Congratulations Vegan Cupcake! I was away at my parents home for the holidays and haven't been here since. I missed your BFP. I am soooo happy for you!

I went for an u/s to check my ovaries and I have 8 follicles on my right and 12 on the left but they are all still so tiny. So I go back on Thursday for a second u/s and I guess we will decide what to do then. I think the doctors might write off this cycle if they are not big enough and then change my treatment plan. I hope they grow!

I am doing the hcg shot this time too and I am nervous about that. I will get through it!

How is everyone? I must have missed a lot. I better check the old thread.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!

Yeah, Kiya, thanks for the hot new thread! Looks great.

Happy New Year! I'm hopeful about the new year but...
I'm having a hard day. Let's just say I've finished my first round of Clomid and I feel like absolute crap. Bloated, nauseous, weepy, lethargic, super-morose. Ick. I hope it gets better. I feel snowed under by my own emotions and am desperately trying to distract myself. Last night at a new year's party, I was talking to this woman and just started telling her how 2007 made me so sad and the whole fert. issues thing and started crying right there in the middle of the party. Oh brother. It just kind of happened. Hope you all had better nights. I just don't know what to do with myself. I don't feel like ME at all.
Sri, Jencat~have you experienced this? My ovaries are literally throbbing.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your feeling poorly Poet. I drank champagne last night and felt a little rough today, but I hear that Clomid can be something else.

Still no AF in my case but I could be annov. or something, so I am not getting my hopes up. No symptoms at all since yesterday, of PG or AF. I am just sort of sitting here in limbo. Maybe I'll test again in a few days. I don't want to waste my test, but on the other hand, I keep seeing people say FRER can be strange, and some women don't get a result with it but do with others. So maybe I should go get some digitals. Who knows. I have to go to the doctor tomorrow, but I am technically not but 1 day late for my longest LP, so I don't know if I will say anything or not. We'll see.

BTW my thyroid was fine, in spite of all my low temps, but he wants to retest my sugar or something. If it helps me figure out this weight gain and reverse it, I'm all for it. I just hope its not too serious, but if it was I think they would have been in a much bigger hurry to see me, rather than, "Oh, anytime in January will be fine...."

Hi elspeth! Happy babymaking. I wish you a very short stay here.

Also, your post reminded me to ask that the front post be altered to say that I am now...since September 24..../dramatic sigh/...33.

Sri, thank you for the well-wishes. I hope I can congratulate you soon too! Hopefully those follicles grow nice and big soon.

Poet, ugh, I am so sorry to hear about the throbbing ovaries. Hopefully they're just ramping up for some serious egg production, and then they'll hit their stride and shoot out a super healthy egg.

elspeth, welcome!

anica, a second opinion from a different type of test might be a good idea--or maybe just wait it out, fun as that is!

Elspeth, I also turn 33 in February. What's your birthday? Mine is February 16th!

Poet: I get the throbbing ovaries close to O and a little after. I have been O'ing late though. I still don't have them yet. I do get really bloated. The days I take the Clomid I am a pretty unhappy person with headaches and irritability. The PMS is worse with Clomid for me, too. It really effects me the whole cycle. How many times have you taken Clomid? My first time I had much more painful ovaries than the second time. I have heard other people say this was true for them, too. It was even difficult to BD around O time because I was so sore! Last time it wasn't like that at all.

Morning Ladies!!!

for the emotionality and throbbing ovaries, Poet! That sounds distinctly uncomfy.

Anica - I made the change!

Elspeth!! May your stay here be short and sweet!!

I'm super excited about the new year - and it's not even TTC related - I feel like (and I wish I had realized it with more awareness while I was in the midst) last year was really about internal transformation, changing how I think about and react to being alive - and I'm hoping/manifesting that this year will be about making those internal changes external and apparent.

Which, ya know, is how I keep my sanity on CD45 with no ovulation detected. : *sigh* Murph!

The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.

Kiya - thanks for passing the word about Kripa - how cool!

Poet - I feel terrible for what you're going through, sweetie! Pain AND emotional-ness - what fun! Don't worry about crying at the party. Not only are you "on drugs" it is an emotional time of the year anyway. We all have challenging times... don't be too hard on yourself. Treat yourself well and make sure DH is doing the same! If he's not - tell him to step up to the plate and take care of you - physically and emotionally.

Luckily, the Clomid is not so hard on my as it has been on you this cycle. But, I do think it may affect me in subtle ways that I'm not quite sure at the time if it's the drug or just me... Around Christmas I was feeling quite melancholy and I was just finishing my 5 pills. This weekend I've been a little emotional but not too bad (just O'd). But I do have some pain in my abdomen - I can tell my right ovary is the one ovulating this month... which is cool I guess even if it does hurt.

What is your dose? I'm doing 50 mg for three months, then 100 mg for three months, then 150 mg for three months (if I decide to do it).

Hang in there honey. Seriously, if DH is not being nice and supportive and helpful - you tell him to PM me! I'll "motivate" him and tell him what he needs to do!

Ms. Sig!! May your stay here be short and sweet!!! Do you have a chart we can stalk?>>>

thanks for the blessing
i don't have a chart anywhere yet. i've been keeping them on hard copies, but i'm thinking of transfering them to fertility friend so i can be in the same boat as y'all

code name kringle* doesn't look very positive right now, as i just got some spotting, but i'm gonna try to ride this one out without getting down. i'm going to a meditation retreat this weekend that i'm really looking forward to --i'm hoping to be centered in the new year.

best new years wishes,
ms sig

*kringle - every month my husband and i will assign a ridiculous name to our potential offspring. it helps keep things light hearted.
example: "kringle's waiting for us -- we better get to work (on the bd)"
or "someone better do the dishes. you don't want kringle to be born into a messy house, do you?"

Happy mama to a toddler & baby, dd happytears.gif born 10/18/08, and ds  baby.gifborn 10/3/10.

OK you are SWEET! Your post made me smile smile. DH has been pretty sweet but I like knowing you'll PM him if he needs it.

I think the extreme symptoms really freaked us both out because our chances of conceiving on Clomid aren't exactly great. I think we both saw a flashback to last year beginning TTC with such hope and now this year in such a different place, wondering how long I'll have to take this stuff and how it will affect our lives. I do feel a bit better today than yesterday. I'm taking 50 mg this time and Sri, to answer you, this is my first cycle on it! Both of your experiences with it helped so much to put it in perspective and know I'm not necessarily in complete control here and to be extra gentle.

Plus, it used to bother just me that everyone we know has gotten preg. since we've been trying (no exaggeration, we're up to like 15 gals all in 30's, #1, no problems), but I think it's getting to DH now too. 2 more announcements in the last few days.
Last night we began BDing and he said "OK, let's get our BFP!" Cute.
I'm only CD 8 and I think the Clomid should make me O later, but I had watery cm and high cp, so I figured we should start now and go every other day until after O.

Jencat, Yeah for Oing! I'm hoping hoping everything's doing its thing!!! You're an early Oer too, did the Clomid make you O later these 2 mths?

Sri, Praying for a good u/s tomorrow and nice plump follies for you!Curious, do they ever give you a trigger shot? Thanks for telling me that the clomid effects were strongest the first month.

Anica, Great to hear from you and good that the thyroid is fine too. So, are you still waiting for AF? HOPING FOR YOU! (p.s. yes, I understand that dramatic sigh...had one too in Oct.)

Kiya, Love hearing your New Year visions! But I sure am sorry about CD 45. When do you see the OB? Also, you get the award for the most perfect non-word utterances. Murph, harunph and so forth.

Christine, Sorry you were still on the grad. list. We'll get you off ASAP.

Ms Sig, That WAS cute! Meditation retreat, YUM! Love it! Have a blissful time and may AF stay away.

THANKS everyone for giving me Clomid-woe love and support! My goodness, it does help.

Poet - yeah, I have been O'ing later on Clomid. I usually O day 12 on my own. With Clomid it has been 13 and 15. This month was only a faint positive OPK on day 14. I think my right side is a milder O, or a milder OPK test anyway...

I'm exhausted and frustrated b/c I'm working on a job application for a job I don't want. I'm answering their stupid "supplemental questions" and I don't want to! I'm applying for the job just for the heck of to see if they'd actually want to hire me. But it's in Portland, OR and I don't want to move... why am I doing this!?

Night ladies! Night kringle...

Hi all! I just wanted to pop on and wish everyone a great New Year, thanks to Jen for a fabulous and productive December thread and best wishes for Kiya for lots of positives in January. Welcome to the new members, may your stay be S & S! Hope all the new mamas-2-b are doing well! I think of you ladies often. My brain does not work that well these days, I feel like I have dementia at times, so keeping up with everything is hard. I went back to work Monday and I can't really even focus. Every day is hard but I know that will ease with time. The whole not knowing thing is SUPER HARD! 2 weeks later and it is still being investigated, noone in custody... Ahhhhhh! Anyways, I vent! My Dad said to me, the night before he left to go home, "I haven't spoken up about this until now but I really need to tell you (DH and I), I want to be a grandfather" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! DUH, I want to be a Mom... see my screenname!!! I told him, with everything going on, and needing my surgery, it will be a while. Then DH said the other morning.... so we aren't going to try for a while... I could see the sadness in his eyes! Right now my mind and body are out of whack... I didn't even eat for 5 days and it is a struggle to get food down at times. Don't think it would be a good environment for a little one. Also, I have been smoking... Ahhhhh I know, I know! I will stop... it just seems to ease my nerves at times... of course I have had more suggestions and offers of pills through all this than I care to count. Anyways, please keep the prayers coming, I am sending you all good vibes for virile sperm and receptive eggs.

BTW, my birthday is February 15th and I will be 34 UGH! 35 was my baby making/having cut off! YIKES! :

I love the codes name, Ms. Sig!!

Thanks Jennifer - it's one of my 'tells' online. I've been chatting for FAR too many years..
My appointment is on the 14th, and WATCH, just WATCH, my luck, I'll be on my period. Ain't that how it usually goes?

Christine - I took you off the grad's list

Laura - mine was 35 as well. :roflmao: *sigh* At this point, I'm HOPING to be 'done' by 40.

Laura - it's good to hear from you, honey. I'm so sorry you are going through this right now. I think of you often and I'm sending more prayers your way.

Don't worry about pressure to give dad a grandbaby... he is probably feeling lonely right now and probably needs a distraction from his pain. But you are in no mind to worry about ttc when you are hurting so much. It's good that you told him that right up front so he doesn't get his hopes up right now.

Hang in there, sweetie. I'm sending a serious hug your way. Feel free to cry and hold on... :

Hi y'all, I am officially out now. AF started today. I went back and looked at my chart and I don't think I was ever late. I think FF had it wrong. I had one day of EWCM on day 22, so I readjusted my O to day 23, and then it looked just like the rest of my ovulatory cycles. I'm sure it would have fixed itself if I hadn't skipped those days I was traveling, but I don't really care. It turns out we did BD with excellent timing even with the new date, and it still didn't take. Oh well.

I got blood drawn this morning to check my sugar. The doctor said I may have been excessively gaining and having trouble losing weight because of processing sugar badly and may want to put me on metformin. I know that is used sometimes for PCOS. Sometimes I wonder if I have PCOS-I have some other symptoms as well. Does anyone know how I could find out for sure, or is there any need to know for sure?

I hope all your new years are going as well as can be expected. Mine has been fairly mellow so far.

Laura, that fuzziness is totally normal for what you've been through. I am so sorry to hear about your sister and the lack of progress on the investigation. Just do the best you can. And watch out that cigarettes don't get in the way of your grieving. I know I have used them to muffle emotions before with less than positive results in the long run. Hugs and hugs and hugs.

Welcome and yes that code name thing is just the funniest thing yet. and i think a really good idea, to keep things light is so important. I am new at all this and already i feel i could become a hypochondriac and over stressed. might even be too late for me, better take more of my own advice!

good question i will look forward to someone possibly answering it

Well tomorrow is officially CD60 for me: i just so want to start a cycle and get to have a o and the BD and all that, but instead my DH came home to me being broken and things just dragging on and it sucks.
I still am a bit tender over my left ovary, the one that gave me all the pain a few weeks ago. I have attempted to get a appointment with the ob/gyn at our medical center (Army Tricare) next time they can see me is Feb 7th
So i am calling back to my regular Dr. (which apparently they just reassigned me to a new one this week?!!? and begging for a urgent referral, my only hope to see a gyno any faster.

Oh and I still have this random U/S appointment on monday, left over from my fruitless doc appointment on Dec 19th. Should i go to it? Would they see anything that was not seen during the U/S the ER did on the 20th? Could you ladies think of particular questions for me to bring in there? Any red flags to find that would give a gyno a better idea of what was holding me up?(maybe wondering what my ovary follicles should look like now, if my left ovary is still small then my right one like last u/s, how thick is my endo lining? that kind of stuff)

oh and why the heck is FF teasing me with saying that i might of ovulated this last week????!!!! i never had my period, why is it cycling me thru again!!!!??? it is driving me nuts.

ok i'll shut up now

Anica - may this be the start of a healthy & happy 40+ weeks!! As far as PCOS goes, there is a PCOS tribe here, and they have a WEALTH of information. There's also this website where you can take a 'test' - www.pcosupport.org - that will give you an idea of how 'likely' you are to have it.
Metaformin is a glucophage, and helps your body process sugars better - I think that diet change might help as much as the met would.... several ladies have seen that occur. Processing sugar badly usually = insulin resistence, which if not addressed could lead to several more health issues.....

Rivka - I suspect that if you go, if anything they might give you a script for Provera to try to trigger your period to come on....and you could still ovulate - just ovulate very, very, late.... there's a lady in one of the buddygroups I'm on over at FF, who got a BFP despite never actually getting crosshairs. *faint* Talk about a minor miracle!

The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.

A big to all the ladies who have joined while I've been taking a break and I look forward to getting to know you!

•first put the chart smile in the text, you canfind it in the smiles under the more button.
•then highlight just the part it paste in before going to the next step
•open another page or tab in your browser and got o your chart.
•you need to copy the URL from the top of the chart page (it will look something like this but with diferent last numbers :
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1de81

•then go back to your post or signature on MDC, the chart smiley should still be highlighted.
•you click on the icon that has the little earth and chain link above the text entry area.
•you then copy your url into that window that pops up and press return

that should work just fine , if you are having struglesor think i am talking giberish ( i may be) you can point me to your FFpage and i can build it for you.

what you are going to get in the end is something that looks like this below, but without the spaces i have added in (i needed to add then for that the page could not read it and convert it to the link)

[ URL="http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1dea81" ]: chart :[ /URL ]
