I'm so sorry I completely understand your feelings, but you are NOT a failure. If you fall and wound your knee, and end up with a scar, you aren't a failure - this is a similar biological quirk. Doesn't help the devestation, but it isn't a reflection on YOU. I really hope you can get some specialists opinions about where to go from here. The first thing I'd do would be to jump over to the TCOYF forum while I was waiting, although mostly I haven't had any luck finding things I want. At least it is a bigger forum and eats up some time . I hope you get some better news soon.

Thank you all for your hugs... Sorry about yesterday I just needed to vent.

Ity & Elk to answer your questions I guess ART is an option but since I am new to the US I am not sure how this whole Insurance thing works yet I know it's covered but I guess I have to shop around for a better price to make the most of my coverage. Maybe I can get 2 embryos for the price of one. SICK!!!! (Just seems really wrong to me).... but in the mean time I am going back home (Canada) to speak to my old ob to see what she thinks and recommends. It was just such a shock... :

Elkmamma I hope AF stays away

Lily I am so glad your egg waited for you. I can't imagin bd with my MIL around.

Valarie - Thank you for the Hypo update I want to hear more.

Allisonrose - :

Crystal - I hope you feel better soon.

To anyone else I might have missed. I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Fibre - Thanks for the tip. I love the book but never knew they had a forum... I am heading over there now.

Clara - No need to apologize. Venting is what we're all about! Great that you are able to go see your old ob and get her advice. As for funding IVF, I would try to get a recommendation for a good RE clinic and also "shop" by price. It is crazy, I know! At my clinic (in Minnesota), they have an interesting IVF option. You pay one flat fee that covers up to 3 attempts (cycles) and if you don't end up with a live birth (+ baby still alive at 30 days after birth - sad to even think about!), then they refund you most of the cost (70% I think?). The idea is that couples have to sometimes decide BETWEEN IVF and adoption without getting to try IVF. This is supposed to allow patients to try IVF and still have some finances for adoption. And my friend (in Texas) who conceived with IVF got a special deal if she only transferred 1 embryo. The clinic would freeze the others for transfer in later months, for free. The clinic was trying to reduce multiples.

All of that is to say that apparently IVF treatment costs vary widely AND you can't just compare base price since they have different "deals."

I'm still getting to know everyone so please forgive me, there are not as many personal messages as I'd like.

Clara - I'm sorry you got those results! I've heard recently that there are some sorts of massage that have been proven to reduce adhesions. I could try to find out more if you want. Would laproscopic surgery be an option? I know sometimes with endometriosis they can laser or cut off adhesions, not sure if that would work for your case?

Lily - what an awkward and frustrating situation! I'm fortunate in that I really like my in-laws, and they really want more grandkids. So if they were coming to visit around that time I think we'd have to tell them to go occupy themselves outside of the house once every day or two for a little while

Teneal I'm so sorry for what you went through. Thank you for sharing your story with us. I know anniversaries can be particularly difficult. I hope that you are able to visit her grave soon and that maybe some other people will be able to also. Have you considered posting in the Tribe area? We're all the way across country so we can't go visit for you though I really wish we could.

Elkmama, Fibre_artist and anyone else who will be apart from their partner during BD time - That must be SO frustrating!! I know it wouldn't be *nearly* as effective, but what if you were to freeze some sperm ahead of time and use the "Instead method" during the BD time? It might at least increase your chances some and not "waste" a cycle?

Fibre-artist and all those who offered support for my annoying UTI, thank you!

I've been taking tons of cranberry and it no longer burns at all, but it hurts higher up, around my bladder I guess...oddly exact same place I get menstrual cramps. And (did I mention this before?) two days before I got the major symptoms, I'd just had a few very powerful orgasms and about 15 minutes later suddenly got horrendous intense pain...it first felt like it was in my cervix, and then up near my ovaries. I'm wondering now, could that have instead been urethra and bladder?

I decided to go ahead with the Bactrim. At least it's not *too* many pills, just 2 per day for 3 days. So I imagine because of the weekend it would be Monday before they got the results on the culture, and that would be my last day of Bactrim anyway, so hopefully that'll take care of it!!

Would anyone be willing to look at my charts? I don't really know what to make of them and I'd be interested if anyone knows more about it than I do! Just seems chaotic and unpredictable to me. I think this is the link: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/135b6c . That seems to only show the two latest charts though, is there a way to show more than that?

Cd1 here. Oh well. I am not surprised and was already down about it a day or two ago.

Airmide - Wild idea about freezing sperm for mid-cycle BDing! Since I'm the one traveling this cycle, though, I don't think it would work. Carrying frozen sperm to DC doesn't seem feasible (although I used to pump on trips and freeze the bmilk there to fly home). Hope you're feeling all better soon!

Heather - I agree with SarahJen. :

I did! I don't post there, but I am still lurking...

I went to Target and Baby's R Us today to get stuff for my friends baby shower - cuteness overload, my ovaries ache from all the cute baby stuffs. Babies and pregnant ladies everywhere, I told my friend it was a good thing I wasn't all Clomid-ed up and emotional, or I wouldn't have been able to take it. We did get a ton of really cool stuff, and it was kinda fun to pick stuff out and to ooh and ahh over all the adorable clothes, and the iddy-bitty shoes and socks and stuff.

Elkmama I guess I don't know that much about travel regulations. If it were me I think I'd probably try to put it in my checkable luggage maybe with a cold-pack next to it. Or even just frozen in a container, it might not thaw *that* much. I guess it depends how long you're going to be gone too. But the way I figure it, any spermies is more chance than none!

We use that Instead method sometimes when we're both not in the mood or something. I tend to lose some getting it in, but not that much more than would slip out anyway I think. I've been thinking maybe I should get a mooncup or keeper or one of those type things rather than the instead since they insert differently and might not cause as much spillage.

Do a few things irl, and this thread just takes off! I'm going to try to catch up, but forgive me if I miss something.

Clara—I'm so sorry that you got bad news. But just like everyone else has said, you are not a failure. It looks like there are surgeries to unblock tubes. I don't have any experience, so I can't really offer advice. But maybe this is the answer you need to move forward and fix the problem. Please let us know what you find out when you find out more.

lilyflower—I'm glad you and your son liked the beads. It's fun to pass things along--I hope you can make something with them. I totally know that feeling when you know that you are Oing and feel that even 5 hours is too long to wait.

airmide_m--I think you have to have a paid membership to display more than 2 charts. Hummm... I don't know what to think of your charts either. Do you do any opks or ferning or other ovulation predictors? If not, I'd try that to see if you could make more sense of your chart. One possibility I see is that your temp may not drop down to pre-O levels until day 4-5 and then you may O early-ish (day 9-11). And then your post-O temps might not be much higher than your pre-O temps. Both charts do show a significant jump around mid-cycle that could be O.

Itybty--I oogled some little clothes yesterday... Makes me feel a little crazy and a little excited. It seems elicit. But then again, there are gifts to buy and totally legit reasons to be in such stores.

I'm early in my cycle. Experiencing some ovulatory-type pain. Could this be a cyst? But other than that, pretty quiet on the ttc front. Very busy irl. It's spring here! I remember last spring I felt that my fertility was boosted (but of course... a year later and no bb, so maybe not...).

Interesting! I really hadn't thought about this at all, so I appreciate the ideas.

Barbara - Glad you had a good time with the baby shower shopping. That sounds fun.

Happy Saturday night to you all. For me, it is going to be some yoga, maybe a video with dh, and off to bed early. Wild and crazy, I know.

Yeah my last couple of cycles have been even weirder than before. For a long time it showed me ovulating somewhere day 18-22, then WAY early last cycle, and now I don't know what's going on this cycle! And it does seem to take at least 1-3 days after AF for my temps to drop.

I've tried OPK a couple times and maybe I just didn't try it for enough days. I got a faint positive for a couple days, but never a REAL positive. I haven't tried ferning, you need a microscope for that right? Maybe I should look into that.

And my CM and position and everything never seem to add up with my temps. Maybe I'm just not very good at figuring out position and softness/openness. I've been drinking green tea pre-O, seems to be increasing the mucus in my throat for sure, but I haven't noticed my CM being any better at all. Some months it seems like there's TONS of it (which of course seemed more frequent before TTC : ) and then other months hardly anything.

Does anyone know anything about copper toxicity? I just stumbled on a couple articles about it and now I'm thinking it's another thing I should look into.

Thanks for looking at my chart ELKmama and SarahJen. You've given me quite a lift. It's so silly, but I've been really down about my chances all night - and I was working my shift at my food coop earlier and there were pregnant ladies and babies everywhere and it was all I could do not to cry. I expect AF tomorrow and we're going to California on Monday. The last time we went to cali was right after we started TTC - 16 months ago. Anyway, my chart does look nice, but it's looked nice before - even triphasic - to no avail. But you guys saying that made me smile and I'm going to try to stay positive without getting my hopes up too much.

DP is hollering at me to come to bed. Good night all.

Hi everyone, good morning.

So, this morning, my temp didn't go down. I wasn't going to test until Monday, but I did it. On a whim. BFP!!!! I can't friggin' believe it. But it's definitely there.

http://picasaweb.google.com/brooklyn...73758787592786

I have had pretty much no symptoms. My boobs have hurt a little, but they've hurt other times during the TWW. No queasiness, not particularly tired. The only thing maybe is that I've been warm, warmer than DP, and I'm usually the freezing one. But it hasn't been all the time.

This month we did sperm meets egg (modified - who can have that much sex?!?) and I used OPKs for the first time. But I know what did it is I had a polyp removed. Apparently it was in the way. And I worked really hard to stay positive about it - not always successfully. And I ran a little. Now I'm scared to!

I'm really hoping this sticks, I'm so excited! But I also know that if it doesn't, we got pg on our first try after the polyp surgery, and we'll be able to do it again. But that's the last I'm going to say on that subject - I'm going to try to stay positive!!

Did you start Clomid this time? My ovaries hurt early on. They will hurt here and there throughout.

I am thinking about Teneal today and this weekend.

Angel, your body will get back into the swing of things. Don't worry.

ItyBty, oh those little baby things. They're just so cute. I am afraid if I do become pregnant I may spend all our money on baby stuff, especially if I had a girl. That would be dangerous!!! Boys don't require as many clothes, but there are a serious amount of adorable girl things.

Okay, I better go, MIL coming down stairs.

Me update: 6DPO, my usual nausea started yesterday, but my breasts haven't expanded much - I was starting to get worried that I might have to supplement my progesterone when a chance conversation with another woman who gets really nauseaus during her 2ww pointed out that we're both high in progesterone - so a little drop isn't gonna hurt anything (and certainly feels better). Decades of low progesterone will creep into your head and make you ignore the facts . So crazy reaction #1 down this cycle, only 583 left to go before the 19th

Clara, I'm glad you'll get a chance to talk to you're old ob. I was thinking about you last night! I remembered my RE saying that if my tubes appeared blocked in the HSG they'd recommend surgery to clear them, and I know of women who've had the endo removed, I just don't know anything about scarring. I hope the TCOYF forums prove helpful!

Hmm, interesting concept... I don't know if I'll have enough time to get DH used to the idea before he goes (since it'll probably take me a day or two too ).

I agree about not knowing which organ it is that hurts - I still can't tell between mild cramps and bowel complaints . I was wondering if I had a barely-symptomatic UTI earlier this month (although it coincided with drinking lots of cranberry juice - I may have just thrown off the whole pH thing - or it may have been uterine heaviness...).

Hmmm. Your last cycle chart - how 'uncertain' are those open circles? Personally I'd delete your >100 temps entirely so that you can see the rest of them better - those temps would definitely be fever or something else skewing them. I'm concerned about the amount of spotting though (that's what the *'s mean, right? It's been a while since I used FF). This cycle I need more data . With your previous ones that you can't post, do you have definite pre-o and post-o temps, and what ranges are they?

I've got a Keeper, and I don't know that it would help much unless you did a headstand - it sits pretty low, the bottom of it is just at the openning, instead of up at your cervix. I'd think the only way to get the swimmers where they are supposed to go would be to tilt up enough to make them slide out of the cup and up to the cervix.

You know what? Take a break. You've got some data to show a doc, getting more won't matter much. If you get pg, it won't matter if you charted or not (except for dating, which some docs won't believe anyway). If you had regular cycles 'like everyone else ', then you wouldn't need more than a chart or two either - it only gives limited information. The only need I see for charting is (a) basic hormonal information: knowing if you ovulate, knowing if your post-o temps are too low, knowing if all your temps are too low (b) getting to take a stress-free break from BDing once you are past O and (c) predicting AF if you are irregular, but Oing. I still chart because of (b) (two low libidos!) and (c). I ignore temping on a regular basis if the stress becomes greater than the benefit.

Have you shown your charts to a doc? Do they have a plan to figure out what's going on?

Congratulations Hezzy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are all the same. I am slightly worried that maybe I am O'ing today rather than yesterday just because of the test, but I really think I did yesterday and the temp definitely says yesterday (as long as it goes up the next two days). Maybe I am Oing a couple of little ones? (Woohooo!)

I think I will get my dh once more tonight (he is getting tired).

Things are looking up around here! Spring is in the air, fertile animals and women everywhere!!!

I've had a couple cycles where I had 3 positive tests. My temps usually go up right after the 3rd day, so I always guess it happened late on day 2 / early on day 3.

: that this cycle is IT for you!

PS Thanks, Lily, for the hug about af arriving.

Congrats to Heather!

I was so excited about this cycle. I even tested this morning just in case it came up positive, I could tell my hubby in person rather than over the phone. Of course it came up negative. I'm also spotting. I still don't feel like AF is on the way but my hopes are basically in the trash.
