I have been noticing my cycles for about 6 months now. I am 34. I don't really get too much EWCM. Maybe just on one day of the month. I think when I was younger I had tons more. Is this a possibilty why I have not conceived yet?
I am now doing various things to improve my health, though I am already healthy.

Secondly- my cycles vary from 32-36 days. It feels like I am always waiting for O and then the 2ww which is like a 3ww.
Would I likely Ovulate 14 days beofr, meaning day 22?
I did the POAS O tests my first month, maybe I should try that again.
But we BD a lot anyway- during all my possible O times.
Maybe God just wants me to wait even longer?!!

I don't know. I know some famous people- Jenmnifer Lopez and Halle Berry, took a long time to conceive but finally did.
I guess I am kindof bummed here at CD 27 and feeling not pregnant agian.
any ideas?

Hi there

my cycles are typically about the same length as yours, about 35 days. I ovulate around day 21, which then gives me a 2 week LP (two week wait). Are you sure you O on day 14? I've read a lot on this board about people dealing with short LPs, but never heard of one as long as 3 weeks. Do you chart or monitor ovulation in any way? I would bet you O later than day 14 with the cycle length you describe.

Just my $.02

Sorry I didn't read your post correctly. Yes I think you're right that you're ovulating later in your cycle, around day 22.

Katie34... I believe you are correct, EWCM can lesson as we age.

But, there are many ways for you to combat that. You can try herbs like Vitex or Soy Isoflavones (these also help bring on ovulation). You could also try medications that create mucous such as Robitussin or Musinex. Or, you could use real egg whites or Preseed as lubricants during intercourse.

With your long cycles, I would recommend that you look into the Vitex or Soy, since these can help with that as well.

As for when you O? I agree that if you are O'ing, it is more likely around cd21-cd22.
Temping and/or using OPKs can help you find that out.

I'm no expert! So be sure to research before you decide to use anything I suggested.

Good luck!!!

I just posted on the Nursing Mamas TTC thread about my relative lack of EW! I'm 38 and I only have one or two days per cycle, and I used to be slipping in the stuff. I don't take anything to increase it, myself -- I figure I only need a little. We'll see!

I wonder if you've got your O date all wrong. There's no way to be sure if you're not charting (or using OPKs). I have a 27 or 28 day cycle, but I O on CD 17 or 18. When I got pregnant with #1, I O'ed on CD 19! (I had an 8 day LP the cycle before.)

It's really easy to take your temperature every morning before you get up. And then you'd have an idea what was going on.
