Sorry to whine, but I know you all understand
I jsut came off the weekend with the IL. I really enjoy having them, but this weekend was really hard. AF showed up the day before they got here. I have mentioned that I am ttc to SIL but not anyone else. After this weekend though I think I might tell MIL and she can let SIL know how to be a little more understanding. The whole weekend all I heard was, "when are you going to have another?" and "We really need another baby to spoil" and all those kinds of comments. I am sure they are meant in the best of humor, but to a woman who is experiencing what seems like the umpteenth period==ttc failure, it is nothing short of infuriating!
I managed to keep my humor face on and not blow up but sadly, I was pretty happy when they went home. I don't want to feel like that about family.
To add a question to the thread--
how long did you wait before looking into doing something more than just charting and BDing? I have been trying for basically over a year and am starting to wonder when is too long.

Oh I so understand! It is such a heart break. I'm currently in the 2ww, and dreading the possible let down, again. ((((rasjane)))) I would tell your mil so you don't have to experience comments like that again, no matter how well intentioned.

Everyone is different, but it seems like if you have a doctor you trust it couldn't hurt to get a few tests. Or maybe call and see what they think. I ttc'd for 9 months, then had a miscarriage. At that point my doctor started doing all the hormone tests, ect. Part of that is because I'm almost 39 and part because I'd tried for awhile before my loss.

Hang in there.

I'm so sorry you are sad. I know how frustrating this can be and I am still new to it -- I have a nasty inkling that this may take me a while. I hear comments like those you mention all the time too. And even though they are said with no ill intent, they can be hurtful.

Have you talked to your OB about this yet? I think the length of time before doctors look any further is dependent on your age. The American Infertility Association recommends 1 year for women under 35 and 6 months for women over 40. Not that you should listen to them, I am just throwing that out there for you.

In any case, the charting you have done will be great information for your doc if you decide to discuss it with him or her.

warmest thoughts.
