I got the following blood tests:
TSH
Prolactin
Thyroid

The test order was written up as "no food or drink 10-12 hours prior". At the lab for the blood draw, they said fasting was not really required. I am not a morning person anyway, but trying to do anything in the morning with no food or drink is a huge problem for me. :

My Dr just ordered the same tests for me for Mon and said no food or drink after 11 until the test is done. I have no idea how it might change the results if you do. She told me why the fasting and I forget what she said. Good Luck with the tests and hope it works out!

I had a prolactin and TSH test a couple of years ago and did NOT have to fast.. when I had a thyroid test though I did. SO maybe something with the thyroid test requires the fasting.. ?

Nic, loving mama to 5 with a SURPRISE 6th on the way.
