*waves*

Hi again ya'll!!! Sorry I vanished, but I literally bled the ENTIRE MONTH OF MARCH. *clears throat* Sorry about that. I HATE annovulatory bleeds, can I just share that? Yeah. And I'm very welcoming and comfy with my period, it's just like - jezz louise can a sista get a break!

But! BUT! It also got me to the post were we are OFFICALLY TTC'ing, so I'm able to creep back in. I'm going to start from the start of this thread, and do personals!!

I think I'm coming up on O'ing - this is my OPK from today
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/183/4...36b19533_m.jpg

And - and! I had EWCM yesterday! Just a little bit, but considering I didn't think I made EWCM, that's pretty darned exciting.

Okay, now to catch up!

The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.

Good evening...

Rain - I'm so sorry we'll be losing your wisdom and comraderie for a while. Best of luck with your life changes and feel free to drop by and say hi anytime!

Sarah and Emily, glad to hear there are other AI fans out there! I voted for Gina last night. DH and I have a convoluted scoring system every year where we predict who will get voted off in what order and get points for being wrong. The one with the least points at the end of the season wins! Unfortunately, I have 10 points already and he only has 5. He usually wins! (We haven't chosen the wager yet...)

Kripa - glad you had a thunderstorm to clean and charge the atmosphere for your bd'ing! I hope the stars were aligned this month for you!

Xenon - I hope your dh gets his dream job and you just love the place you move to.

Karen - good luck with your babymaking dance!!!

Happy Birthday Dee!!! :

Sarah - you hit the nail on the head for me today...

a little hope is a dangerous thing!
I'm losing control today... Over the past week, I have wondered a time or two if I was feeling tired or maybe hungrier than normal... Then today, for some reason, probably because AF is due within the next few days... I'm starting to think about how cool it'd be if I was pg this month! I'm starting to imagine how great it would be to start making the phone calls to family and friends! Dang, I was doing so well too! Although, I have no reason to get excited as my temp went down a tad this morning. Ahhh... the pleasures of the 2ww... I'm still holding out to test. But every time I go to the ladies room, I'm checking things out really closly to see if AF might be coming... No sign of her yet but I usually don't get much notice. And she's anywhere between cd 26 and 28. So, I'm waiting til Saturday. But wouldn't it be exciting if I did need to POAS Saturday! I've had a PG test under the bathroom sink since December! It's the kind that either reads "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant." Do these work well?

Ok, I'm done obsessing (for now...) thanks for listening!

Kharen!! Looks like we might be around the same point in our cycles!! Catch those spermies!!

And yes - the transition period was ROUGH. We've been planning this for the last year or so, but that first month where it was a 'might have been' - I was TERRIFIED. Totally scared - I mean - not of the pregnancy itself, but of being a parent. I've slowly come to terms with it (and I kinda thank the month-long period for that - talk about forced time to think and settle), and so now, I'm looking forward to things! I'm still a little freaked out, but um - I think that I'll be aiight. I think I'm slowly shifting into the actual TTC mode.

Good morning! April 5th and I wake up to SNOW?? WTH spring? Where did you go?

Rain I'm sorry to see you go, best of luck with your changes and I hope you'll pop in for a visit and an update once in a while

Kiya yikes a whole month, that's awful! Your OPK definitely look like a + to me, you'll have a busy few days and to quote some wise women here go bananas go go bananas ps I love your hair!

Kharen and Kripa good luck to the two of you too, go swim teams!

Jen hang in there, I'll be madly stalking your chart today hoping that your temp goes up. On another note, HOW is Sanjaya still there? It's not funny anymore! I've never used the pregnant/not pregnant test, is it a digital one?

Xenon : for your temps today too

Dee Happy birthday! When was yours, do we have the same birthday? I'm an April fool

And for me, my temp went up again today. I think I want to go to sleep and wake up next week, I totally need a distraction from this because I'm going to drive myself nutso : Still trying not to read anything into it, it's just temps right? Where is that magic 8 ball?

Rain, best of luck with your goals for the next few months. We’ll miss you, but we’ll be thinking about you!

Kiya—Hey there! It’s good to see you again. I can’t even believe you had to deal with bleeding for so long. That must have been physically and emotionally draining. I’m so glad you’re back with us. And yes—I think we’re at about the same point. Bring on the BDing!

Jen and Sarah : … it seems the 2ww is the ultimate test of patience. What doesn’t kill us … will probably make us better parents, hey? Surely there must be a correlation between the amount of emotional fortitude a woman has exerted over successive 2ww-a-thons and her tolerance and calmness as a mother! How’s that for rose-colored glasses?! I’ll be thinking about you and everyone else waiting for an answer.

Sarah, re: that pesky snow … I just posted some SPRING pics yesterday on my blog: http://www.xanga.com/KharenZhee

Those might warm you up. Spring is a-comin’, ladies!

Dee, great to hear from you! Happy belated birthday! Nine weeks for you already—yay!

Emily: Wow! I just realized you’re already 18 weeks. Almost half way already. That’s wonderful! Hope you are feeling well.

I hope everyone else has a good day!

Good Morning all!

Like Sarah, I woke up to wet snow. Since we live pretty much way up north, the spring we were experiencing wasn't really all that warm, but warm for us. After experiencing 0-20 degree day highs, 50 degrees does feel like a heat wave!

Jencat: I generally feel the same way about AF. I won't believe it until I see blood! Sorry to see you go through this. I notice that the closer I get to AF coming, the more nervous I get. My heart is pounding usually on test day when I take my temperature even though I usually don't test because my temp drops and AF shows before I get a chance. Here's to you not having AF this month and getting your BFP!

Dee: Happy belated birthday! I did get to change your age on the thread to 32! I know that this must be a very happy birthday knowing that this year will bring you a new baby! That has to be the best gift of all.

Kiya: I'm happy to see that your month long period has ended. I was wondering if you just came off of BCPs or was that just a really weird month for you? Just curious. I bled longer after I stopped BCPs. I bled for like 8 days and if you look at my charts you'll know that my period doesn't go past 5 days. I'll never take them again. I was only on them for 9 months and they really screwed with my sex drive.

Kripa and Kharen: I wish you all the best with your bd'ing and I hope that your eggs get caught!

As for me, I'm just watching the swirling snow. I was really getting used to not having any or much on the ground and now we have a new coating. I don't think this snow will last long and it isn't even the good powdery ski snow that we're so used to getting up here. Cycle wise, I'm coming upon the fertile part of my cycle. I'm just enjoying life right now and will start using my OPKs today because for some reason I feel that I may ovulate earlier than in previous months. It's spring and I'm happy so that may be a factor. We'll see.

Good Morning, Ladies!!

Jen: OOh, yeah, that temp drop this morning doesn't look good- maybe it's implantation??? : I feel you on not believing you're out until you see blood!

Rain: Be Well, Be strong, and we'll be here when you are ready to come back!

Sarah: oooooohh!! When are you gonna test? Next WEEK?? Oooh! That's a LOVELY chart you've got going there. : for you too! And I can't believe it SNOWED! We got a cold snap here (I need to make up a greenhouse for my garden beds), but nothing near a frost, much less SNOW!

Kharen : : Draining, yes. That's the right word for it. Funnily enough, the two things that bothered me the MOST was wearing the cup - the last few days I had to put together some makeshift mamacloth, as I was NOT putting that cup back in, and HAVING to wear panties to bed, in case I filled the cup over night.
Hopefully we will get matching BFP's this cycle!!

Kemi: Nope, haven't been on BCPs for close to five years now (after having been on them for 11), because they made me The Crazy. The cycle BEFORE the NeverEnding Bleed was annovulatory, so technically, it wasn't menses, it was an annovulatory bleed, and they are - special. It's happened to me once before in Dec 2004, but I wasn't charting then. All the same - I assume it was the same - stupid long cycle, then insane long bleed afterwards.

The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.

Happy Friday-like Thursday, everybody!

Jen, : : : You've got it right -- this is certainly no time for giving up hope!

Sarah, holy sweet chart, batman!

Kiya, welcome back! I staked your chart all though March and was horrified by your three-week bleed. It's such a relief to know that it's not completely out of the ordinary for you. Onward and upward!

Lots of K-names seem to be fertile right now -- good luck with GIO, Kiya and Kemi and Kharen and Kripa!

Rain, we'll miss you around here. Heck, I miss you already. Good luck with the next few months

Dee, happy birthday! Are you ready to share any news on your dissertation progress yet? (Your OTHER baby )

That's right--I remember mention of you working on your thesis from when I stopped in last month. I am all too familiar with the process. My husband just finished his in the fall, so I'm well versed in providing rousing support for struggling Ph.D. candidates. I'm here to cheer you on!

Kiya: Thanks for answering my question. I was really curious because 3 weeks seemed to be a long time for me, but since this is the norm for you everything seems to check out alright. All the best in your DTD these next few days. This is the best time of the month for me. When DH and I GIO several days in a row. It's fun!

As for me: I wasted my pee!!!!! I was going to start using the OPKs today because my CM increases during the day and even though I don't have a lot of CM, it's starting to change and becoming a bit more abundant. I had already wiped by the time I realized I wanted to use the pee for the OPK. I even held my pee this afternoon so I would have some nice concentrated stuff. Oh well, better luck tomorrow.

Well I'm back from my first visit with the fertility specialist and it was a quite interesting.
I handed her my charts and told her how my temps where confusing me and she tossed my charts in the trash without looking at them and said temps don't really mean alot given everything that our bodies go through from day to day.
She said that you could have an unsymptomatic bug that your body is fighting off and that could make you temps either high or low and obscure your charting.
She told me to put my thermometer away because obviously charting is not working for us. She said for every 1 woman that charting works for there are two woman who don't follow charting 'rules'.
She also said it is very possible to ovulate twice in one month (as far as 14 days apart), especially if you're hormones are out of wack, and ESPECIALLY if you have suffered a tramatic miscarriage.

I said I was either on CD 17 or 44 (Not sure due to a 1 day heavy period) and she gave me an order for a 3 day hormone panel.

Basically because HPT obviously don't work on me there is no use waisting the money on them.
And because there isn't really anything they can do for a pregnancy in the first 6 weeks (unless you have a history of miscarriages...which I don't really because I lost my pregnancy due to lack of knowledge, not body malfunction) then a blood test at this point is unnessecary.
I got the good ole' 'call me when you've missed two periods.
So basically I keep taking care and get a hormone panel if I get my period and call her if I don't.
So I've got about 10 days to wait.

My syptoms are pretty much steady. Everything I put in my mouth from water to spicey pizza gives my such nasty indegestion. Not the burning kind, just the feeling like you swallowed a fist full of pills without enough water. I have an unbelievable amout of gas (mostly burps) and I'm drinking close to 100 ounces of water a day. I'm so bloated my close feel too tight, and yesterday my nipples started itching and they feel like they're being pinched.
I get nauseous in the morning, but that doesn't last through out the day and my abdonmon is very tender to the touch.
By my calculations I would be about 4 weeks if I was pregnant.

Kemi I'm sorry but I did laugh at you saying you wasted your pee I started using OPKs this month and it was a really had thing for me to remember not to just go pee when I felt like it and now I forget that I can!

Kiya, xenon, Kharen thanks for checking out my chart : I'm trying to stay zen but yeah, not easy.

Kharen thanks for the spring pics very nice! It's seriously miserable here, it's like February again today and supposed to be like this until the middle of next week. Earlier this week I was out in the back yard looking at all the little sprouts coming up in the yard and now they're frozen in again :

Jen how are you holding up? I'm keeping my : for you

Whew. I’m having trouble keeping up with you guys!

Rain, good luck with everything going on in your life. We’ll miss you!

More AI fans here. Although we’re kind of lame fans – we haven’t voted. I guess I should be ashamed of that, especially with the recent results. I tried to vote once, a couple of years ago, during the finale, but it was busy the whole time. Guess that’s just the finale.

Thank you, everyone who complimented our photos. I told DH that everyone liked the pictures (since he took most of them), and that really seemed to make him happy.

Dee, Happy Birthday!!!

Kat and Kiya, glad you see you guys back!

Kat, I’m hoping you find some answers soon.

Kiya, that OPK looks veeery positive!! Woohoo!

Sarah, Your chart looks gorgeous!

I’m sorry to hear about the snow, Sarah & Kemi. It stinks to get a taste of spring and then have it taken away, doesn’t it?

Hey gals.

Well, still no AF here but I'm starting to feel crampy - just like AF usually feels. If I start, it'll be tonight or in the am I think. Work has been CRAZY and I'm running a small retreat tomorrow so I won't have any time to feel sorry for myself... Gonna have a marg tonight to make myself feel better. That's right - I forgot that if AF does come, I can use that as an excuse to feel selfish and do nice things for myself. Eat like a pig. Laze around. Maybe go shopping.

Sarah - your chart still looks incredible!

Well, I was sad about Gina being voted off. I voted for her. If you wait about 30 minutes, you can always get through (except maybe the finale).

Happy BDing to those of you who are!

Kemi - bummer on the pee! I try to remember to hold my pee after 1 or 2 at work. Then I POAS when I get home. In the morning, I put the box of OPK's on top of the toilet seat so I remember to do it when I get home desperately having to pee!

Sarah - yes I think the PG test is a digital one. It has a refill thingie you can buy replacements for and insert into the main thingie. Ok, that made no sense! I totally agree about Sanjaya and Haley too. What is going on this year! Those two should have been the first to go!

Kristina - Little Britain looks funny! Where do you watch it?

Kittykat - you poor thing! How confusing and uncomfortable! I only hope it's a good sign and you're PG!

Jen, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling crampy. I hope it's not af

We've been watching Little Britain on BBC America (Directv)...but now I see that it's on Netflix also, and of course Youtube.

Well, that B!T(H AF came to town! I'm so mad I'm going on strike. No temping for a few days! I've had it! : Maybe if I stopped temping I'd sleep better and then maybe I'd get PG...? Who knows. I actually will probably temp this cycle because it's our last cycle ttc before seeing my dr on May 11. I hope he can offer some help. It's starting to feel really disappointing, like maybe it won't happen at all... Course, I've only been trying for 5 months and there are plenty of women who try a LOT longer than that! My step sister and a gal I work with both tried for 3-4 years before having two kids each!

Anyhoo... I'm just venting temporarily and then I'm going to go forward and have a good, fun day strategic planning with my people and going for a nice dinner with some friends. In fact, the friends have just adopted their 8 year old neice b/c her mom is in trouble. So, it'll be interesting to hear about how the adjustment is going. That is something I'm interested in for the future (adoption or fostering) if I can convince DH - whether we have our own kids or not.

Thanks for letting me vent. This board is great for that! And thanks for all the hopes, xd fingers, fairy dust and hugs over the last 2ww!

Oh Jen what a rotten thing to wake up to. I'm sorry it wasn't your month and I totally understand going on temping strike.

xenon your chart is still looking good :

Lots of good O vibes to the circle K! Looks like there'll be good company in the 2ww in a couple of days.

Good morning, ladies! I’m so glad it’s Friday!

Jen, I’m sorry, sweetie. Ugh. I hope that the rest of the day—especially the dinner with friends—helps to alleviate some of the frustration.

As for me: I wasted my pee!!!!!
A statement you will only ever see on a TTC board. Seriously though, Kemi, I am sorry. That really stinks. I hope today goes better.

KittyKat, I’m sorry everything is still so uncertain for you. This must be ridiculously frustrating. I hope you get some answers soon.

Sarah, oh that chart, that beautiful chart. :

Christina, haaa … Little Britain is great! Don’t mind "the computer," and have fun making the most of this weekend!

Okay, a TMI-ish question from a neophyte:

Evidentially, I don't believe that the recommended 20-30 minutes of lying still after DTD is enough. For the past two nights, I have stayed awake for about 2.5 hours--until 1 a.m. (when I can't get to the bathroom fast enough)--holding my body at an ever-so-slight bend in hopes that the extra 90-120 minutes would earn me extra credit or something. I'm so tired!

Do you really think 20-30 minutes is enough for the swimmers to get where they need to go? Does anyone care to share the logistics of their after-deposit behavior? Because this is just not working for me.

Thank you so very much for any thoughts you might have. Where else could I ever ask this question without someone thinking I'm certifiable?!

I think technically it is, I normally get up to go to the bathroom right after but during 'crunch week' I just try to go to sleep without getting up again. Unless the deed is done in the morning or during the day, in that case I stay there for 20ish minutes or as long as I can stand it. If you're really worried about escaping swimmers you could try instead cups, I've heard that they keep the precious cargo secure longer and then you can get up if you need to.

And now you know way too much about me too.

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!!

Jencat: I'm so sorry that AF just had to visit you. Taking a charting strike is a good idea, however when I went on a charting strike it was right after we moved to VT and the cold weather really altered my ovulation pattern. I was o'ing on CD15 and CD17-18 every other month and then it changed to something like anytime between CD18-21 every month. It was so weird. Eat some chocolate, watch a movie, and take care of yourself. Who knows? This may be day 1 of your 40 weeks!!! ( I just LOVE that saying! )

KitttyKat: Sorry to hear that things are so up in the air. It really stinks too that your charting wasn't taken seriously by your doctor. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! :

Sarah: Your chart looks great! Here is some baby dust and hopes for a BFP so I can move you to the graduates list!

Kharen, Jencat, and Sarah: Not to worry about me wasting pee. I told my DH that I wasted my pee and he just busted out laughing! I thought it was a bit funny too. I'm a bit more concious about when I pee.

On my end: It's a bit early, but I'm already starting to have some EWCM! I was very happy when I checked my cervix mid-day and pulled out some 2 inch stretchy stuff and last night when I wiped, there was a nice 3 incher on the toilet paper. I'm just winding up though so I'm not going to go buck wild just yet. I'm waiting for my positive OPK which I will be taking in about 25 minutes. I hope that you all have wonderful weekends.

Hey everybody,

I thought you guys may find this amusing. Since Kharen asked about whether 20-30 minutes was enough laying around to let the swimmers get "in there", it reminded me of a little cartoon from Planned Parenthood that I saw some months ago and thought was too funny! They make it seem as if a drop of semen will cause pregnancy. Well only if you're a teenager! So watch this little film on How Pregnancy Happens...

Thanks for your thoughts, Sarah!! The Instead cup might be a good idea.

Kemi, that is hysterical! I've seen that before, but I had to watch it again. I must say--I love the thought of my DH's sperm sitting around and playing cards while they wait for the egg.

Oh my god Kemi that video was hilarious I don't know who came up with those characters but seriously, hi-lar-i-ous. I'll forever imagine the swim team vacationing by the seminal pool.

Karen - 20-30 minutes is just fine - all the strong swimmers are where they should be by then. In my opinion the most important thing is that you experience the big O which can be challenging when you are DTD on a schedule. Please forgive me if this is TMI, but in the spirit of helping my fellow TTCers I will share with you that often I would get my DH to GIO by offering a quickie (basically no work on his part - knowing I probably wouldn't O) then after we DTD and I was lying there I would give myself a hand

Also, you should try a couple of different positions during your fertile window -some women have a tilted uterus and have a better change of getting pregnant by DTD doggie style. HTH

Also, good luck to all of our friends at the Circle K (and C)!
