i'd like to clean the list up and delete the names of people no longer around. what do you guys think of deleting people from the waiting to o and 2ww catagories that haven't posted in the last month or 2? i'd leave the waiting to be ready and waiting for 1st egg as those people might just not be active for right now. any thoughts on this? thanks!

hi sarah. I asked aimee to DELETE me from the list, not put me on a break. We aren't on a break, i'm just not wanting to be "seen" on here. Oh, and it's jillybeans with an s btw aimee.

eta: Realized that might have come off wrong. I just can't handle being active in a group that has a lot of bfp's...especially when i thought it would turn out to be women with a bit more problems conceiving. Still lurking though. And having issues ovulating with nursing, and issues ovulating with infertility are completely different, you know? There is no comparing.

I have been thinking of getting my name off the list for similar reasons Jill. I had difficulty ttc #1 without nursing on top of it! Plus 2 m/c's now...it is sometimes hard to see all the BFP's. I wish you all the best of luck.

I need to be placed in waiting to O...and it's Naturegirl

Sara, I think if someone hasn't posted in 2 months they could be removed?? I think many may have "moved on" without letting anyone know. I wouldn't be offended if I found my name removed after 2 months. 1 month may be too early though...just my 2 cents.

Sarah - I think that I should actually be on the waiting for the first pp egg list. AF has not visited since DS was conceived. I mean I am waiting to ovulate, but first things first. (although I would LOVE to catch that first egg and keep AF out!)
Is that correct?
BTW please check the spelling of my name. It should be esmlranch.
Thanks

SORRY Jilly -- I just forgot, I am really sorry.

Thread looks good Sarah

I too wanted to clean up the old inactives -- but never got around to it -- I also wanted to try to get all the real names up with the screen names -- but with the ice storm, travling 2 weeks and so on -- I didn't do as good a job as I wanted.

I have a question, hope it's OK with you guys...

I hear women say they wait to have more kids so they will be sure not to have a dip in supply. But before there was birth control how did mamas keep nursing their babes all those years if supply is affected in so many women? Did they practice NFP that long ago? Were they just not having sex? Did they stop nursing and then start again when the new baby came?

Sorry if this is a repeat question. I can't find anything about it. Thanks

i am not up on the history -- except to say -- that the BF is and of it self part birth control......we are all lactured NOT to relie on it -- and I know moms in IRL with babies who are 14 adn 15 month apart due to thinking BF would not a new preggeancy -------- buttttttttttttttttttt read old threads, there are a lot of here who are TTC hard and still not getting preggo due to the nurseing soooooooooooooooo it does have a real effect.

I know nurseing is the old BC any woman in my family -- before mom and I -- used.

Also it used to be normal for families to have 8 or 9 or 12 or 13 kids.....and the oldest to marry while the youngest might still be a baby or tot.....

I also think -- if you think back far enough, wagon train days -- settlement days, and before the new country and back to caves -- wellllllllllllllllllllll life wasn't was easy is it now -- nutiuon wasn't always as good, and i think THAT too played a role with conception and birth spaceing.

Aimee is right. (history buff here) BF was used as a primary source of birth control by many cultures. If the woman had supply issues while pregnant, she would turn to a lactating friend, relative, or a find a wet nurse. If they couldn't turn to any of those and the nursling was too young for solid foods, the food of second choice was goat's milk in many cultures. It was easier than cow's milk for the babies to digest. Babes whose mothers died in childbirth would also turn to the same sources. Does that help at all?

Subbing.

From what I hear bf'ing is only effective in the first 6 months provided you're nursing around the clock and giving no bottles of solids. IMO, a lot of women today end up with kiddos very closely spaced due to supplamental bottles and early solids....also sleep training, not cosleeping, etc...all that plays a part in leading to early ovulation. Then of course there are some women that just seemed wired to get PPAF back early. Two of my AP mama friends were like that. Me, I didn't get mine until James was 18.5 months old.

Thanks for the birthday wishes mama's! Unfortunatly due to DH's work I'm not having much of a birthday celebration. My dad got me tickets to Phantom of the Opera for my birthday, DH and I were gonna go but he's on major overtime now, working 10 hours today and yesterday and 8-10 tomorrow...has to be at work at 5 in the morning, with phantom not starting till 7:30, odds are it won't get over till closer to 10:00 or 11:00 even...then we have the 30 minute drive to pick James up and the 1 hour drive home...DH can't function on 3 hours of sleep cuz of his diabetes. So...I'm taking a mama friend of mine. Still taking James to my dad though cuz my dad was really looking foward to watching him.

Renae wife to J :, Mama to 4.5y/o J-bird and 2y/o A : and E coming in late Dec/Early Jan. My husband had a living donor kidney transplant! :

We're TTC this month.
I thought I was pregnant last month, but ended up getting period 8 days late.

My OPK was positive this morning, so here's hoping for tonight.

modern-mama to DS (5.16.05) and DD (9.11.08) and one more (GIRL!) coming in December

JamesMama: I'm glad you get to do something fun for your birthday

Sarah: My dd is 21 months old now. Instead of listing age, could you please change it to her birthdate (5/3/05) Thanks

Anybody testing on Valentine's Day? That's when I'm going to test again if AF doesn't come before then.

Hey ladies just checking in. Thanks so much for filling in for me this month, we just have a lot going on personally and I knew I wouldn't be able to give the attention needed to the thread.

Please move me to Waiting to O, as I got to start a new cycle (sigh). I'll still check in every once and a while but won't be around as much at least this month... Oh, can you also add the kiddo's next to my name? DS is 17 months and DD is 8yrs old.

Proud mama to DD#1 (11) DS (4) and DD#2 ( 2 )

Okay ladies, I've been doing pretty good as far as being calm about things. I'm 9DPO and my chart is looking triphasic ... www.fertilityfriend.com/home/eastkygal

I'm thinking of testing on Monday if AF doesn't show by then. I'll be 12DPO then. I've been exhausted and really hungry, but other than that no symptoms. I can't wait until 18DPO like FF suggests. I won't be dissappointed if I don't get a + that early, I'll just try again later. What do you all think?

moderngal Hope your time is short here.

Moderngal- I went ahead and added you to the 2WW would you like me to add your dc's bd?

Amandamarie- : for Valentines Day! You are VERY patient to wait so long! I changed dd to her birthdate so no worries on updating age, thanks!

Yoga-changes done, would you rather have their birth month/year or remind threadkeeper to update age? either way, i updated their ages so it's good for a while either way.

ChiaraRose- congrats on DS's birthday! Happy BIRTHday to YOU!!

Zac-:!!

Thanks everyone.

Aimee--It was the second month.

Eastkygal--I'd test. I did on what I think (only monitoring CM) was DPO11 or 12 and got my BFP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
