BreJean, I also had terrible morning sickness. And in fact, I continue to have what I think is sub-optimal digestion. I have been researching this like crazy, and I strongly suspect that I have long had a lot of toxicity in my liver. So, I think that your idea for a liver cleanse is a great one. It is one of the first things I plan to do after having this baby! (carefully, I know due to nursing).
Reasons to suspect liver as a culprit (for me):
-I fit the nux vomica homeopathic personality profile.
-When I was juicing fruits and veg a LOT (before becoming preg), I frequently had yellow skin, which many suggest is a sign that the liver is excreting/cleansing LOTS of bile. Some people think that it is the additional beta-carotene, but I have many reasons to disagree with that.
-When having emotional problems, I tend toward diarrhea or constipation.
-I sometime "crave" red wine (and drink lots when not pregnant)
-Tendency toward vata (ayurvedic) imbalance.
-Liver cleaners like beets tend to make me feel better.
