Anyone get pregnant from BD the day after ovulation? - Mothering Forums

My dh was out of town and I think we missed ovulation by a day from my opks. It was positive on Tuesday and I had emcm on Wednesday but he wasn't home to bd until Thursday afternoon. My opk on Wednesday looked half positive (one side was as dark as the control side but the other was lighter) Do we still have a chance this month?

Yes. From what I've read, the egg survives from 12-24 yrs after ovulation then afterwards starts to deteriorates. So don't give up!

I'm not trying to be a downer, but from what I've read while the egg might survive that long chances are most likely 0%. The study I read (don't remember where) showed that of all the women in the study, after about 12 hours out, the # of pregnancies was zero. (I had the day after q a few months back so I researched it to death) I think in the past it was thought this was a potentially fertile time (with margins of error it looks like a fertile time), but I suspect that we will learn that is wrong, and that even at the point of ovulation it might be too late, better to have it there during ovulation. On a positive note, you could have ovulated just a little late, and there is always a chance..., and everyone's body is different. There probably are people who have been pregnant the day after.
