Are they all alike? I am ttc this summer and wondering whether it makes a difference if digital or glass or the brand. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I have only ever seen digital basal thermometers. I definitely recommend digital because they are easy to read and you want one that measures to the hundredth degree (2 places to the right of the decimal). I got mine at CVS. Mine beeps when it is done which is nice because as I lay in bed waiting I tend to dose and this way I don't have to watch the clock. Mine also has memory which is a nice feature so I can turn it off and later check the last temperature it recorded.

I just stared charting my temps this cycle. I got my BBT at Walgreens for under $10.00 (walgreen's brand), it is digital, beeps when done, and does last temp recall as well.

I use the BD Basal thermometer. I used to use the CVS brand, but my temps were always off and it broke easily for me. Then I went on to use the BD thermometer and it is very nice. It even comes with instructions for how to replace the battery when you need to. It is probably the most expensive thermometer at $12, but it's worth the 2 bucks. It doesn't take temperature to the .01 place, but that doesn't really matter that much and I tended to find that quite confusing most of the time because I also kept a paper chart as well. So the BD get's my .

Another vote for the BD. It beeps every 10(?) seconds to tell you it's still positioned correctly. That makes it a lot easier to use when you're almost asleep. Also, it has a backlight so you can *see* it when you're almost asleep

I had a drug store brand one and it lasted a while, the BD one is what I use now and it's pretty nice. It does beep every 10 seconds, but it has a light and I like that. The therm does not need to read to the hundreths place, it needs to read to every tenth of a degree.
