In Taking Charge of your Fertility, Wechsler mentions that orgasm (female, obviously) may change your Ph levels and lower fertility. I have therefore, during our fertile time, been avoiding orgasm during intercourse, and am wondering if it's really neccessary to do so. Does anyone else do this?

Mama to twins Wren and Robin, 3/3/08.

I thought it changes pH which might favor the xy sperm, but not lower fertility... maybe I'm wrong, it has been a while since I've read TCOYF.

TCOYF says saving your orgasm till after the semen is in there will help get the swimmers where they need to go. So, don't avoid it, just time it right!

yep~ the orgasmic contractions will actually help to suck the swimmers up and help them on their way to the final destination, plus what is secreted in female orgasm is conducive to assisting the swimmers

Both of my pregnancies were acheived AFTER having an orgasm... of course it took us 15 months for my 1st, 23 months for my second but the months I didn't orgasm, I also didn't get pregnant so I really don't think it makes much of a differance.

Jeri, Natural lovin' Mama to Elijah (9.29.03), Eden (10.2.06), and a little one lost along the way (1/12)., Step-monster to Shelby (18) and Stephen (16). Celebrating 12 years together with my soul-mate, Eric. Hoping for a rainbow1284.gif someday!
