I just got a positive OPK this afternoon, so I guess I can officially consider myself "in". I'll be aiming to test around the 15th, but knowing me, I'll start way sooner than that.
I'm testing the 5th. My day 28 is actually the 7th but I'm going to test two days early so I can see if I can partake in a wedding toast at a wedding i'm attending that night without feeling guilty.
I want in! I'm 2-3dpo (FF says 3, but I think it's only 2) today and plan to wait until after AF is due to test. So, I'm going to test on July 14. Does that still count as "early July?"
After getting a ++ last cycle prior to AF being due and having it turn out to be a chemical, I'm hesitant to test any earlier....though I may give in when I'm closer to 10-12dpo! I'll have to wait and see how I'm feeling.
Ok, I updated the list with everyone's test dates. If anyone wants me to link to their charts, let me know. 2in09, when you have a test date let me know and I'll add it.
There's a few early testers, maybe that means some BFP's in the next week or so!
Thanks for starting this thread! I will be testing around the 9th or 10th. I am almost done my thesis so I may not be around much. I'm not even sure when I o'd - either Sunday or Saturday or Friday. We'll see.
Yesterday afternoon at 2pm I got my first positive OPK. I took two additional ones yesterday (both positive) and was expecting this morning's to be negative, but it's still positive. Maybe not as dark as the first one, comparatively speaking, but it's still darker than the control line.
I'm not temping this cycle because it makes me crazy, but I wanted the OPK's to help time things. So, when should I start counting myself as being past ovulation? Like, if I get a negative OPK this afternoon, should I consider tomorrow the day of ovulation, and therefore the day after tomorrow 1DPO?
See, I wanted to abandon the whole DPO thing and just test when my period is due because the anxiety and stress of it can't be helping things. But here I am, still obsessing about what day is O day.
I want in!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 3 dpo today and so probably will test on the 8th, but should wait to test until the 14th. I know I won't wait that long...this was our first month TTC #2 and I really really am hoping for a March baby

If you're like me, you can get a light +opk leading up to the peak LH surge, followed by the actual +opk, followed (the next day) by another light +opk showing the decrease in LH.
I always count the dark + as the day before O and make sure we BD within 12-24 hours. With lines that are dark more than 1 day, I'd BD until they lightened up or went away completely (and count the day I get -opk as O day).
(Hope that all makes sense!)
Temping is the way I know FOR SURE when I ovulate, though I can usually predict when it's coming based on symptoms and opk. The temp just confirms it all for me.

P.S. Maybe your idea of not stressing about O date and just testing when AF is due is a good one though. Really, none of it matters as long as you're BDing during the time your body feels fertile and AF fails to show up.
Hey Guys! New here. Happy to see NO GLITTER...no stickers...ahhhh...I'm feeling more relaxed. Sent here at the recommendation of my hippy friend. And way fewer use of acronyms. THANK YOU SWEET JESUS. I am too old for that shit. (and who knew 29 could be old...) I can live with the dancing smileys.
Been working at this for about 5 months. No luck so far. This month is a first using OPK and temping. I'm not a fan of checking my cervical mucus - and it all seems the same to me..so I gave up on that. And i don't go up in there (my body and I are still getting to know one another) for a cervical position check. Ack.
Cycles have been 33, 35, 30, 30 the last couple months. Started OPK on day 11 and basically ran out. All negative. Boo. Got bummed maybe I wouldn't ovulate at all. Day 18 rolls around - I am MAJORLY bummed all morning...and I get some twinges late afternoon. Had been using First Morning Urine for the digital opk and read that I could be missing it. So i tested at 6pm and got a remarkably positive line. Sweet.
So I've been feeling these mild twingy cramps since sunday night. I typcially cramp around ovulation. But now I'm obsessing over what day exactly O occured.
The temps are making me crazy. I take betweeen 8 and 9am every morning. This morning expecting to see my 'surge' I got a 97.6. i wasnt thrilled with that, so I took it again 1/2 hr later. Got a 96.7 - can you say WTF?
I have temped twice in a row a few times this cycle and get wildly different numbers. what is UP with that??? I don't trust that im temping right.
Oh. and...i sleep with my mouth open. is this a problem?
So if I go by the higher temp - than that barely sets my coverline and puts me at DPO1 today. look see:
Awesome! My official test day would be July 8th or 9th as I'm currently either 6DPO or 7DPO, not 100% sure since I had 2 overwhelmingly positive OPKs 2 days in a row and then 2 more days if positive but lighter ones after that *sigh* I'm having a hard time waiting until the 8th or 9th though.
I have been temping for the past 4 years. You want to take your temperature right when you wake up. The important thing with temps is you should have at least 3 hours of sleep before you temp. Once you're up and about, your temperature fluctuates, so any temps you take after you get up don't count.
If you always sleep with your mouth open, I don't think it will make a difference. Some women take their temp vaginally, so that is an option. I just stick the thermometer in my mouth though.
I started temping after reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. (Yes my name is also Toni, but I'm not her.) This book is still on my shelf and I refer to it as needed when something odd happens in my cycle.
I tried to look at your chart, but it wouldn't load into the page for me. Don't know why. All I got was the legend for the symbols used.

Unlike pregnancy tests, the OPK's do better with afternoon urine, actually. Something about when the body it dissipates in early morning (around 2-3 am), and then becomes stronger mid morning and early afternoon, so if you were only testing once a day first thing in the morning, it's possible you entirely missed it.
I'm going to take a picture and show my OPK series, but some days I tested as much 3 times because the surge can be as short as 12-24 hours, so once-a-day testing can mean you miss it entirely.

Yeah, that's what I had figured. And even though it's two days, it's really only 24 hours. Because yesterday morning at 9 I got a negative test, then at 2 got a positive one. This morning's was still positive, and I'm about to do another.
... Annnnd, it was negative (barely, it looks a nano shade lighter than the control line). That was exactly 24 hours. With the darkest positive being this morning at 9am. So should I count tomorrow as 1DPO, or as being O day.
