I'm still here, and lurking. Absolutely no signs of that first pp egg yet. Tapping my fingers and waiting... I've been on Vitex and B6 for 3.5 months now, DS night-weaned 3 months ago, we're supplementing, and he's on lots of solids. Guess my body just doesn't want to share.

Hanny, big hugs about the test results. So these were from your m/c last summer? I'm so sorry. Every time I read where you write about TTC for a long time...I think back to when we were both TTC together before I had Alder. You are very strong and I know you will get your baby in the end. I'm still in touch with some of the gals from that other list we were on...and they are all thinking about you and praying for you too. Do you remember Heather? She's going through some testing right now too. Let me know if you want her email.

Christine, mama to Ava (7.05), Alder (5.07), Sadie (2.09) and #4 due mid-July 2011!

Please move me to the Two Week Wait! I'm 3 DPO.

I almost didn't believe I was ovulating when I noticed the EW at CD 10, which was way early for me. Considering it coincided with the croup and a miserable toddler, it's pretty amazing we found any time to DTD at all. We missed the day of O itself, but we got the two days before and the day after. Hopefully that will do it!

Thank you Trust me, I don't feel strong

I don't think I really posted anything about the tests on this board, so here goes

My obgyn ordered the chromosome analysis on me (baby is buried in the back yard), but I'd been putting off since August. I finally had it done last month -

Cytogenetic analysis of PHA stimulated peripheral blood revealed a female karyotye (me) with an extra marker chromosome, presently of unknown origin in 14 of the 20 metaphases examined. The appearance of this marker suggests that it may be a small ring chromosome. Blah blah blah... Parental chromosome analysis to rule out a familial origin and genetic counseling are recommended.

The RE I went to last week told me he doesn't even order this test usually because abnormal results are very rare. Heh. Guess I'm pretty special. We really don't know what these results mean - it could be why I keep miscarrying, or it might not be. I do have an appointment scheduled with a genetic counselor.

The RE also wanted to get the pathology report from DD's placenta to see if it could give us some clues. We found out that there was edema of the umbilical cord (which may indicate a blood flow problem), and that the cord was inserted close to the edge of the placenta instead of the middle (anybody have any idea what this might mean?). Now he's having slides sent to a placental pathologist in New York.

Aaaaanyway! Yes, I would love to get Heather's email addy. I never imagined I'd be seeing all of these specialists instead of holding another baby, and I'm sure she feels the same.

Sorry your body isn't cooperating! I can't believe how old Alder is - time flies!

hanny, I will be threadhostess again for march assuming I don't get a bfp... which I highly doubt.

No O for me yet... my temps are a little erratic, they are usually quite steady despite the cosleeping... but I suppose that is what post m/c hormones do to you. Time to pull out the opks again. DH is back from o/s so that is good but I am still torn. I would LOVE to just throw away my thermometer for this cycle and wait til AF shows, but I don't think that is wise because my OB wants me in for betas and progesterone tests etc as soon as I get a ... but at the same time, it would be so nice to oblivious.

hanny, just a

Hey all. Not much new here, just waiting, still have a week to go in the 2ww. I am starting to suspect that I have ovarian cysts. It could be just my imagination, but here is what is happening . . .

When we first started TTC I noticed what i thought were O pains, I had never paid any attention or noticed them before. Nothing too painful, just noticeable. A few months in a row I felt them on both sides (at different times of day). I also started to feel them during the 2 ww, kept making me think I was pg or something. Now I feel them sporadically throughout the cycle, they are a bit more painful, and while I always feel them on 'fertile' days, I feel them other times too. Just doesn't seem right. SO now I'm freaked. I have an appt with an OBGYN March 5th. It's gonna be a loooong month, I am now having visions of need for serious intervention, possible infertility, adoption . . . what a bizzare place to be. As Naturalmama says . . . never in a million years did I imagine myself here. I'll keep you posted when I find something out.

Hanny . . . , mama. Your head must just be spinning - or I know mine would be.

Brooke, I hear ya on how nice it is to be oblivious. I haven't temped in several cycles because it was driving me bonkers and O seemed to be predictable anyway. Each cycle, though, I keep telling myself I should get back to temping, esp. since my CM is so scant and isn't a reliable predictor.

Hi mammas, I'm joining you. I'm also TTC after a loss, but I figure I belong here too.

After 2 years I still have lactational ammennorhea. It's driving me crazy. Everyone else I know has had their period.

I'm just in a bad place today.

I am usually a lurker but had to post about your 'o' pains / concern about cysts. I have had odd pain in my "O" region (throughout my cycle) for 4 years; I have had ultrasounds and pelvics and taken all kinds of natural supplements and been offered BC pills, etc, although no dr has EVER seen anything or felt anything or even suspected anything (I personally have always been paranoid about endo, but apparently you either REALLY know you have endo, or you REALLY don't know, like there's no in-between although that condition presents both ways). My pain is not excrutiating (sp) it's just well, sort of weird, esp. since I NEVER have had cramps or anything particularly challenging about my cycle. So it's a weird thing that I have coped with for some time; like you, it just started w/O pains and then progressed to throughout my cycle to be more or less constant; whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's stimulated by estrogen and dormant during peak progesterone times (went away entirely when I was pg, all three times). Most recently, I finally got to see my OB who is a pretty naturally minded guy and he thinks it is a muscular/ligament thing--he says all muscles are incredibly sensitive to hormones (women, for example, sustain a higher rate to injury in sports during the first half of their cycles, for example) and I had a pelvic injury when I was a teen that may just be reacting increasingly now as my muscles tighten in my thirties. Anyway, that's been my experience with unexplained pelvic pain. And I haven't particularly had trouble getting pg, even nursing PP, although that one didn't stick. After this wretched three months of waiting for my m/c to resolve I even welcome the pelvic pain back because I know my cycle's getting back on track. I also don't think my two m/c have anything to do w/ the pain, although of course who knows. And I have spent HUGE amounts of wasted time googling pelvic pain and ovulation pain and the only thing I have ever found that fit this description was a listserv of women closer to menopause, all of whom had apparently had a couple or more kids, who had dealt with it increasingly through their thirties and forties.
Whew, sorry for the book. I don't know if I gave you more information, and of course you could have an entirely different issue, it just sounded a lot like mine. And also most women w/cysts don't have trouble getting pg unless they're not ovulating. And the last thing is that my SIL had a hard time getting pg w/#2 until she dropped her 2.5 year old down to nursing 2x a day--even though she was ovulating and regular, etc. Nursing can suppress fertility in ways we don't even know, I think.
HTH.

I don't know what it means, exactly, but I know it happened to me! Not with me giving birth to my son, but with my mother giving birth to me. The umbilical cord was connected literally to the edge of the placenta. My mom said that the OB called in all the nurses and interns so he could show them this rare phenomenon -- rare in a live birth, anyway.

I'm really sorry you have so much stress, bad news, and uncertainty. I send you lots and lots of hugs!

NaturalMama, are you testing soon?

I know it's hard to tell since I seem to post a lot on this thread, but I've been getting th "server is too busy" message a lot recently. Have you all? I hope that's why this thread is so slow, and not because everybody abandoned me

CD 14 here, and my body must know we're not trying this month, cause I have some awesome CM Last month I drank green tea and took Mucinex, and this month, with nothing, it's better.

Yeah, that's happened a lot to me over the last few days, too. It's a drag. I'm sure you haven't been abandoned!

Anyone on this thread planning to test on Monday? If my period doesn't start Sunday or (naturally) Monday, that's my current plan. It will be 10 DPO, too early, but my sister promised to buy me a bunch of Dollar Tree tests so I can test with abandon! She and her hubby aren't going to start TTC until summer, so she's living vicariously through me. She checks my chart about as often as I do!

Yes, I've been getting lots of "Server Busy" messages as well.

Here's the update....

Well, I'm STILL going through AF (Day 7) which is typical for me and matches my pre-pregnancy days. Even though AF showed up, I was happy as it means that my body is doing its cycle thing properly.

Although we have been TTC since June, but my first PP O date was in Dec. Now that I have had 2 normal cycles, I'm hoping that catching that eggie will be easier. Now I just have to get DH on board with DTD when CM is at its prime. It will be tough with him working evenings & weekends and me working days...but I'm motivated!!!

all around!!!

does anyone else on this thread have high post-O temps? i was wondering if it was due to breastfeeding hormones. (i finally got around to creating a link to my chart...)

good luck to all the POAS. i'm hoping for one last try for a BFP on saturday if AF doesn't show between now and then.

yes, we cosleep so perhaps I will try charting my temps. As for the dollar store hpt's, I don't think we have that in Canada! I have never seen them, but perhaps I just need to shop around a bit. Anyways, I will look into it. Thanks for the tip.

Just lurking as a graduate of this board , but thought I'd mention that Dollarama has dollar store tests ... though I'm not sure where you are in Canada.

Good luck!

Well, I broke down and tested yesterday, BFN! I was so bummed.
But now I'm thinking it might have been too early. I have cramps now and never have cramps before AF. I really "feel" like I'm pregnant. Although this is first month ttc, so I may just be deceiving myself.
If AF doesn't come this weekend I'll probably buy another test next week and go from there.
DD still continues to nurse like crazy, making me wonder if any eggs are dropping.

Are dollar store tests a brandname or just tests that are bought at a dollar store? I've heard it mentioned on other threads. I've only taken 3 POAS in my life and one was yesterday!

Hi everyone! Just checking in. I think I'm O'ing or getting ready to O. I *think* I had a + OPK on Tues and definitly a + OPK yesterday and *maybe* another + this a.m. (Yes, I take many a day, lol). Having O pains as well the last couple of days. I recently started temping again and no thermal shift.

So anyway, we have been DTD lots ( the last three nights in a row and every other day before that). I think DH is starting to wear out. lol.

Question for those who use OPK's: Do you ever get a + for more than one day? Do you only start dtd AFTER you get the +? According to DH, this is what we should be doing....he says that after having sex frequently (2-3 days in a row), he notices a drop in his "supply" when ejaculating. Does any of this make sense? Oh well.

Lots of luck to everyone!

Laura

Good luck! :

My temps throughout my cycle are higher than they were before I had my son, and maybe 0.3 degrees higher post-O. I never get as high as you, though -- my coverline is about 98, like yours, but my highest temp is 98.5, 0.4 lower than your highest. Maybe it is from breastfeeding, I don't know.

Hi mamas!!

I'm new here...my name is Maggie and I am the mother of the two loves of my life and I would love to add another. My oldest son is Ewan and is 3.5 and my younger son is Rufus and he is 22 months and still nurses all day long....8-10 times a day probably though he is finally night weaned and has been for about 4 months or so.

DH and I kinda started TTC in January and I was very hopeful and almost convinced I was pregnant. I have had mild nausea if I don't eat every few hours and some cramping in my low abdomen for about 1-1.5 weeks but four negative tests have shown me that it must all be in my head. I am so dissapointed in myself for not knowing my body better. I was nursing my first son when I got pregnant with my second and it happened on the first try so I guess I expected it to be the same.

So here I am waiting for AF to show up probably tomorrow or the next(I hope) and then i'm on the cycle #2.

Ugh. I posted a HUGE reply to this last night and thought I killed the thread because I wasn't getting replies. Apparently MDC ate it. Grrrrr.

Short version: It's called velamentous cord insertion. Do a google and a google image search. It's not as rare as it seems.

I had VCI with DS. We had him at home in a extremely fast homebirth (midwife even missed it). Due to the VCI, the cord tore upon delivery and his bleeding left him a little anemic but fine (very, very lucky considering what VCI can do...) I retained the placenta and bled heavily so I transported via ambulance to the ER for a D&C and transfusions. They said that I retained it because the fast birth resulted in uterine atony (uterus was basically in shock and wouldn't clamp down). The fast birth was probably because of the VCI, according to an OB I consulted with a few months back but I'm not sure how that would cause it?)

If you want more details, let me know. I just don't have the patience to re-type everything again.

In other news, can I be in trying to catch the first PP egg?

Now, if I can just ovulate.... DS is 25 months and nothing yet. He's nightweaned and I'm taking Red Clover Blossom, Vitex, Maca and prenatals. What else can I do? This is getting ridiculous.

you're doing everything you can! the rest is up to mother nature... after my dd1 was born, AF didn't return for 28 months -- but then we conceived dd2 on the first try. (and dd1 was nursing around the clock then, including at night)
i've heard of some mothers going about 30 months PP, but that's about the maximum. good luck -- it'll happen soon.

AF didn't show until DD was over 2 as well so I should be used to this. However, DH and I are starting to feel like if we get too far past the baby stage we're going to talk about stopping TTC. The pressure is on, I guess. Obviously, not good for TTC but... what can you do?

Sigh. Thanks for the reminder, chic2chic!

good luck to all the POAS. i'm hoping for one last try for a BFP on saturday if AF doesn't show between now and then.
I don't think high post O temps have to with breastfeeding. : for tomorrow!

yes, we cosleep so perhaps I will try charting my temps. As for the dollar store hpt's, I don't think we have that in Canada! I have never seen them, but perhaps I just need to shop around a bit. Anyways, I will look into it. Thanks for the tip.
Ahhh, I didn't even look at your location! Yeah, DD is the queen of night waking... She was waking every hour at this time last year! But temping wasn't really a problem

Bummer about the BFN. I think the Dollar Store tests are called New Choice, and I think that's just the dollar store brand.

Laura
Yay for a pos OPK! Yes, I've gotten pos OPKs more than one day in a row. It probably means that you're caught the LH surge on the way up and then on the way back down. I've read that there's no reason to continue OPKing after you get a pos, that it's just a waste of tests... But I know I can't usually help myself!

Welcome to the group! Hope you stay here is short

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I tried googling it last night, before I knew what it was called, but didn't really get anywhere.

Leaguemama . .. thanks for the post. I agree, googling and digging up scary stuff isn't going to help me any .

It may very well be that I will not get pg until DS nurses less. Can't imagine that happening for a while yet, though, although I never thought I would be saying that at 3 yo

I am 10dpo so am expecting AF or a BFP on Tues or earlier. I'm not exactly hopeful, but anything is possible!
