to hope about all this. She had fertility problems and a m/c when she went through all this infertility stuff herself 20 some years ago and has just been REALLY reluctant to invest or hope.

I am SO excited..... I, too, would LOVE To have , but the possiblity of or more is really scary to us, although the RE thinks that since there are 2 follicles that are so much more developed than the others, we don't have too much risk of more than twins....

I guess I will be headed over to the ttw next Tuesday!

My sister had her appointment today. She is at week 39 today and her doc is getting worried about her high b/p and gest. diabetes and the baby getting to big, so he has scheduled her for induction Wed night if she doesn't deliver before then (she has been having contractions off and on the last couple days). I get to be her labor coach, so I am hoping that baby dust flows my way--- if so, I will share with you all.

I am sorry this is so long, I am always long winded here. You all are the only ones I can talk to about all this since my dp has been so afraid to engage......

TO US ALL!

Tuli,

I am glad you are going to have more options. I spent 2 years with an OB giving me the run around and not helping at all -- I get really mad just thinking of the time she wasted by not referring me on -- I am turning 37 on monday and she should never have wasted my time at the age I was when I was going to her. I found the RE I am going to through a referral from the midwife at the Planned Parenthood where I work and then a friend told me he is the first RE she has ever found that has really helped her with her endo -- I feel really good about him. I hope you find someone you feel good about too. I do agree, that expertise with lap is really important. If you do have endo, someone who doesn't do lap all the time can do more harm than good.

I also have PCOS and treating that has been key to getting me to ovulate. Up until a couple years ago, I had no idea fertility was so fragile. I guess you never know until things aren't working.

Good luck with the new doc!!

kathybird, you sounds so excited, it's contagious! I hope you and your DP have a good visit, sending you lots of baby vibes!!!

Ho hum, I don't know what's going on anymore, it looks like my body tries to ovulate, then stops, then starts again a few days later. It's only been 6 months, so I'm sure I should give it some more time, especially since I'm nursing my toddler pretty frequently most days. I just thought things would be more normal by now.

Best wishes to everyone TTC (you know, I get the feeling there must be a whole lot of lovin' going on right now )
Steph

Sahara, what you are describing is pretty typical for a breastfeeding mother. Even after I got my period, I had two anov cycles before I finally ovulated at 18 months pp.
