Hi,
I just took a first response pregnancy test and there was definately a second line but it was very very faint... tell me this is good??? Maybe I should test first thing in the morning, I heard that was the best time to do it.
I'm 5 days late so shouldn't it have been a dark line if I was?
Well that has been known to be a prob with those test sometimes but if you are
that late if I were you I would just make an appointment to have a blood test done.
That is the only way to be for sure.
I took a test last month and got a faint then I never got another one AF was a week late and my blood work was -.You should go to the DR and get your blood work done. That will make AF come for sure lol
I had used those tests for about a year and NEVER had any kind of an evaporation line but in the last few months I have seen them so that is a possibility. Also that test is SO sensitive it sometimes picks up as little as 6mius/hcg. So if you have an egg that is trying to develop but doesn't you might release enough to get a faint line and then test negative soon after if your egg doesnt fully implant. Also, because it can pick up such small amounts you could be positive on one test then neg another because the amount in your urine might vary and sometimes just the tests themseves vary! Stronger dye in one stick than another.
So....lots of possibilities! The key thing is probably knowing if you are positive you are 5 days late. Were you charting or do you have super regular cycles?Obviously if you are off on your O date then that is a huge factor!
Finally, some women just don't secrete much hcg in their urine immediately.
My sister-in-law was going to be put on Clomid for fertility issues (she didn't qualify, had ditsy doctors!)anyway a blood test showd that she was already pregnant! She was 6-8 weeks at the time and wasn't testing postive with her urine. I'd wait a couple of days, test again and if negative maybe see if you can get a blood test.
Agree with all the comments pp made. Did the faint line stay there? I've had 'disappearing positives' with FRER (as described also at www.peeonastick.com). So when I tested positive with it this time around, I double checked with a few other brand tests. Something to try?
